Just came back from getting my hair cut, and I absolutely love it. Still have my length, but have some style to it now, yeah! Also,........... just went to get weighed and I am down 3 lbs this week. Yeah!(jumping up and down)., and it is also I week today since I quit smoking. What an awesome day! Hugs to all! Virginia |

That sure is a great day. I know i feel like a new person when I treat myself to a haircut (can almost never afford), but to be down 3 lb on top of that. I think I'll go get a hair cut just before my next weigh in. (then even if I'm not down I still got a new dew). I have had another really good day. The fitday site is really working for me. I needed to really learn what is good serving size for me and my body. I grew up in the "eat everything on your plate...there are starving children and you won't get any dessert" I realize now that I have been stuffing myself all my life. The great thing is I have been losing weight, but I haven't been even close to hungry or craving anything. New house rule for our household... no eating in front of the tv (usually watching Jepordey (sp?)) When I watch I don't pay any attention to what I'm eating and then I'm done and want to eat more. Plus when we eat at the table together we talk and laugh and take our time. SeeCat - I hope you have a good a day as Wanttolossalot when you weigh in. Don't give up, just keep up your plan and exercise you will make it to your goal Amyjo01 - hope everyone is feeling well. Hi gang.
I have been so much out of the loop!!! Son #1 has monopolized the computer all week, working on a science project til the wee hours. But, I have certainly missed logging in and being a part of the group. I have been doing really well on my program. The diet part has not been the problem...I was struggling with the exercise part. But I did learn something about myself early this week..I learned that if I didn't do it first thing in the morning, I put it off and put it off...then I felt guilty, which made me depressed...then I'd have to fight against the hungries a lot harder. SOOOOO, I have been laying out my gym clothes the night before right next to the bed. Just as soon as hubby walks out the door and the school bus pulls away...I hit the treadmill. Today, it was oddly warm (62 F) so I actually DROVE 10 miles to the school track and walk 3 miles on it. Today...more rain, more flooding and temp dropping to the teens. Sounds like everyone is doing well and I am so proud of our group. I really enjoy all the hints that we are sharing. And it's really encouraging to know that there are a lot of people out there taking charge (and falling down once in a while) and making changes to their lives for the better. I hope to regain the use of MY computer after the weekend so I can go back to replying to all my friends here. Bare with me. Thanks. Sweetpea :^: |

Congrats to wanttolosealot on your loss. A haircut wouldn't such a great treat for me as i am a hairdresser...lol Im down 2 pounds this week!! I find everytime i start a diet, it takes about two weeks before anything changes at all. So hopefully this counting cals is starting to work!! Can someone please tell me how to change my weight tracker?? |
Krissy, unfortunately you have to go back and "redo" your tracker when you change it.
A small price to pay for a weight loss, eh? ;) Congratulations to all of you losers!! :hat: And to Virginia, for being smoke-free!! I'll bet you smell GREAT, girl!! :lol: I am back on track today, and feeling GREAT!! I've got my tracker out and in the process of being filled, and I've got the day to myself. :) |
Krissy, I'm sorry... I'm mistaken. You don't have to redo it. Go into "edit your signature", and just change the number in the HTML.

Seems like we're flying high today! Wantolossalot, how great you are doing, in all the areas you've decided to change! Rock on Gurrl! As for me, I've had a bit of blip. I've been good about the exercising, but I went out to lunch yesterday and CHOWED DOWN on Chinese food. I'm on the South Beach diet, so I avoided the rice like I should have, but I didn't exercise any portion control at all as far as I can tell. That means I finished my plate. Eegh. And the scale showed it this morning, up two pounds, eek! Well, today is a new day, and I did an extra mile of WATP (the 3-mile "Energy Walk") at a higher intensity than usual, and I've got a chef's salad for lunch. The lesson I'm taking away is that I need to be sure I make myself something to eat while I'm at work - it's when I'm scrounging something that I get into trouble. On the up side, I'm really looking forward to the weekend, because I've got two good friends coming to stay the weekend. It means lots of cleaning tonight, but that's not too bad. We're cooking an Indian Feast, woo hoo! The even better news is that they are both on SBD too, so if I modify recipes, they won't be sad. I'm really looking forward to it! take care, all, Solarmama |
Thank you Ellis. That worked!!....A couple more days and we will be half way through January!!! Yikes....i really want to make my goal. Seems like its taken forever just to lose a couple pounds. I know for me, its the exercise part thats making it difficult. Im still eating good. It's just hard to get out and walk when theres snow on the sideways.....good excuse hey!!

Actually, I'm with you on exercising, PERIOD! We bought a treadmill (was it last week?), and DH said to me last night, "I bought that thing for YOU, and the only one using it is the kids!" :lol: Solar, it's definitely the salt, hon. :yes: It'll come off. How's the Indian feast going? :) My husband used to do that occasionally... he makes the most wonderful samosas. And a bunch of other things. Virginia, how's the not smoking going, sweetie? Listen, I want you to promise that even if you slip up, that you won't go slinking off to your corner, okay? You stay here with us. We're together through the successes AND failures! :grouphug: Den, how's the new bike? :D |

OH! BIKE!!!! (Get the picture?) I have to get going again. I was almost completely healthy again and then I started getting sick again. I am now back up to where I was last Thursday. |

well I have been doing good I feel really proud of myself (even after some slip ups that in the past woudl have caused me to throw in the towel)
I continue to track my calorie intake everyday. Even on the really bad days. These are the most important days for me to do it. It really hits home for me when i visually see the actual amount of calories and fat that I consumed. I will admit that on my worste day this week I ate a grand total.....of.....3578 calories :eek: OH MY GOD ya wonder why your fat! On the pluse side I am down another pound even with my 'bad day' I think I just had no idea how everything can add up. WOW! Exercise is slow going still. I am finding it so hard to venture out of the house due to the weather. So I have been moving while watching tv and going up and down the stairs on the commercials. My new saying "Any amount of exercise is better than none at all" I am feeling oddly zen lately....I have this sense of I can do it, I am doing it. Which is soooooo diferent from my old internal dialoge 'why bother, i would rather eat this' Keep the emails up everyone. I run to my computer every morning just to seee how everyone is doing. We will reach our goals! T |
