Silence
We meet on a cold and tired night,
Bundled in our finest winter dressing
And exchanging tired smiles of relief
Under the golden parking lights
Taking soft mitten and glove
We walk to a warm and secluded greenhouse,
Crunching in the snowy mountain wood.
Exotic scents gently kiss the air
As we take turns picking daisies
And hiding among the foliage.
We collide by chance in a fit of laughter
And I trace a rose bud across your face.
Quietly unpeeling in an attentive ritual
But never leaving a stem length between,
Two snowbunnies become lost in a white ocean of dreams.
We blend among the plants
In voices that shake the glass
And a violence that separates pots from plants
Our smiles leak from seriousness
As we spot a single dove landing upon the glass
