awww that's sweet...good way to start my day
|
I have four days off starting tomorrow. I'm moving to a better place. It's my b-day this weekend. And last weekend I went to the coast and hubby left the weekend to all my choices... my b-day present. :) :)
Also am grateful that we have a car and independance enough to move on our own. It sucks begging for help always for everything. So good to be able to do our own chores! |
Happy Birthday!
:hb:
Where ya moving to? :listen: If I might ask? Staying in Oregon, Staying in Eugene? Moving to a better place sounds like you are dying - you're not, right?:?::p:dizzy: Moving closer to me? ;) Happy Birthday!! Keep it real:cool: |
hehe. going to a better place. no, i'm not dying, not yet. though the new place doesn't have a/c so i might! it sure has been hot for oregon, huh? i'm staying in eugene, moving to a different neighborhood is all. I wish i was leaving eugene, but hubby loves it here so... what can i do? *L*
Thanks for the birthday wishes. 25 seems kinda depressing, but then i think about my hubby hitting 30 next February and I cheer back up. Does that make me evil??? :) |
Yes!
Especially since I am 35.:p
And just to make sure we arent related somehow - does the last name of Downey mean anything to you? I ask because I have an aunt and uncle in Eugene that have grandkids your age that I have never met. This would be weird. But would not be the first time.:dizzy: PM me if you don't want to discuss your lineage in open forum. PJ:D |
hehe. doesn't ring a bell. the big family name that relates me to everyone in oregon is raisor. scary scary.
c.g. is so scary that i went to a family function for MY family, and met one of my husbands distant relatives (married into the family thank you very much, my husband and i are not related!!). It was a little scary though. There's something to be happy and grateful for - I'm not my husbands cousin LMAO |
I am thankful for a husband who does the shopping and doesn't mind shopping for my strange dietary requests...and female requests. ;)
|
i'm thankful andy has a job interview on monday
|
Ferret: I'll keep my fingers crossed on the interview.
I am grateful to have an understanding son (age 12). He knew that my weight was causing other health problems, and he was a real trooper (scared trooper) when I had the gastric bypass surgery. |
I'm grateful that I get to see my vocational rehab counselor today about college....so HOPEFULLY...my tuition will go through this evening before the deadline tomorrow. Meaning I'll be back to school in a few weeks! And I'm really, really gratful that the yucky fever blister I got on Thursday is going away! I know thats a gross thing to mention but there is nothing like getting one of those to make me feel ugly & embarrassed to go out in public. I had a whole houseful of friends here this weekend & felt like a bit of a leper.
|
thanks for the luck...he's at the interview right now...
and i'm thankful for my family |
I am thankful for my health and that my heat rash is finally going away.:p
I am thankful that DH finally got the garden in (we have a late summer so should be ok - if not the chickens will love it) I am so happy that the scale is still saying I lost weight!:D And I am grateful for this group that has helped me to stay on track!;) |
I'm thankful that the move is over. old house is clean as it's gonna get, and i'd better get my deposit! :) new place is coming together, only have a little bit left of the bedroom and the office and livingroom to get organized. Not too bad for 3 1/2 solid days of work. And I'm also grateful that even with short bouts of shouting and crankiness, no major fights ensued. I'm so proud of us! :)
|
Yay he got the job! and all my family is around right now so i'm feelin pretty ecstatic...not to mention andy talked about setting a wedding date the other night :o
|
Yay Ferret!! Congrats :)
|
Wedding date & a new job!Coolness! Congratulations.
Today, I'm very grateful that the air conditioner works! Simple but hard to do without! |
today i'm grateful that i'm goin on a tubing trip (if it gets nicer out  ) with coworkers...it should be a good time and i'll get to know my coworkers better since it's a newer job for me
|
this may sound a little mean, but i'm very grateful my hubby is going back to work today. ten days off and i am ready to have the place back!! :)
also happy i have a new and improved schedule and my new place is working out nicely and coming together after just a week. YAY! |
I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll have more reminders in my life of this ... but I am very grateful for the way that I was raised and for my parents being good people who put their children first and made every effort to give them everything they needed, if not wanted, and doing so with no budget to speak of.
I always had a happy birthday growing up, a bountiful Thanksgiving, and magical Christmas. Now that I am grown and they are very far away... I realize that I had more than I ever knew and lost more than I thought I could when they left. Ah, well, but this isn't a regretful and morose thread, now is it? *LOL* At any rate, not everyone was as lucky as me, and I'm a little spoiled now and missing those days very much. I was a very blessed child, however ungrateful I was at the time. |
I havent posted here for a while so I must be due. :^:
AS alway I am grateful for my husband - for making the effort and for not being perfect (who wants to be with someone perfect that just accentuates our own flaws?) ;) For my parents - Ferret - I feel I was just as blessed - and at this moment feeling a tad guilty because I still have my parents and I moved 250 miles away from them - not because I don't appreciate them - but because we needed to get away from the city - for our sanity. So I am grateful that they are willing to make the drive to visit us and that they have a spare room for us to sleep in when we visit and that include 3 house dogs plus Dad makes a bed for the big dog in his patio. "The Grandkids" For my job - I am sure I have mentioned it before - but I couldnt come close to the pay if I had to work away from home in my county let alone the convenience of being able to work from home. :D For the dogs and the cats and the horses - unconditional love and hours of entertainment - plus the chickens lay eggs - we eat some, we sell some and I am current loading an incubator to hatch some. We are down to 9 hens thanks to racoons and so I need more layers and (WARNING: non vegan statement coming) we will being raising some freezer chickens over the winter. :chicken: Babbler off. :p |
I've been neglecting this thread...naughty...not that I don't feel blessed everyday but it's relaxing to write it down daily...
well i'm thankful to be completely settled in my apt and my new job...thankful andy and i had a great date night last night...thankful for my family as always and of the potential my life with andy has and is obtaining... i'm a lil frustrated because i know andy's not very optimistic about this job of his, but he's stickin with it until something better comes along...it could always be worse...or he could have no job at all...patience my dear ferret |
happy and grateful for my real friends. A great bunch! Always know how to cheer me up and some of them went beyond the call of duty when things got really bad.
Yay for friends!!!! |
i'm feelin blessed for my family...for my job...as hectic as it is...and just for this time to relax today...
|
I'm grateful for my current excellent health... my wonderful supportive husband who after years of being stuck in contract ****, finally has a permanant job that he loves.
I'm grateful for my awesome mom who goes to aquacize class with me 3 times a week, and invites me on bike rides. Both of my parents are too cool for words. |
I hate to sound sappy but I am just so happy & grateful to be alive. I've started meditating a bit here & there & it's just amazing how much it makes you realize that the simple act of breathing is a miracle & something to be grateful over!
|
i feel blessed that my steering is fixed in the car...it's the only thing i feel blessed about with that heap right now, but this is a grateful thread LOL
|
Elli, I'm really glad your other half is ok! That is so scary. I know how you feel. I would not say I'm exactly OCD but I am a pretty major worrier...it drives my family & friends nuts...I over-mother them. Anyways, my bf has a really dangerous job so I'm always worried if he is late coming home from work. Anyways, grateful, this thread is hard for me because I just have so much to be grateful for! Today I'll stick with being grateful that my bf is really sweet, open minded & appears to be really nuts about me:)
|
Boy, nothing makes you feel more grateful than going through your resume and letters of recommendation and compliments. I am putting together a little portfolio for interviews because I'm getting ready to move on from my current job and re-reading all those nice things people have said about me is really nice! Totally lifts my day.
Also, I will be really grateful if I get the job I'm applying for. More money and a more lax environment. I could use both! Worrying about things like - are my socks the right color and can this shirt show my tattoo is annoying. I'd like to just wear the clothes I have instead of the few outfits I've purchased specifically for this job. |
What kind of tat do you have liz?
|
I have a sun/moon tribal thing on my left shoulder, and a big red lizard on my left ankle.
The lizard is awesome I got it when i had just turned 18 and since I'm a Liz and was always called lizard and it's red and lizards are a fire sign animal and i'm a leo, etc etc. it was very suited to me. But because he's there, i can't exactly wear a skirt or capri pants without someone barking at me. :) The moon/sun tat was a spur of the moment, night before i got married my maid of honor and i went out and got matching tats for the occasion. it was fun. i forget it's there though since i can't see it and sometimes i'll wear a sleeveless shirt that shows it. Tsk tsk, shame on me. *L* I am ready for more though. Do you have any, Dawn? |
Your lizard sounds very cool! And very appropriate. I would not think you'd get much grief about it showing, especially since it is in such a traditionally "girly" place for a tat. I'd think Oregon was open minded? No? I like the idea of your lizard because its an unusual topic, which I always prefer. My tat is fairly large/long & is on my right bicep. Its a black tribal/celtic-ish design on the underlayer & then there is a red rose with green leaves wrapped around the blackwork. I got it on my arm because back when I got it (15 years ago) you NEVER saw women with them there....and I had done it to be "different". lol. I don't regret getting mine as I like it still but I have to admit that if I'd been 18 today I probably would not have gotten one. I liked having one because so few females got them, now everyone has one, or two, or six. lol. Or so it seems. Every time I find something odd that I like it becomes popular & loses some of its appeal! When I first got my tat I wanted another one SO bad, you know how they say everyone gets the bug after they get one? Luckily I did not have the cash until a few years later & then I found I was happy with just one. If I'd had plenty of $ I think I might have ended up with Sleeves! Not something that would have looked good in my wedding dress. Now I think tats are cool if they accent your body but I feel that if you have too many they become a focus & distract from You. Know what I mean? That is of course just my personal opinion. If anyone here has a dress tattood on them or permanant pants please don't be insulted. :)
|
Oh, I forgot, happy & grateful...lol. This morning I am so grateful that my bf is so cool that when I forced him to get out of bed at 6:15 to come down to the beach just because I thought the light looked really eerie & there were four schools of dolphins cavorting he just smiled & kissed me instead of being irritated as heck that he was missing a half hour of sleep. :) He's soooo mellow!
|
i just feel blessed to be alive today
|
LMAO If I did that to my husband he'd probably find the closest thing he could stab me in the eye with. No, not really of course, but he is surly if you wake him up and it is not a chance I'll ever be willing to make. (imagine me in the future going into labor and taking the bus instead of waking him up *LOL*)
I am with you on the tats. If I were reliving it, I would have been more stubborn and held off to get the exact tattoo that I wanted. While I do love my big ol lizard - what I really wanted was for him to be on my foot, with his tail wrapping around my anklebone. Aparently CA does not allow tattoos on hands and feet, so I settled for my ankle instead. I definately want more. I would love to get something celtic looking, but I am indecisive and my husband is really disapproving of tattoos (why does that make me want one more? *LOL*) I am grateful that today is FRIDAY! End of the week. I can definately tell when the full moon starts adjusting peoples moods (and sadly, not in a good way). Also I'll be getting a little time to myself this weekend, which I am always happy to have! :) |
i love tats...i have a celtic knot that's a butterfly on my right forearm...you should check it out... Photo Album it's down at the bottom
anyways, i'm thankful for the smell of fresh cut grass (my parents and bf are mowing right now) and that I got a good night's sleep |
I am happy & grateful for my nephew who turned 3 this weekend. :)
|
I'm grateful for enlightenment in strange places. And happy to be getting a whole day off tomorrow to spend with my aunt and cousin, I never get to see them and they are the only family I have left now.
btw - ferret, that tat is awesome. I loved it. I also really liked the star. I want to get some stars added to my tribal, but since my hubby frowns upon them, I have to wait til he's not looking and I have some extra hidey money. *LOL* |
lmao...sorry you have to do that lizzy...andy doesn't have any tats as of yet (though he thinks someday he's gonna get the hush puppy dog sitting at a bar with the caption "lush puppy"...yeah that's totally him LMAO...
I'm thankful for a lot of stuff today...I'm happy that maybe i'm getting my debt in control here...we'll see ugh |
I'm thankful for the rain today and that i got my rear in gear to exercise...i know the winter's coming and my body just WON'T lose in the winter...damn conservation mode...but if i'm good and keep my muscles lean then in the spring i can lose like crazy like i usually do...i'm grateful that i've got some kind of cycle of my body down (only took me twenty some years) :P
|
I am happy because I had a job interview on Weds and I think it went really well. I should hear back from them today, if not the weekend, so the anticipation is killing me... but I still am very hopeful.
We'll see how grateful I am after I hear the answer. *LOL* I am however grateful at least that another week of suffering at the job I'm at now is coming to an end, yay friday! |
