Instead of writing down everything I'm eating, or using fitday (frusturated me because I couldn't find certain foods, inaccuracies, etc..) I write down the amount of calories in whatever I just ate on a calendar. I keep adding to the calories on the calendar so I can see where I'm at. I keep it in the kitchen.

Like many people already said, flogging (food log! ) works great for me. But when I stop, I regain.

I have been losing weight slowly by eliminating more animal products from my diet. But now I think it's time to count calories again. Unlike some of the posters, I *do* keep flogging when I'm having a bad day. Then I can look back and see that maybe it wasn't so bad, after all. Maybe I only ate 2200 calories, when I thought I had been a total pig and gained three pounds. That keeps me motivated the next day.

My flog (I'm cracking up every time I type that!!!) is on paper. Websites are too much hassle for me and my pre-historic dial-up connection. I have a small journal. At the top of each page, I write the date and the number of days I've been working on it. I write down the major food groups and keep track by tally marks how many items of each group I'm eating. I also keep track of calories.

It's probably time to start again, since I'm going back to counting calories. The question is, how to maintain?

Personally, I lie to food journals. And then I feel guilty for lying to it and for eating whatever I ate. I do better not to focus too much on food altogether.

Default Yes

keeping a food journal is very importand cause You can look back on the week and see how good you did or where you need to improve. I use the nutrition log on slimfast.com, i don't even drink slim fast but it's free to use the site. I also journal everything I feel too, it's really helped with complusive eating. I'll just write and write until I don't want to eat anymore and i feel a lot better afterward.

I'm going to start journaling again. It's the only thing that keeps me accountable.
