Default anyone had a mammogram?

I know this isn't a usual topic, but I know you guys and all, and I have to go in later this afternoon for one and am really really nervous.
I have heard horror stories, but never have I actually talked to anyone who has had one before. I just wondered if anyone had any suggestions or horror stories of their own they'd like to share.
I am so nervous, and usually 23 year olds don't have to do that kinda thing. I'm not "mature" enough yet. *LOL* I am pretty sure all will be okay and they are just going to confirm that I have some cysts, but it's still unnerving. The "C" word just strikes terror into me I guess. *L*
Anyway, I'm trying really hard to be all brave and not nervous and sick to my stomach. I've got like 3 1/2 hours til my appointment and am trying not to think about it.
It's not working.

Wish me luck!

I had a scare last year but it turned out to be nothing- phew!

Everyone was really nice at the clinic I went to and it didn't hurt or anything - just felt a bit weird and the machine was cold.

Good luck today - sending good vibes out to you so that everything will turn out all right

Well, there's nothing to tell, yay me. Aparently there are sometimes lumpy painful spots for no reason and they don't mean anything at all.
Unnerving... but good news.

Thank for the support guys. And you know what's funny, i wound up just getting an ultrasound, they didn't even do a mammogram afterall.

Glad everything is ok.

I have had the ultrasound done for the same thing. Those aren't too bad.

I was really worried that I'd have to do the needle thing. I'm glad. But at the same time kind of disappointed because it makes me wonder if I should get a second opinion. I mean, there is obviously something wrong. Though the doctor said that it could be bruising even from a while ago that just now was being felt. THat's kind of strange.
One interesting point of all of us ladies is that the most common reason women come in is after losing some weight the breast tissue can change and feel different. He said he sees a lot of this. I would have never know that.

Anyway, thanks for the support.. and WHEW!
