Mauvais, good for you for walking and ummm... cleaning out the freezer. (did that involve a lot of exercise? :D ) Squeak, congratulations on doing the yoga! :hat: We'll turn you into an exercise freak... YOU'LL see! :D |
Yes, smart Alec Ellis, it involved a lot of bending and stretching and lifting - so :p!

I plan to do some exercise this week...even if I just walk around the block a couple of times. I should really do some yoga meditation and there are some really gentle asanas I can do also...I'll let you know girls!
Soozie |
No exercise for me all weekend. I did my five days last week, and I'm back in the saddle again tomorrow after work -- I'm actually looking forward to it! :cp:
Sooz, I know you know this, but really try to be careful not to stretch your upper body too much. I overtaxed myself too soon after my surgery, and my scars are much worse as a result. I'd really be careful to focus on the lower body and return to your upper body later, after you've properly healed. Or maybe those stretches you were referring to do concentrate on the lower body......I hope so. Biking perhaps? I'm sure you'll do what you think is best, so I'll butt out now. :blah: Hope everyone's doing well! |
I ate like a :ink: all weekend so much so that I gained 5 pounds. But I did manage 3 hours of yard work...we raked, mowed and work our butts off.
|
Thanks Sarah,
yes, I'll be very careful. Don't want to do any damage. I've had enough set backs already! as you now know...from my whining! :) I'll only do lower body stuff. I won't stretch the girls or work the upper abs or arms until the doc gives me the go ahead. I was kind of surprized because I expected the recovery to be so much easier. (FOOL!) I had spoken with a friend of mine who had the surgery. She is an exercise junkie, big time, so I should have known, but, she said that she went back to working out after a week. and you know what? she probably did. but, she's crazy. You sound like you do some intense exercise too Sarah. Did you start back really vigorously? How long ago was your surgery? any regrets? In another thread I said that I'm going to the gym today...and I am...really...honest...hey, Ellis, stop that laughing...I am going... Den? Are you there? Tell her to stop that...Mauvais, Ruth, Squeak, you are the other senior alternachicks...tell Ellis that I am going to the gym today...oh, sorry Ellis, that wasn't you laughing was it? that was me. ouch, and that was me kicking me in the butt... see how weird I get when I've had too much sugar and not enough perspiration? |
