What is wrong with people? is it so hard to be kind and help someone. I was just at DMV. They don't take cash only checks. There was a pregnant woman with no checks only cash. She asked if someone would take her money and write her a check guess what out of 50 people no one would help the poor thing. I had 1 check left in my check book and thankfully they let me combine the 2 of us on one check. But seriously some people wouldn't even look at her never mind help her. Ok I am done now :soap: thanks for listening.

Sflake, that is too nasty for words. I agree... what IS wrong with people!?
I remember falling off my bike once as a young adult in college. I fell on a VERY busy street during rush hour, in front of about 10 people standing at a bus stop. I really hurt myself, and not ONE of them helped me... they all looked the other way. Well, maybe it was fate. It made you feel good to help her, right? And you'll stand out in her mind for a LONG time! :grouphug: |
Suzanne - I live downtown so, I guess I have to expect more crime. I live in a nice area of downtown but there are still a lot of homeless roaming around and since I live in an alley (it's really a street but it faces the railroad tracks so I consider it an alley) there's a lot of vagrant people sleeping there. There are only three houses on my whole street and the rest is the back of hotels and offices. Sooooo, if I was a criminal, this would be the place to be. The only other trouble I've had has been with the neighbor kids (who egged my house... from their yard!!! Morons), and people parking in my parking spot. I love where I live and I wouldn't dream of moving. Funny, when I was a kid, I had really horribel nightmares about people breaking into my house and killing me and no one could hear me scream (I lived in the middle of the woods). Now, I'm not sure if I screamed if anyone would pay attention. :)
Sflake - What kind of DMV doesn't take cash??? Bizarre. Hey did I mention? I chopped off my hair. I had very smooth, rockabilly hair (Betty Page style... hence the pic) and I was tired of always having to do it. So, I told my hairdresser to chop it all off and make it messy. I got really short Audrey Hepburn bangs. I love it!!! Someone called it JBF hair (Just been ......). Hee! My boyfriend was a wee bit suprised. |
Jessica- your new do sounds cool!
Sflake- I can't believe no one tried to help that lady! Well you did your good deed for the day and I am sure she appreciated it  |
Jessica, congratulations on the nerve to do the hairdo! I recently did a big change myself, from long curly hair to short spikes. SCARY! But so exciting!
Sflake, you are such a good girl. :) Shame on the other 50 people! Ellis...I had a nasty fall once in a grocery store, and believe me, I WISHED people had looked the other way! I did a split right in front of the whole line of cash registers. (In my 4 inch heel bright blue Candies, if that says how long ago) The whole place quit functioning for about 5 seconds while all eyes landed on me. I could have died. :o |
Did anyone help you up Jennifer?

Oooo! UPDATE on the stabbing guy story!!!!
Last night, my boyfriend was on his way home and saw a guy walking down the street in a red dress. He really didn't think anything of it. But then, our neighbor is running down the street like a mad woman. Turns out the guy stole a red dress when he attacked my neighbor. Last night, he walked by the store in the same red dress. Obviously this guy has some mental problems. So, my neighbor called the cops and then went chasing after him. The cops came by and asked us which way he went. They had about 4 cars cruising the neighborhood for this guy. He almost escaped by taking the trolley but luckily, my neighbor saw him get on it. They had police waiting for him at the next trolley stop. Woo hoo! Scary guy behind bars!!! He had a beard... who wears a red dress with a beard? ;) |
Our "hit list" is getting pretty long isn't it?
Sflake - I am sure the woman from the DMV is telling everyone about the wonderful woman that helped her. :) Jessica - sounds like a cool haircut! Glad they caught the scary guy! Ellis - I know I read in one of these threads about DD. I am glad she is doing well!!! Today is going ok, but I am really dragging. I just want a nap. :p 30 more minutes and I get to go home! How is everyone? :) |
I dunno Jess - I know some folks in the middle of transgendering and they might wear a red dress with a beard. Well, maybe mauve anyhow! Scary stuff.
Squeak, I hope you are home now and having a nap! Hey...we want pictured of the spiked hairdos, you two modern chicks! Maybe I'll start to move away from my blue rinse! |
Whew Ruthxxx! People on the boards refer to me as mauv or mauve - for a minute there I thought you were suggesting that I would wear a red dress with a beard!
How is your hubby doing these days? Better yet how are you holding up? I hope you are taking good care of yourself hon! |
Red dresses with moustaches, PLEASE!!!
|
Den, red dresses with mustaches - I'll quit plucking and go shopping!
Mauvais...my friend did help me up, after she realized the only thing hurt was my pride, she was laughing too hard to help much though! (We were only 17-18) Ruth, maybe we can shave our heads, all except a tuft on top, and dye it red for the next meetup. Then we'll really look like chicks! |
LMAO Mauvais I thought the same thing!
|
Ok, I am fascinated.
I don't know any of you, but I.Am.Freaking.Fascinated. I'm fascinated about the guy in the red dress; I'm fascinated about the haircut; I'm fascinated about the DMV, and the split in the middle of the grocery store (but not the bike accident, because that was harsh and dangerous and I can't believe no one helped you, ellis). Wow. What a cool board. |
Welcome Lesbia
Jess~:yikes: thankfully they caught the wacko. Good for you on the new do (hey I'm a poet) I've been thinking of a change myself. Red dress with a beard maybe, but it depends on the shoes hehehe. |
Sflake, could be a look for you, just don't borrow Jennifer's old Candies shoes- you might end up flat on you a** in the grocery store
Hi Lesbia! Ha! If you think that stuff is fascinating wait to you read the rest of the threads! :fr: We are all slightly off balance in a fun way! |
Jessica, I like that you like where you live despite it's downside. :)
Our neighbourhood was like that when we bought here. It's still not "the best neighbourhood", but it's really improved over the last five years. (it's actually becoming trendy to live here, which is a little irritating ;) ) It's important for good people to live in areas that are a little rough... we can't allow entire neighbourhoods to get taken over by criminals. Geez... I'm totally rambling here. Just got back from the gym, and I'm working on my first coffee of the day... Jennifer, 4 inch Candies, huh? Hmmm, re-reading that, I'm now expecting a smart *** remark from Dentrassi. Ruth, you have BEAUTIFUL hair! Don't EVER dye it! (she's got that "perfect white thing" happening. No yellow in it) Hey, Lesbia! Welcome! Yes, we're an odd bunch. :D Speaking of beards, should I be doing something about this blond "peach fuzz" on my chin that seems to be getting a little, ummm... LONG!? :yikes: I mean, I can SEE the black ones and pluck THOSE, but these blond ones are rather prolific. |

Finally the pictures
Okay, we finally found the friggin camera.
This is me. The black dress was earlier in the party and then, my girlfriend convinced me to put the red dress on after I had a few martinis. (The logic behind this was that I couldn't decide which one to wear before the party so, I should wear both of them). That's also my new haircut. |
The red dress (I look pretty sexy when I'm drunk)....
|
Jessica, you are a BABE!! I especially love the red dress... very sexy. :D
|
Beau-ti-ful ! Thankfully the wacko didn't get your red dress  And I love the hair I'm considering layering mine, just for a change. I've had this boring poker straight hairstyle for some time now.
|
I would like to know where the heck Den and Squeak are! Are you girls under the bed eating again?
|
Jesica-YOU ARE GORGEOUS!!! I'm glad you wore both dresses, because they are both VERY hot. I'd rip either one right off your back except then I wouldn't be able to wear them myself!!!
Ellis-worked my *** off making beads this week, and now the b:censored: won't return my calls so that I can SHIP them to her. But I'm NOT annoyed, no really, I'm NOT:mad:   Had a perfect lunch at my folks house today, and then came home and pigged out on pizza for dinner. I think my Mom is now ALSO worried that I am going to have a heart attack and die. But she should remember that when she (or anyone) tries to push me I dig in my heels and rebel in a passive aggressive kind of way.:D :p :D Jennifer-YAY!!! ME TOO!!! My grandmother used to SHAVE HER FACE. No way, I'd rather have a mustache!!! (AND a red dress now that I think about it!!!) Sflake-YUP!! A beard with a red dress is okay, but ONLY with 4 inch candies. HI!! Mauvais and WELCOME Lesbia!! |
Hola!
Just stopping by to say hi. Hi! Haven't been around much with the hours I'm keeping at work with the slave drivers. New job is okay....life is so much better when you aren't exposed to b:censored: all day. But the overtime is killing me. Saw pictures and had to stop to say, Jessica, you're fabulous! :encore: Welcome aboard, Lesbia! GREAT bunch of chicks here! :grouphug: |

He's perfect for me. Here's some trivia: Jennifer Aniston waxes the fine, blonde hair off of her face! WAXES it! gaah! It hurts just to think about it! Oh, and . . . um . . . Jessica? How you doin'? :^: |
Sorry Ellis! I have been either trying to sleep as much as possible, or playing socail butterfly again. Also trying to figure out if this guy I know is being very friendly or hitting on me. I am really really really hoping he is just being nice. But since this doesn't happen often, I can't always tell. Power was out for a whle, so I have to go and reset everything.
HI CHICKS!!!!! Welcome Lesbia! Jessica - Awesome pics! Hope you get some sleep Wildfire! Den - just put her on our growing hitlist. |
Great outfits Jessica! Your party must have been so much fun!
Did the new do' too! :D |
Wow! You look great in both dresses. Good colours for you too! I just have to get cracking on a better wardrobe - ditching the grease spotted t-shirts will be the first step!
Had a decent day on the home front today just schlepping around with Harry and the Doggage. My neighbour brought us a steak and kidney pie (NOT a South Beach food) which is going to take care of dinner. I'm starting to enjoy people feeling sorry for me! We are having it for dinner with a salad and to **** with the diet tonight! You know, Squeak, there was a guy at the dump today who seemd to be hitting on me. Let me know if you ever figure out how to tell for sure! Ellis, I was wearing a non-stained t-shirt - maybe that's the secret. It was also a good colour for me. Hugs to all. |
Jessica, HUBBA-HUBBA! Now don't tell my husband I said that, he might find that rather exciting! :p
Welcome Lesbia! Love the avatar... Den, I can see it if I ever make it to a meetup the Canadian way. Mustaches and red dresses, 4 inch blue Candies, with Ruth's chicken purse and metal bra! I think we'll be a hit. You guys are gonna get sick of me next week, Rob (dh) is going to Holland on Monday for a visit, and I'll have nobody to harrass! I can't torture Suzanne the WHOLE 11 days. I'm kinda fond of her! |
 That sounds like a typical Saturday night in Ellis and mine's neighborhood!
|
Mauvais...
|
We have such a quiet life! We used to go to bed early on Saturday nights so we could wake up at 1:30 to watch the Steve and Tanya show when the Legion closed. S and T lived across the street and had incredible fights. She would pitch his clothes and stereo stuff out the front door. It was quite exciting! Now they are married, have two kids and even go to Church. Sigh! Those were the days!
|
HAHAHAHAH!! I don't know if I'd be dissapointed or relieved!!!
|
Ruthxxx-
|
Also, for Country Christmas last year, T was the Virgin Mary and her baby was Jesus. Go figure! It's really hard to find virgins in Delta. Wise men are a problem too.
|
Wise men are in short supply everywhere Ruthxxx!
|
You chicks are too much
|
Well, this weekend has been ok. A little quiet. Got a few things done around the house. Went to a wake for my friend's grandfather. Made some dinners/lunches for the week.
Hope everyone had a good weekend! & :grouphug: |
Squeak, you're ALWAYS going to wakes! :(
Had an uninteresting weekend. Ate a lot. You know... |
