Lunula - OMG! I know I hated that show for a reason! (PS I love your tag line. I love Janis but now that line has a whole new perspective!).

I love the shirts. I think I'm going to get the yellow one that says "Take Up Space." I have a ballet teacher that always used to yell, "NO! I want you to be LARGE! I want you to TAKE UP SPACE. Not flit around trying not to be seen!" She rocked.

TERRIBLE message that show is sending out. Just when you think you can't get any angrier.....

Hi there! Thanks for the welcome backs. :)

My mini vacation was great. I spent some of it by myself, some with the boy. It was the last time we will see each other until Christmas. Spent all day Friday at the Cleveland Zoo. It is huge! But very well done. Apperently it is mating season for the ostrich. That was something I could have lived a long time without seeing! There was a little girl, probably about 6 or so, that asked her mom "what that was" when the male got off of the female, and was, uh, hanging out. I just tried not to laugh. Just hung out at the hotel that night.

Went to the Science Center and saw an Imax movie on pandas on Saturday morning. Went back to the hotel around 1 to meeet the boy. Unfortunately I got lost and he beat me there. :p

We went to the art museum, the Hard Rock Cafe, and then out for minigolf and go-karts. I lost my skee-ball title that night, but I got it back the next day. :D We each won once at air hockey. Played a few of the video games where we could play against each other. I love the fun competative thing we have. We try to beat each other, but it never really matters who wins, as long as we have fun.

We spent all day Sunday at Cedar Point - a huge amusement park with 15 roller coasters. We went on 11 of them. Including 2 upside down ones, which I am not fond of, but he is. I did get him to take an antique photo with me. :) We look cute. He looks perfect as an "outlaw".

Monday after breakfast he left. :( It was a good bye filled with hugs, promises of letters and emails, and of phone calls.

I went to the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame. The specail exhibit is U2. mmm....Bono..... :devil:

A very good weekend. We had a great time. I also liked the alone time I got.

Now I am back at work. :p But only a little over a week until I leave for NYC. Going there for a few days with the family.

I hope everyone is doing well! It's kind of quiet in here. I think all the Canadian chicks are recooperating from Canda Day. :)

I loved that website too and the oneangrygirl site. The one client that I thought of for the t shirt had seen it already...I mentioned it to her and she finished the phrase before I could...she said, oh, I love that shirt but my mom won't let me get it.

:p yesterday was my birthday and it sucked!

I haven't been feeling well since Monday and it finally caught up to me so I was off sick from work yesterday.

I spent my birthday sleeping, lounging on the couch, watching trash t.v. and eating soup and crackers - How freaking exciting is that! :mad: at least it was restful :lol:

Oh well, we are celebrating on Saturday night with all my friends at a Persian restaurant - can't wait! :T

Girls, especially you Canadiennes...my Aunt's dragon boating team, the Schukyll Dragons...don't know if I spelled Schukyll correctly but I'll check...will be competing in Montreal on July 20th...so, any of you that live close by go check it out. You'll see what I mean about how great she looks and how strong she is...as well as her teammates...she says they are some incredibly inspiring women. and most not youngsters...just dedicated to their sport. :strong:
I didn't go to the gym today :cry:...worked out hard on Monday and Tueday...but, now I missed two days in a row...uh,oh!!
:chin: I'll do some vigorous yoga when I come home from work tonight.

Squeak-Sounds like a GREAT trip!! Cleveland is WONDERFUL!! My mom and I took the kids there last summer and we went to: Rock and Roll museum, Science museum, Hard Rock cafe. Never made it to the other places you mentioned though!! There sure is a lot to do there.

Soozie-Your Aunt sounds like an interesting person! (It runs in the family, right?) I am hoping to have that kind of stamina in my 50s!!!!!

Ellis is in the process of getting a new server, and is currently unplugged from the internet. Hope she gets back soon!!!!!

Hrmm. I was looking over the angrychick website and read her article on The Shield and...well... I have a differing opinion that is probably not popular. I'd like to share it.
I am a feminist in the sense that I feel that women are equal to men and that any treatment otherwise is unjust and should be stopped. I also think that we should be the ones in control of our bodies and all of that. However, I watch the Shield and enjoy the show very much. And I do think that watching one show isolated could make you feel offended and upset, however it would probably be taken out of context.
I also feel that women as a whole should be choosing their battles. And, honestly "The SHield" is a show, not reality. Furthermore there are REAL cops out there that are like that. Ones that when you go to make a report on sexual abuse turn you away with lameass excuses like "It's the wrong day to make a report like that, Miss."
I also think that by making EVERY little damn thing a huge issue we are doing ourselves a disservice and making our plight look petty and making the real issues not look as big as they really are.

Okay, that had nothing at all to do with dieting, exercise or anything, but I wanted to share my opinion, even if it isn't popular. :)

ps... if we want to talk about TV shows that make women look bad, let's take a look at Soap Operas!!! *LOL*
