That's me too - I love walking but I prefer it when I am going to and from somewhere like the library or a good secondhand store or really anything...I like the feeling of getting somewhere and then getting home!

And am doing well with my pedometer tracking...

Did pilates again this morning :D

I walk to most of the places I go to. I am a 25 minute walk to work, 40 minutes to ww meeting, I live downtown so all the shops, cafes, restaurants and movies are within walking distance. DH and I use the van about 3 times per week since he can walk to work from our apartment too.

I think that walking is the only thing that has been keeping me in some semblance of shape for the last 3 years

gypsygoth 06-10-2003 10:16 PM

today, i

1) ran up the first 5 flights and then (huffing and puffingly) walked up the remaining 5 when i got the mail at work today (hey, every little bit counts, right?)

and 2) walked (fast) the 2 minutes or so to the CVS to go trial-size-toiletry shopping for my trip tomorrow, and then back again, and fast up my hill. heart rate was up there all the time and i was red-faced and sweaty by the end (i'm not sure i believe that's a good thing, but so i'm told

good for me

good for all of you... i am so impressed by how much you do. i walk pretty much wherever i go... well, at least, from bus stop to destination :p but for the most part it is nearly impossible for me to get off my lazy ***. oops, should i have censored that?:o

congrats & keep up the good work!

squeaker 06-13-2003 02:52 PM

Went for a walk after lunch, which is good, except for the fact it involved getting a chai latte too.

squeaker 06-15-2003 07:49 PM

Walked a lot (and bought art) yesterday, and to the store today. It is actually really nice outside so it was very enjoyable.

ellis 06-15-2003 08:05 PM

Okay, this is totally TOO bizarre. Here is Squeak, posting in the exercise thread TWICE in a row! Something's wrong... :D

ellis 06-15-2003 08:06 PM

mauvaisroux 06-15-2003 08:10 PM

Yay Squeak!

Well I didn't do my tapes this weekend but I was up at 5:30 on Saturday morning and did 8 loads of laundry -finally got into the building's laundry room- 2 loads of Dh's stuff, 2 loads of my clothers and 4 loads of assorted towels, sheets and blankets-whoo! must count as exercise! :cb:

Then I proceeded to finish planting my herbs into containers on my balcony and then cleaned out the hall closet. ( I needed a nap by 2 pm )
