Yay! I exercised today!

Went crazy doing housework today and reorganized my kitchen cupboards :cb:

ellis 05-26-2003 08:08 AM

Had the most pathetic weekend with my pedometer. Rained all day Saturday, and I pretty much hung about in bed. I walked a whole 1650 steps.
Yesterday wasn't great either. About 3700 steps. Got to get back up to close to 8000 again today.

Congratulations on the housework, Mauvais!! Maybe I should do some of that today... it's going to rain ALL WEEK!!

mauvaisroux 05-26-2003 10:31 AM

Well I actually got off my heiny and got up at 6 am  this morning to do pilates :smug:

I got this great tape for beginners called Quickfix that breaks the routine down into 10 minute increments and you can choose how many you want to do that day. I thought it was going to be lame but I felt the burn in my abs and legs :) not bad for a $10 tape from Walmart!

Tomorrow is my yoga day with Rodney Yee's A.M./P.M yoga for beginners ($10 for the two-pack set at Costo). I figure that Tuesdays and Thursdays are my high stress days at work so maybe yoga will help me prepare for the day ;)

Lidian 05-26-2003 12:28 PM

I am just walking around, the usual stuff. Might walk to the library after I drop youngest DD back at school (this is her lunch-at-home opportunity now).

Lidian

ellis 05-26-2003 10:52 PM

About 5000 steps today. Maybe I'll work up to 8000-10000 gradually...

mauvaisroux 05-27-2003 07:44 AM

Did my am yoga tape today-feeling all stretched out and tranquil:df:

mauvaisroux 05-28-2003 08:02 AM

I did my pm yoga tape last night and this morning I did the Pilates workout for 30 minutes :)

Feeling good :goodvibes I just hope I can keep this up and not lose momentum!

Lidian 05-28-2003 09:51 AM

Walking interspersed with a sort of jog, which I like since I don't get exhausted & it is easy on the knees, but I get a little run in sort of, which feels good.

mauvaisroux 05-29-2003 01:16 PM

I dragged my butt out of bed this morning to do my am yoga tape.
Then a brisk walk to work : )

ellis 05-29-2003 02:56 PM

Worked out this morning with DH.

mauvaisroux 05-30-2003 08:04 AM

Got up at 6 again this morning  and managed to do the Tae Bo workout :strong: now I am in the mood to go to work and kick some butt!

ellis 05-30-2003 08:07 AM

Yip yip, Mauvais! Go and kick some butt, sweetie!!
:grouphug:

Ruthxxx 05-30-2003 09:24 AM

I did a fast walk down to the Village Market with Hershey. She was off lead and huffing and puffing when we got home. I will try it again later today if it doesn't RAIN! I just can't handle walking in the rain!

Lidian 05-30-2003 12:59 PM

I'm walking around. Youngest DD on field trip so have a lot of extra time. Better go walk right now in fact!

Lidian

ellis 05-30-2003 02:44 PM

Yesterday I walked about 12000 steps. :cb:

mauvaisroux 05-31-2003 07:30 AM

Blah:p I got up at 6:30 this morning  and did a bellydance fitness tape....I can't believe I am up this early on Saturday morning:tired:

ellis 05-31-2003 07:48 AM

I can't believe you are either!! That's supposed to be MY quiet time, and I slept in until 7:45 this morning!
Just think how good you'll feel all day... you've already exercised!!!

Ruthxxx 05-31-2003 08:29 AM

I walked again yesterday afternoon with Hershey - to the Bank and then around the Fairgrounds. Hershey actually ran! One of these days I'll run too. Right now I am too afraid of falling and breaking something else! Enough of the shoulder and wrist problems already!
(I hope I'm not turning into one of those frail old ladies who is afraid to fall in case she breaks a hip and has to go to a nursing home and pray for pneumonia to get away from the crappy food! Will you chicks come and visit me - and bring my dogs?)

ellis 05-31-2003 11:01 AM

First of all, you are NOT going to turn into one of those frail old ladies!! But yes, we WILL come and visit just in case you do. We will bring you whisky, dogs, and shrimp toast. :grouphug:

mauvaisroux 06-02-2003 12:22 PM

Got up a 6 am to do pilates - I am starting to feel my abs :dancer:

ellis 06-02-2003 12:34 PM

Yay, Mauvais!! :cb:

Had a good workout at the Y this morning.

mauvaisroux 06-04-2003 10:45 AM

Did 1/2 hour of pilates this morning! :cb:

ellis 06-04-2003 10:53 AM

Good for you, Mauvais!!

I was tired this morning, but had a surprisingly good (well, better than I thought it would be) workout at the gym.

squeaker 06-05-2003 04:35 AM

So far since I left for work I have done about 3,000 steps. Mostly from pacing in the aisle outside my cube. :)

squeaker 06-05-2003 06:47 AM

Up to 3600, and still at work. I am normally getting up for work now. At least I didn't come in until 7:30pm yesterday.

ellis 06-05-2003 07:39 AM

Squeak! That's wonderful!! :cb:

mauvaisroux 06-05-2003 08:06 AM

Yay-Squeaker :dancer: that is a great start! :)

I am actually thinking of picking up a pedometer this weekend -you girls are inspiring me! :D

Today I did my Tae Bo tape-boy can I feel it in my legs this morning!

ellis 06-05-2003 08:57 AM

Mauvais, you'll love it... I'm so glad that Lidian inspired me to buy one!
I find I'm MUCH more active than I used to be, simply because I'm aware of the number of steps I'm doing. I no longer try to "save steps" to conserve my energy. For instance, instead of leaving things at the bottom of the stairs to be carried up later, I'll take them up immediately so there's no accumulation of "junk" on the stairs.

Ruthxxx 06-05-2003 09:31 AM

Ok! OK! I'l find my frassing step counting thingie and get out the magnifying glass so I can figure out how to set the damned thing! My perfect sister does 10,000 per day. Maybe I can beat that. On the other hand, she lies sometimes!

squeaker 06-05-2003 10:00 AM

Well I am up to 4800 for today, and now I am home and going to bed. :p

Lidian 06-05-2003 10:11 AM

I am still enjoying playing with my pedometer! Now both girls want one of their own and youngest DD wants to buy one out of saved allowance money. This is good, since I want to walk a lot this summer and NOT drive the car. I don't like driving anyway!

Lidian

Wanttolosealot 06-05-2003 01:15 PM

Hey girls,
I got back to the gym today. It felt great. I think I need to go more often and get my body in motion instead of saying, poor me, poor me, pour me a drink, cause that is what will happen if I don't stop feeling sorry for me. I need to take action and charge of my life. My life feels like a roller coaster most days, I have real high points where I am on top of the world and than I crash. So time to kick it into gear.
Virginia

ellis 06-05-2003 02:51 PM

Virginia, good for you! Remember how good it felt, and keep on going!! You are a wonderful, strong and beautiful woman!
:grouphug:

mauvaisroux 06-05-2003 04:55 PM

Good going Virginia-you can get back on track :) We're rootin' for ya! :cb: (darn-why isn't there a cheerleader banana or smiley?)

squeaker 06-05-2003 05:11 PM

Viriginia, keep it up chickie! You can do anything. :)

mauvaisroux 06-06-2003 09:22 AM

I did not feel like getting out of bed this morning  but I finally hauled my fanny out of bed and did pilates.

I am actually starting to feel lousy in the morning when I don't exercise

ellis 06-06-2003 10:20 AM

Good for you, Mauvais!! Keep on listening to your body! :cb:

mauvaisroux 06-06-2003 12:06 PM

Thanks for the encouragement Ellis :D

Lidian 06-06-2003 12:32 PM

I jogged in place for some time while the girls' school held its annual dance-in-the-schoolyard event for students (& their hangers-on). And I walked back and forth from school with water bottles and stuff in a big backpack (like a Sherpa) several times. And in 5 minutes we have to walk back again!

It's all good, it's all good for the pedometer....

Lidian

mauvaisroux 06-06-2003 03:32 PM

I walked to work this morning- 25 minutes.

I walked to the Courthouse to file documents for work this morning and back - 30 minutes then did the same thing this afternoon.

I also walked for 20 minutes at lunch to go meet my friend :)

Then I walked to DH's work -30 minutes, then home 15 minutes, then downtown to the mall to buy a bathing suit- 30 minutes and back home again-30 minutes.

Walked to a restaurant -15 minutes and back home for another 15 minutes.

Grand total= 4 hours and 10 minutes

Calves of steel here I come

I should really be buying that pedometer!
