Lightbulb Mini Steps

Okay, I have been having a TERRIBLE time with emotional eating lately, and have been completely unable to stay on track. SO, I am going to declare a mini-goal for the week.

For the next week I will NOT EAT ANYTHING after 7:30 pm.

So that is Thursday April 3rd until Thursday April 10th.

NO FOOD AFTER 7:30 PM!!!

Ok! You can do this! YOU are

If it will help, I will give you a few suggestions that help me do that....

1. go for a walk when the urge comes on (that late at night you'll go to bed almost right away)

2. do something JUST FOR YOU that is not eating <----- this one makes a world of difference for me, cause then I feel so much better about what I am trying to acheive that if i DID eat too late, i feel kinda guilty

3. you can grab some kinda meal replacement bar and snack on that. I usually suck on some low-cal hard candy if my urges get too bad.

maybe these can help!

I will stop eating my children's crusts. Even the grilled cheese ones. And no more bites of sandwiches that don't belong to me.

Hmm. What can I do as a mini goal. *ponder* Eat more veggies! That's it. I've been lacking in the veggie department for the last couple weeks. I will eat at LEAST one serving during the day either at lunch or for a snack, and then my dinner veggies, too. Starting tomorrow because I didn't bring any for snack today. heh.

Den, I was thinking about you today. I was in Big Buds. (Mauvais, do you ever shop there?) It's this kind of "trashy" shop in centre town where they sell EVERYTHING at pretty reasonable prices. Anyhow, they had Marmite in there for $2.99 Canadian. What a bargain, huh? How much is that American? Like 2 bucks? Woof, what a bargain! Too bad I hate the stuff. Too bad you don't live here, Den.

I bought some new coffee mugs and some nice wrought iron plant hangers for the verandah. They had these bizarre candle thingys... Mauvais, have you been in the basement there recently? These big candleabras (sp?) with tonnes of glass bead thingys dripping from them. I almost bought one for the backyard.

Oh, so no eating after 7:30...

So I've got about 20 minutes before my cut-off time. I just had a yummy low-fat frozen fish dinner. High-liner, I think. They're pretty good. Shrimp in scampi sauce. Fish in mushroom sauce with rice....

Ellis, I go to Big Bud's all the time! It is one of my favorite cheapie stores. They have all sorts of stuff like cleaning products and drugstore items that are name brands at lower prices. I buy all my herbal teas there as they are $1.99 instead of $3.49 or more at the health food or grocery stores.

They have all sorts of stuff in the basement, some of it is tacky junk but some of it is really cool stuff-like candle holders, and knicknacks and kitchen stuff. I will have to check out those candlabras you mentioned

OKAY!! Success on day one!! Nothing to eat after 7:30 pm. Had a couple of chocolate shakes and I'm fine. (JOKE!!) I am actually quite hungry right now, but I figure this is probably a good thing. Drinking LOTS of water!!!

Ellis-HEY! I get it FREE!! (My Mom always brings it back from her visits to England.) That store sounds GREAT!!! I want to move.....

Mauvais-SPAM?!?!?! BLECH!!! Only thing worse is Vienna Sausages. A friend of ours used to eat them during our all night Dungeons and Dragons fests. Little finger looking sausages in congealed gelatin......BARF!!! (I always threaten the kids with them when we go to the store though!!)
