Question Career Issues and Turning the Big 50

Almost 50 and still only a substitute teacher. I tried my career path following grad school and gave up due partly to agoraphobia, partly to financial issues and partly to some DV issues too.

I find myself eating a sandwich just over the thought of career insecurity and indecision.

I just feel so lost. I am planning to take a CPR course soon and try obtaining a job in the health field or just so I am prepared as a sub for any "In the event" issues or emergencies which occur on the job.

Where i work as a sub, they are more concerned about sending us to Stanford to learn how to play with children then they are in making sure we are certified every 2 yrs in CPR.

Not all of us teach the lower grade levels. But we all encounter the everyday risk of a health emergency. I think they should support subs on this too.
