Gayle, my DH can be very controlling about things, too. I am used to it, but other people think it's strange when I mention it. I prefer to drive alone and feel nervous when DH is in the car. He doesn't say anything, but I just get nervous from him being here. Most of my driving in the past has been to and from work so I've been alone in the car.

love2garden 10-19-2015 03:48 PM

Carol I felt concerned that perhaps you were limiting going out unless DH drove you. Sounds as if you still go on your own at times.

Most of my life I had no car available. DH took it to the City to work and we live in rural area. Kids went on School Bus, but if they wanted to go places like the ball game, party, or skating rink, they had to find a ride. I'd take the "pick up post" and bring home my kids and others because DH would be home before 10PM.

Occasionally I'd feel fearful as I went up other rural areas I didn't know, and it was after dark. Lots of prayer made all trips safe.

I've not felt trapped being home without a car. DH worked 22 miles away so it was a good thing. My Uncle sent his monstrosity of a car up from Florida with a Cousin when Pat and I were going to College (my 3rd time working toward a degree) His car had the wildest upholstery. However, it made a great trade in so finally I had a little Caviler that wouldn't sell and was marked down a lot. AC, no, however it was wheels. By then youngest was in college in town 2 of my sisters lived. I really enjoyed that time.

maryea 10-20-2015 01:30 AM

Went to the gym this morning. I walked 20 min on the treadmill...started with 3 setting on the straight walking, and left the incline setting at 0 to see how it would go. The weight loss program goes up and down in speed so in time I was doing 6 on the incline and also faster than 3 on the regular. I enjoyed it and know I used to go at a higher number when I first started at the gym in my late 50s. My HR got up to 140 which is higher than recommended for my age, so I began to drop down the speed a little at a time. I prefer not to get higher than 135 or stay at that very long. Toward the end I dropped down to 112 or 113 which was great and I maintained that as I moved on to the bike. I'm not sure how accurate the machines are though. My HR tends to go up fast because I am not in good shape, and it drops fast too. I still didn't get to the weight machines but at least I got my 30 min cardio. I had the mild headache and slight dizziness this am but nothing since, perhaps the Flonase is helping or perhaps it's just a virus and going away on it's own.

I didn't realize other women feel the same way I do about driving with my man as a passenger. My dh does not mean to make me feel that way..I wouldn't call dh controlling at all....it's just that he's always been the primary driver...when we were first married I didn't drive at all...so he just isn't that comfortable and his remarks sound critical when they are meant to be helpful. It's getting better since I've had to drive him in recent years. He even sometimes asks me to drive a little while when we are on a car trip now. While raising kids I drove all the time, chauffeuring them around, starting when the oldest was six. But after we retired and started RVing three months each year, and I didn't drive at all during those three months, when I'd get home I'd often find things had changed...new roads etc, and I began to feel less confident. I still drive but I depend on my GPS a lot when outside my usual area. :D I am very thankful that dh is still able to drive wherever we go, or we wouldn't be doing a lot of the things we do.

Karrine - GFY on the eating discipline and exercise. I do so well all day then mess up in the evening! I don't know why I can't get past that. At least I stopped eating by 9 pm tonight.

Glynne - Sorry that things are still a little stressed in regards to the walking. At least you are both exercising.

I love to travel but am still a homebody...when I'm home I'm happy and don't care to go out much, but when I'm travelling I'm happy I get to see and experience new places/things. Dh and I have several places we still want to get to before we pass on. If dh goes first, my traveling days will probably be over and anyway I want to go to these places with him...I cannot imagine traveling with anyone else so I hope we still get to them. We are planning on going back to the Philippines next year and dh wants to also go to Hong Kong on the same trip.

Started this post quite a while ago but stopped to watch TV with dh. I got bored with that so cleaned the kitchen. One less room to clean tomorrow.
Hope you all get a good rest tonight.

Karrine 10-20-2015 06:12 AM

We have a change in Government here in Canada. The Liberals won the Canadian election yesterday so Justin Trudeau will be our new Prime Minister and Stephen Harper is out after 10 years under him.

Mary - you are an inspiration to me regarding all of your exercise. I am no where close to you on the amount of time each day exercising. I don't use the incline on my treadmill as the flat walking is all I can do right now.

I don't have any driver problems with my car as I'm the only one around to drive it. I would imagine if my situation was different so would the driver.

Have a good day ladies,
Karrine

love2garden 10-20-2015 11:52 AM

Karrine Does the new Prime Minister make a difference in your life?
Glad you are still using the treadmill - activity is good for us and expecially women to help preserve bone density.

Mary Congratulations that your heart rate goes DOWN quickly. I've always been told that is a sign of a healthy heart. Trip to Philippines sounds exciting. Hong Kong? Not as sure. However if you two are that close and your health is OK, why not?

CarolHad to laugh at DH this morning. I said "The ___________ is on the table." And he told me "stop telling me what to do!"
I asked him if he can tell the difference between my giving him information and my being bossy? Evidently it FEELS bossy to him today.

How we interpret another's words can make a huge difference.

DH took the rental car to have lunch in the valley with his friend and some of his other buddies. Good for him to be out with fellows, and with some of the men he used to work with, but talking about other things than work.

Sandy

Wannabehealthy 10-20-2015 01:57 PM

Sandy, no, I don't drive anywhere without DH. The only exception is when he had shingles a few years ago and I had no other choice. I am afraid of driving only because I don't do it. When I did it, it was very easy after the first time, but as soon as he got better he was back to being the driver. He takes me where I want to go, and sometimes drops me off and then comes back to get me. We used to have 2 cars but I rarely drove and it was just costing us insurance, so we sold it. If something happens to him and I have to drive I think I will be fine, or I'll take a lesson or two to get me back to it. It's not that I can't, but more that I'm fearful of the unknown. What if I break down? What if I get a flat tire? What if I have an accident?

Mary, I have also heard that it's better than your heart rate goes down quickly. When I have a stress test they always check my recovery heart rate. You do very well getting your heart rate up there when exercising.

Karrine, I was wondering the same as Sandy, how the prime minister change will effect you. Our presidents cannot serve longer than 8 years and we will be getting a new one next year. Sometimes it's a Democrat and sometimes a Republican. I don't usually notice a difference in my life either way.

maryea 10-20-2015 05:24 PM

I've been cleaning house all morning and now taking a break before I shower and go out for a haircut. The reason I had so much to do today is because I didn't get it all done yesterday. Only one task was for today as this is suppose to be my "free" day. The day I try to do my own thing...schedule my appts, do my shopping etc. Today was also the day we usually go to dh's retirees brunch (once a month) but I felt I had too much to do so dh went alone. He is going fishing this afternoon. Despite playing catchup, I've had a good morning.

Funny thing about Halo...she seems to be afraid of the baby gate. At times she is allowed in the living for short periods...to look out the window, or to sit with her master (our son). Yesterday, she was restless so I asked her if she wanted to go in and look out the window. I could tell she wanted to so I slid the door half open so she could go in...no, she wouldn't go in. Then I held it up so she could go in...no didn't like that either. So I completely removed it and placed it against a wall (this is what I've always done before), and she went in and happily jumped on the love seat, and looked out the window. A few minutes later though, I checked on her and she was perched on the love seat, looking very uncomfortable, staring at the gate! I called her to come out but she wouldn't even walk by it, so I ended up letting her out the other living room door. She's never showed fear of the gate before. She's less restless now and although I can tell she still wants to go in the living room, she doesn't whine about it so much. This morning after she was let out, she went straight to her bed in her master's room and slept most of the morning. I have caught her twice on the chair and recliner in the family room but now we keep something on them when we are not sitting there. Doesn't look so good but is keeping her off them. To true dog lovers it probably sounds mean but it keeps her odor and drool to a few easier to clean places.

Carol Sue - Do you have AAA or some other road insurance? I try to always have my phone with me. Sometimes you have to wait a while but I really like knowing I have it just in case I can't reach dh esp since he is often fishing a long ways away and sometimes without phone service or he doesn't hear his phone. Many years ago, I had a flat tire. There was a cop either right behind me or two cars behind me, I forgot...but he was watching me, and told me he wondered what I was going to do. It happened at a stop light...I waited for the light, turned the corner, and pulled over. He pulled up behind me and changed my tire. So nice of him cause we didn't have AAA at the time and dh was working in OR.

It is good that my heart rate goes down fairly fast but it is not a good thing that it goes up so fast. If I were in better shape it would take longer. Most any activity makes my heart rate go high quickly these days. I need to work out more regularly and get in better condition. I try to do something daily but apparently it is not enough. At our ages one day without exercise sets us back a lot.

Sandy - If it weren't for dh I'd probably not go back to the Philippines even though I'm glad I've been, this will be my 3rd trip. I get a little bit sick every time and it is such a long trip and I dread it. It is hot and humid I don't like all the little creatures that exist in that type of climate,:D. However I married a Filipino and he still feels a need to visit his home country so I do it for him. He has never gone often but used to go back on his own as we couldn't afford for the whole family to go, but I insist that he only go with me now. I got tired of his leaving me for the military and his family. I don't know whether I will like Hong Kong. Most people I know who have gone there have done it for inexpensive shopping, but I really don't care about shopping anymore. I am interested in China though. I'm sure it will be interesting and I like new experiences, that's why I love traveling. I've had some experiences I never want again (like getting lost in a cave) but I have also had many I will always treasure in my memory. My biggest concern is if something happens to dh...how will I get him to the help he needs... Our oldest son went with us last time but don't think he'll be able to go this time. Having him would be very reassuring, however, I trust that God will help me if it should happen, or He will protect us from it. Of course it could be me that has the problem, in PI dh would have no problem since he speaks the language but he doesn't speak Chinese.
From what I've seen in PI, most people can speak English even though not all feel comfortable speaking it esp those who rarely are out of the provinces.

Well, I've rested long enough, time to get ready to go out. You all have a good evening.

Karrine 10-21-2015 06:20 AM

Good morning ladies,

I'm going to do a little deeper cleaning today in that I normally wash my kitchen and bathroom floors with a rag mop and vinegar water. It is time though now to get down on my hands and knees (wearing knee pads) to really scrub a few areas that are getting darker in color. My oven is a real mess and I might tackle that today too. I'm really bad at not cleaning my oven often enough.

Sandy and Carol - Under our new Liberal Government I don't think we'll do any better as a country because Trudeau has made too many campaign promises both for home and abroad, some of which I don't agree with. At any rate because I am now considered to be a low income senior none of his changes will affect me personally.

Mary - Poor Halo - afraid of the baby gate. Hopefully she will eventually get used to it. I have only made 3 trips that are a "little" far from home, all to the USA. To go to China would be an awesome experience.

Have a good day all,
Karrine

Good morning GG's,

It is dreary out today ~ cloudy ~ looks like it wants to rain, but weather app says 0% all day.

Days seem to fly by so fast. Last time I posted was 18th. Doesn't seem like it was that many days ago.

Starting back with physical therapy today. Through the insurance, I was allotted 35 sessions for the year. I had used only 8 of them before I had to quit because of the go-round with being off my RA meds and the pain from that made it to where I just could not do it, so I could still have some more sessions available to me and thought I would use some of them before the end of the year. With a change in insurance, I might not have that option next year. I went for the sciatic pain. It is some better but not all gone. I don't know if it ever will be all gone, but the exercises help. I had quite a list of exercises to do ~ maybe she will teach me some new ones.

We have some other things to do while we are out ~ vote, flu shots, a stop at the grocery store.

Do any of you know what makes you dream? Just wondered. I have been having dreams every night lately. Not nightmares, just weird ones. Somewhere I had read that you dream when you are in that good restful sleep. But when I dream, it doesn't feel restful to me. The dreams are unsettling. It seems like they happen right before I wake up. Sometimes I can remember them, sometimes not. The one last night ~ someone had stollen my bicycle. Often times, it seems like parts of the dream incorporate into them things that had happened or been thought about during the day. Yesterday, I had been going through some old recipes ~ looking for one my son was asking about. So, in the dream last night was a lady whose recipe I had come across during my search. The only thing different that I could think of as to why I am dreaming when I don't usually is that I am having to take iron for a low iron level, and vitamin C.

Karrine ~ a confession about my bicycle riding. It is not the two wheeled kind ~ it is a 3 wheeled one ~ they call it an adult tricycle. The town I live in has this whole network of nice hike and bike paths. I wanted so badly to ride a bike and enjoy them. There was a ladies bike in the garage that one of our kids had left behind after they moved to their own place. I know how to ride a bike, but hadn't been on one in years. I asked if I could use it. I lowered the seat, got on to test it out and fell off it right in the driveway. I never made it out to the street. Maybe that was a good thing.

I had seen these three wheeled ones, and had wanted one for a long time. Since way back when my son was little. I used to ride my bike and he would be in a back pack on my back. I didn't have one of those kid carriers on my bike. That is why I wanted one of the three wheeled ones. They have a basket on the back, and I thought it would be more stable for carrying my son.

Here is the saga of my bikes. I bought one of the three wheeled kind. Found it online at Walmart. I liked it, but the seat didn't sometimes feel very comfortable. I would ride along with my daughter when she jogged. Trying to go up a slight hill and keep up with her, sort of made my back ache. During my search for the bike I got, I had also seen pictures of recumbent bikes ~ where you are seated more like in a chair with a back on it. I thought that would be better for me. So, I sold the one I had and found a used one of those. My husband wasn't thrilled about me wanting to change, but helped me get it. I had that one for a while, but it didn't work like I had hoped it would.

I started looking again, and found another one ~ not a recumbent. More like the first one, but with a different kind of seat ~ a bench sort of seat instead of a regular bicycle type seat. It was used also and a great price. I was afraid to tell my husband that I wanted to change again, but finally thought it doesn't hurt to ask. Surprise, he let me get it. That was finally the one that worked for me. I love it. I told my husband he could sell the recumbent one, but he was reluctant to do so, seeing as how I had changed my mind a couple times already. He decided to hang onto it until I was sure I would like the new one. As it turned out, he started using it and he loves that one. So it all worked out great.

Guess I had better get off here and start getting ready for these errands/appointment. Thank you for listening to my saga. Writing therapy I guess. It helped me to keep my mind of other things. (That blue mood kind of continues.)

I'll do personals later on.

The pictures are of the three different bikes I mentioned above.

Wannabehealthy 10-21-2015 11:15 AM

Mary, I'm glad to hear that the change in the timing of your meds is helping. It makes sense, as most people eat a bigger meal in the evening. One time I checked my BS before dinner and it was 169. I only took 1/2 of an Amaryl, but woke up during the night with a BS of 44!! That was so scary that I'm very careful before I take it. I probably didn't have much carb at dinner to offset the pill.

DH would never consider getting AAA. He feels that he can fix anything and he is usually available. One morning when I drove to work I hit the curb when I pulled into the parking lot and got a flat. I called him, as he had not yet left for work, and he drove out and changed the tire then went to work so when I came out of work it was fine. Another time I got a flat on my way to work. This job was farther away. I parked the car and a co-worker came and picked me up. Then I called DH after work and told him to come get me and bring a tire for my car. LOL He had winter tires at home already mounted so he just switched it out. I have also had a couple occasions when my battery went dead but there was always someone around to jump it for me. I guess I just lucked out. If I was alone, I might have AAA.

Gayle, they had a 3 wheel bike at Goodwill recently for $175. It was like your first one. It sold quickly. There one day and gone the next. It was used, but in excellent condition, as if they hardly used it. It would be good for me but I would have to haul it somewhere to ride it.

Sandy, DH doesn't care if I tell him what to do. He just ignores me and does what he wants. LOL

Poor Halo is confused. LOL She just loves her comfort, doesn't she?

I would love to go to some of the places you go but it just doesn't fit into our budget. DH and I probably wouldn't agree on where to go. We both would love to go to Hawaii but the plane ride is so long.

Karrine, I was reading in our paper about your change in Prime Minister. It sounds like it would compare to our having a Republican president and then switching to a Democrat.

I also laughed. Recognize this is something I experience, too.

I agree that for most of us it really doesn't matter who is in the top position of government. Things move so slowly that it seems nothing much gets done.

Gayle Altho I have a great bike, 2 wheeler, I had same experience you did and gave up. No room to store a 3 wheeler. At least Pat can use my bike and helmet if she wants to. So far she prefers to hike. I did appreciate the pictures of each of the 3 bikes.

Re: Physical Therapy, I'm so much stronger after sessions of about 20 to 25 in the Spring of 2014. Some of the exercise I've continued when commercials are on and I'm restless. Sure hope they solve your issues.

Mary Wonder if Halo had a bad experience with a gate before he came with you . . . I agree, we didn't let our dogs on furniture. Like you, I was the one cleaning and my word finally got thru.

Karrine Like you, we are home, retired, on limited income and many policies don't apply to us.

We picked up our car and it looks great after the repairs from being rear-ended. All went smooth. Glad to get rid of the rent a car that was uncomfortable, hard to drive and very hard to get into.

AAA is another thing we dropped when DH's pay check stopped. We rarely go out of state and like some of you, we each carry a cell phone that makes me feel less afraid. Night trips are very rare, too.

Time to help DH find something we have that he just purchased another of. Time to clear out some of the kitchen gagets that seem to multiply.

Sleep tight, dreaming or not, and wake up tomorrow feeling great! Sandy

maryea 10-21-2015 08:25 PM

Nice day...Halo did a little better in some ways last night...she started whimpering at 1:30 am but she did take breaks to sleep between the whimpering. She never comes into our room even though we keep the door open..I think she comes to the doorway but sits there to whimper. I worry that she may have an accident but so far have never gotten up because I don't want her to think we will let her out anytime she wants in the night...been through that enough. I always let her out if she's whimpering at some point from 5 am on. Today it was 6:30 am. If she started barking in the night I guess I'd give in but so far since she has free run of the house (except for living room), she just whimpers sadly :( I'm not sure how much sleep I got but I know I was awake listening to her a lot. Once awake, she goes back an forth from one end of the house to the other for hours with short breaks to sleep (or at least quiet) in between.:dizzy:

Halo is kind of high maintenance. She's a very emotional (hormonal:?:) dog...she needs frequent interaction with humans and prefers all of us together and around her unless SHE chooses to be alone.
She also is perfectly content if she is alone with her master when he's here but that is not that often. Many nights he comes home but then leaves soon after, and she is left so sad and pours it all out to us for quite a while afterwards. Occasionally she doesn't realize he has left and she looks for him and comes to ask us where he is. You can imagine her excitement when he comes home. Basset Hounds are known for their talking...she has at least five ways of communicating....whimpering, grumbling, a sort of singing sound (usually when going to sleep), barking and howling. I suppose she can growl too but I have never heard it.

Today she got her dry shampoo bath...as you recommended Carol. I had a hard time finding it and ended up with human kind and am hoping it's ok. Never tested on animals which is good but in this case it would have been good to know results. Dh did it and clipped her nails and we also sprayed her teeth and mouth as best we could. We feel a lot of her bad odor comes from her mouth. I keep meaning to take her in again for her grooming but I just haven't gotten to it so dh has been doing it.

Sandy - She is scared of many things...loud noises (vacuum!), sudden movements, a cloth or bottle in our hands...if she sees it she won't come in the house, and now the gate. I think with the cloth or bottle it's not really fear, she just doesn't want anything done to her however she doesn't fight us once we are doing it. She also will not stay in the back yard alone very long. From what I've read that is also typical of Basset Hounds.

There are road service companies that are cheaper than AAA, but we like AAA's travel benefits. I have wondered whether we really need the service since we can pay for towing, lock service, tire changing etc. When we started with them that would have been difficult for us perhaps, and now we just like the convenience of it. As dh ages and we don't travel so much, we might not buy it.

Carol, that's a scary low bs! Glad you tested...did you feel symptoms? I don't think I ever have the issue of not getting enough carbs! :D and esp in the evening! I'm getting some really nice bs about 1/2 the day now, sometimes more. If I'd just eat better, I think they'd probably all be good. We just switched to the Humana Pharmacy for diabetic supplies. Dh had a problem with US Meds not finding him as a member after we became members of Humana Insurance and got a new Primary Care doctor. So far no problem for me, but I prefer his meter to what I have right now so today I switched too.

If you think the plane ride to Hawaii is long you wouldn't want to go to the Philippines! I would love to go to Israel too and that would be even longer. Australia too.. that so far has not been as much interest to me, but who knows..just wish it weren't such a terribly long flight. The trips highest on my bucket list are: Israel, China, and several places in Europe and I really want to go with dh, my favorite traveling companion.;) Plus without him I won't be able to afford going.

I think one day I might get an adult tricycle too. Some of the kids have suggested it to me. I haven't been interested for years but maybe some day I could be. I'll keep a lookout for a good deal. Dh bought a very nice bike (2 wheel) about a year or so ago. Son helped him find it but he doesn't ride it often. I think I would like the kind you have now Glynne.

Dh lost his glasses...he has an old pair but doesn't like the frames. When we went to get one full pair and new lenses put in the old pair, it was cheaper to get two full pairs. He loves the new ones but they were over $500 so cheap is not really the right word and he only wears them for driving and TV. However he looks very handsome in them. :) That will set my savings for a new kitchen back a bit. :D

Karrine 10-22-2015 06:39 AM

Good morning ladies,

I sure had a hard time getting into some very awkward and hard positions to clean my oven yesterday. I'm actually hurting a bit today from that endeavor lol.

Gayle - I hope that your change in insurance covers your physical therapy especially since you have sciatica. I once had that for 2 years before it went away. I dream all the time and sometimes I wake up wondering how I could know or be that smart for what is in my dreams LOL. Your 3 wheeled bikes really look good and great that you finally found the one that works best for you. Thank you for the pictures and I hope your blue mood lifts soon.

Carol and Sandy - I have CAA because I had 2 flat tires just one week apart. Once I was on the highway when it happened. If it wasn't for CAA I would not know who to call not knowing any garages or having a cell phone that would tell me a nearby place to call. I just have a cheap flip cell phone that is pay as you go that I only use to carry in the car with me. My only travel is to visit my daughter so I sure don't get all the benefits of the membership except for peace of mind knowing I have someone to call. I follow your American politics with interest. I wonder if it will end up being Trump and Clinton in the final debates.

Mary - Sounds like Halo is "more" of a man's best friend than other breeds. You sure are good to her.

I go for my flu shot this afternoon and need a few groceries. Other than that I have no other plans so far for today.

Have a good day everyone,
Karrine

Wannabehealthy 10-22-2015 09:50 AM

There's one problem about having a cell phone...if you want to call a garage when you break down you have to have their phone number. It's OK if you just want to call a family member to help you. One time DH and I broke down a few miles from home. He knew right away what was wrong and it was not something that he could fix, so he wanted to get it fixed at the garage where he gets his state inspections done. We didn't have their phone number. I called directory assistance, but we didn't know the exact name of the garage, but the woman at directory assistance was able to find the number when I told her the location. They have a tow truck, and they towed the vehicle to their garage and then drove us home. We used to carry a phone directory in the trunk of the car in case we needed a phone book. That garage closed and now he uses another garage, but the new one does not have a tow truck, so we would have to call a towing company to have the vehicle towed to their garage. It's very seldom that DH has our vehicle repaired at a garage, but in this case it involved the gas filter that is inside the gas tank. DH did not want to play around with removing the gas tank, so he paid $$$. I know if I was alone I would probably have AAA just for peace of mind.

Gayle, now that it's time to either change or renew medicare insurance, I usually get a booklet that lists all the different insurances, their premium, and deductible or copay. For some reason I didn't received that booklet this year. I almost always stay with Highmark, but they have a few different plans and in the past I have switched from one to the other. I like to make sure I'm chosing the right one for our needs.

Mary, when I first woke up with that low BS I felt fine. I went to the bathroom, then I started to feel shaky so I decided to test. When I saw the 44, I sat down in my recliner and yelled for DH to get a piece of candy for me. He always has hard candy. I was mad at him because he gave me the candy then went back to bed. Something could have happened to me and he would have been asleep. I waited 15 min, just letting that candy dissolve in my mouth then when I tested again it was 98. DH doesn't understand much about diabetes. In fact, for over a year after I was diagnosed he kept saying that I didn't have diabetes.

Our dog is young and can hold his bladder for a very long time. As they age, they can't hold it as long, just like a person. He has never woken us up to go out. He has free rein of the house but wants to be where we are all the time so he sleeps in our room, in a little bed next to my side of the bed, or under the bed. I don't care if he sleeps on the furniture, but the only place he goes is up on the back of the couch. When we first got him he wanted to be on the bed but after a couple times of chasing him down he never tries to get up there again. Some people, like my step-son, tell me that they are sorry they started that with their dog.

Sandy, I was going to look into physical therapy for my elbow/arm pain, but I just realized last night that it hardly hurts anymore. My hands still hurt a bit. I also noticed that my psoriasis has cleared up in a couple places. It it autoimmune, so I have no idea why it is clearing up. If I did, I would make an effort to continue whatever I might be doing. I have had a bad cold for over 2 weeks and I'm wondering if that has something to do about it.

Karrine, we are not supposed to discuss politics here, but I will say that many people are wondering about Donald Trump. LOL He is not your typical presidential candidate and is causing a lot of discussion!! It will be interesting to say the least!

It's been a quiet day, just Halo and I. I did the daily tasks and changed sheets on the small bed in my office. I also made a really good beef stew. It was supposed to take five hours but I cooked it at a higher temp the first hour so it was done in three hours. We weren't hungry for it yet so waited til after our son got home. It was still slightly warm and everyone liked it. I made rice for dh as he likes stew with rice even with the potatoes and made a crab salad to go with it, but son and I just ate the stew.

Well fortunately we have smartphones and can look up a garage, a restaurant or whatever very easily so don't have that excuse to have AAA even. Guess we are just used to depending on it.

Carol that is scary about your low BS, and I think your dh should have stayed with you until you knew it was up again. My dh sometimes doesn't understand my need to have him close by when in bad pain or sick too. I would be the same way with that low a bs. I think it's because he is always so independent himself and has rarely had pain or sickness in his life. He rarely complains or asks for help even when he does need it but because I do I just naturally watch over him. LOL your saying he denied you have diabetes so long...when I was pregnant with our first child, I wanted to shop for maternity clothes (I needed them!), but he didn't think I needed them until he actually saw me in them.

We are planning on getting our shingle vaccines tomorrow...found out our insurance covers it.

Have a good evening!
