Hoping to get back on track this morning with my eating and exercising. My pain is not too bad this morning and I slept so-so so I'm going to the gym to do whatever I can do. I had an egg and whole wheat toast for breakfast. Ok, the egg was a leftover deviled egg but it was an egg. I rarely eat eggs although I do like them sometimes.

Also need to get back to cleaning house better. I've neglected my house a lot during all my sick and painful time plus the holidays. I have to get back on track with so many things!

Well, I dropped down almost 2# of my holiday weight. It's a start. Also got a few things done around the house yesterday. Today's a lazy day here...we both want to go out and do something but can't think of anywhere we want to go.LOL Such is retired life some days. So guess I'll continue to work on getting my house back into better condition.

I finished a good book the other day but can't remember the name of it. It was about a fraud investigator who ends up finding an abducted child.

I see Bobbi and I are the only ones posting. Guess everyone is busy or exhausted from the holidays

Hello everyone! Thought I'd jump on here for a minute.. We are going for our "Early Anniversary" dinner tonight at the Red Lobster. My cousin, her hubby and and daughter are here and this would have been my Aunt and Uncles 68th anniversary so they always try to do something nice for her. He passed away 14 years ago. WOW! Just doesn't seem possible. They called us up and asked us to go to, along with my brothers and my sister. Today is the day my sisters first husband died 30 years ago. So it is kind of a special day for all! we had planned on going Tuesday for ours, but this is really special!!

Hope everyone is having a good rest of the year!! (snicker) I hope to get back on track after the first BUT NOT UNTIL!!

Catch you later..

Personally I'm not really interested in any "weight loss program" any more. With being diabetic and the colon issue, I have to eat a certain way and most of these programs don't work all that well for me...I would still have to keep my issues in mind all the time I'm trying to work the program. It's easier just to try to eat right and count calories. Count calories seems to work the best for me.

But that said, some of you might like this. If you are interested in Weight watchers and don't want to pay, I happen to stumble onto this site.

I think WW new plan though does not count points. Sounds like you just have a list of foods to eat and choose each meal. But I've never tried it.

Good evening GG's,

I haven't been able to do much posting here, we have Maddie during Christmas vacation and when she is here, you don't get much else done ~ LOL.

Bobbi ~ you had said what a pretty little girl Maddie is. She is, but lately, oh my gosh ~ she is going through a sassy rude stage. It makes my heart ache ~ I want my sweet little girl back. We just keep reinforcing to her that she can't talk to people that way ~ that we talk nicely to her and she needs to talk nicely to other people. She has even had to do some time outs.

Taking a break, or maybe done now for the day and going to just gork. I worked on some organizing in my sewing room. I had stuff in plastic (walmart type) bags and labeled as to what was inside them, but finding what I wanted took too much time that way, so I put the stuff in clear plastic bags ~ now I can see right away what is in there. I am much happier with that. It probably sounds like a weird thing, but I am enjoying so much, getting stuff organized and straightened up. I got so behind on things while I was working ~ always too tired, or not enough time.

Here is something I made that made me happy. I had these Holly Hobbie dish towels my Spanish teacher from high school had given me for a wedding shower gift. I had never wanted to use them ~ because after a while of use they would get cruddy and they were too pretty and special to get ruined. So, I hung onto them for all these years ~ and finally thought of a use for them. I used the towel and a yellow bandana, and made a cover for my sewing machine.

Hope you all are having a nice weekend.

Take care

Hello,

Hoping I can join you all for the new year. I am 56 and single. I belonged to this site in the 2000's, and was not actually successful, but am wanting to have some support at this time.

Around October of 2012, my doctor pointed to my stomach and said "Is there anything that makes that go away?" I had gotten up to about 198 lbs. I am 5'5". So I mentioned Atkins had taken inches off in the past but was too hard to stick with.

So on 12/29/12 - after going on a carb binge and gaining 16 more lbs I started my diet.

I am 55 lbs down (or my doctor would think 40). So the loss has slowed way down and am looking for support to keep going - would like to lose another 35 lbs. Will settle for losing 20 lbs this year.

Starting Year 2 today.

Evening all...gee whiz...Take one step forward and fall back2. We got the pool pump fixed. Yesterday when DH was getting ice for the cooler he must have hit the switch in the freezer and now we have no cubes. Found bites of the switch among the cubes. Sears closed their store here in town, so I went online and signed up for would you believe a service call tomorrow between 1 and 5pm! I'll believe it when the guy rings the door bell.

Just ordered some protein shakes for DD. Better try them for taste now. Got her coffee , expresso, latte, chocolate. Oh and a shaker mug thingy. Am so anxious to see her sugar levels come down. Gonna be a long 8 week wait.

I am to see the orthopod on 1/16 and am going to set up getting both knees done. I don't walk anymore just lumber and bounce off walls. I will be a new k3. No afib and squeakless knees. Call me Woman and hear me Roar!

Too funny yesterday, on the way home we passed a car with a mini doxie hanging out the driver's window. Dash thought it was Giggles and started barking and wiggle so hard the car shook. He does love his wee girls.

Bobbie loved the skiing pictures.. I used to down hill ski with my family as a teen..hoping you all are happy and sassy rosey

Hola - just popping in... I have guilt at abandoning all of you, dontcha know?

I'm sickly, puny, and pathetic. We had a patient on Friday with breath so bad it made my eyes water... by the time she left, my throat tickled... by the time I got home, it was on fire. I've spent yesterday and today barely functioning (I'm a big baby... you might have noticed). I did change the sheets and take a shower today; that exhausted me, so I took a 3 hour nap in the clean bed. I'm still off tomorrow and may well be off on Tuesday. We're off on Wednesday for New Year's Day... sounds like a plan to me!

BuddhaBelly - welcome! What other name can we call you? I think your doctor is a Jerk. You'll find, it you hang around here, that we don't give stinkin' doctors a lot of slack. We're more into respect.

KarenFL - are you going to try to do both knees at the same time? Usually, they won't do that unless both are really bad. My GF had both done last March, and she's still gimping around. If you have one to use for rehab and one replaced at a time, things seem to go better. If you have your surgery in a timely manner, I'm going to be SO p*ssed! I'm not happy at all with waiting until at least June for my hip, and I might get snarky!

I'm going to drag my sorry butt back to another location and continue gorking. Later, lovelies!

If anyone here owns or manages a business, you'll know that this is the week of the year when you do inventory, re-order supplies, finalize purchases to beat tax deadlines, and make upgrades to your software for the new year, update your telephone calling tree... etc.... It's the week where if you are not in retail, things are pretty quiet and you can get lots done.

Busy - and terribly mundane! No ski trips, or by the hearth stories for me

I just wanted to pipe in with my boring post, because I know there have to be others here that may be doing these humdrum tasks, in their workplace. Hopefully I am not alone!

And for those feeling poorly with colds and post-surgery, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Visiting this forum is nice little interlude from all this other stuff!

Okay...It is 12:27 and the count down begins....Will they or will they not show up or at least call?

Donna both knees are equally wonky. I had orthoscopic done on the left one, but that was a year ago. I want both done at same time and go thru the whole rehab in one shot but suspect what I want won't fly.

Rosey....the surgeon says baby food and Greek yogurt etc. She's definitely my kid, she went on Utube and watched the actual surgery. Shocked the doc for sure. I ordered just small amounts on Amazon. Probably more expensive that way, but if they are nasty less waste.

Karen...More pictures of the new car. Happy Anniversary! Child bride of 6, right?

Bobbie.....cross country skiing and I'm sitting here with slider wide open. They say that is one of the best exercise.

Lynn...are you sure you have to go North? Brrrrrrrr

Mary....a warm hug to you!

welcome Buddha

Can't believe the traffic...gesh everyone celebrated Christmas and then headed South. We go from 4,000 to 10,000 over night. Then Easter Sunday there's a whoosh and they are all gone. Gotta figure out something for dinner. Promised me to start South Beach level one 1/01/14. I will be cranky until I detox. Holy Sh*t I just lost this whole page.....posting asap.
