  • Lol, thanks Marie, I'm dancing too. Woot!

I like the way you organize your calorie cycle into odd/even days. I cycle randomly but lately have wanted to bring the levels down and sort of aiming to increase more structure.

Tera, I agree with Marie that it would be fun if your posted or described your dress choices. Sorry you are under the weather.

I was sort of ill for a few weeks but it was more because of a distressing situation than a bug, I think.

Anyway, okay, re the exercise, I posted my streakity streaks (there were two as I took one rest day) for years and just found it redundant because it is no longer a question in my head that I will exercise. Will I run a marathon (no lol), will I walk a marathon (already have if you break it up into the fitbit miles since October but guess a marathon has to be done all at once), will I lift weights (yes, but not so heavy since the joints kind of hurt these days), will I do yoga (yes, but not as much as I should), etc.

But I'll just post it here when I remember. I don't post my exact fitbit steps anywhere because that would negate the point of having it automatically synch to the fitbit app and website, which is SO motivating. I do 10,000-15,000 daily except the occasional day when I have not been able to make 10,000 due to emergencies, illness, etc. I moved my goal to 8,000 for about three weeks once but moved it back to 10,000 when I found I was doing 10,000 anyway. I keep it at 10,000, although I have been doing 12,000+ without fail for weeks, 15,000 yesterday.

But in the event that I have a shift in my productive life or anything, there could be times when even 10,000 would be difficult to fit in (it is supposed to take about 1 hour/40 minutes but takes all day sometimes lol), so I keep it at 10,000. If I fail to get that it will be less failure that day than if it were moved higher. Mind game.

But anyhow, did do the 10,000 and anymore today will be icing on the cake.

Did 30 minutes circuit training. I log all exercise that is not easily tracked by fitbit onto the fitbit site and it adds to calories burned.

I am also using My Net Diary again and log all exercise but rarely go high enough to use any of them but I have at times.

I don't use a DVD or anything for circuit or weight training, although I have a lot of those. I just have been doing these routines forever so I make it up as I go along.

My whole focus this week is to NOT HAVE A REBOUND. It is a thin line back to the 130s and I do not wish to go there so am being cautious.

    Bye for now!
  • Ending eating day at 1460, really wanted it to be a 1200s kind of day but it creeped up just a bit.
  • yest cals-2905, some yardwork. todays cals-1620, no exerc.

Obviously yesterday was stupid. It is all my husbands fault and I am sticking to that-ha,ha. Thankfully he is out of town for awhile though! I have not been able to exercise for days and days. First I hurt my upper back and neck at the Y, then I felt sick, then yesterday I hurt my lower back pulling ivy. I am a mess. However, Y injury is nearly all cleared up and I expect back will be by tomorrow. At least I was better with cals today and hopefully will be fully back on track tomorrow.

Marie-You are on a roll-keep it going. The new truism, the monthly goals and perhaps daily weighing are all great ideas. My latest truism for inspiration is "Spend less time noting your observations and more time creating your desires." I have a bunch of these I keep on real stickys, pretend stickys on my computer desktop and two collections in OneNote-one for general inspiration and one for job search inspiration. You might guess I do spend a lot of time noting my observations and not enough time creating my desires!

Am2-I enjoy reading about your exercise as well. It is all about finding motivation and encouragement here. You are a winner and we need you to share your winning secrets.

Ok Ladies-I have never attached an image before but I believe I did it. Yeah me! So the first three are wedding choices and the last is for the rehearsal dinner. The lace one may be out because the bride's mom may be wearing one with a top with the same lace (it is all over the place) and it is the same color also. So maybe i shouldn't go with the other dress that is oatmeal because the bride is wearing "champagne" and the bride's mom is wearing "champagne" I think also. Let me know what you think.

  • Tera, they are all beautiful. Only thought I have is maybe as you've already identified the possible lace & color conflicts with wedding choices 2 & 3, maybe just focusing on 1 might obviate stress by having your mind made up. If it were not for the possible conflict, I personally love 2, but then what is important is what you love best. The one for the rehearsal dinner is also lovely.
  • Lol, don't feel much like a winner today but thanks for thinking so, Tera. Weird day, worried about some things but also had some signs from the universe that life is good. Saw a dove, very unusual.

Be that as it may calories feel like they want to edge up from last week, ending eating day at 1560.

Exercise was the steps, 12,000+ & a bit of yoga.
  • Am2, you are a winner - edging calories or not. Thanks for posting your exercise when you remember. I don't always remember but I like it. I would find logging the circuit training a pain. Can you create an exercise and put the cals that you calculated in so you don't have to do it again?

Tera, I'm so in agreement with am2 about the dresses. Number two is my fave but I agree on the color might not be good. It would be wrong to upstage the bride and have everyone think you're the bride. Number one dress is beautiful and I love it. Three and four not as much. Could you do two for the rehearsal and one for the wedding? Just throwing that out there.

Today's cals are ending at 1404. Woots! I had a great elliptical workout this morning. I'm working on getting back to where I was pre sicknesses and surgeries -that would be 13 months ago. Finally the asthma is being decent and I'm healthy. Btw, yesterday's cals were 1290. Things are going well!
    Marie
  • Marie, I was reading one of my more rambling posts up thread & wasn't too clear about exercise logging. The circuit training is just one item on Fitbit & also on My Net Diary. I just enter the item & time.

And thanks for also thinking I am a winner.

Tera, you could also consider doing the colors in 2 & 3 in different colors so as to be different from bride & mom, if you wanted those dresses.

Marie, glad you are feeling so much better.
  • Today is my official weigh in day and the scale read 141.5. I am pretty happy with that. It is another gorgeous day here so I am hoping to get outside and work in the yard again althought that is how I hurt my back so I am not sure I can do much. Unfortunately, it is still not better today so the Y looks unlikely tonight. Waah.

Thank you so much for the dress ideas. I cannot do much in the way of colors since these are all off the rack. In fact, it is not unlikely that someone at the wedding could be wearing the same dress. Oh well, I am not going to spend a bunch of money on dresses so it is a chance i will have to take. As long as it is not a young woman wearing it, it is fine with me. It is very, very unlikely I will pick out the same dress as a young woman since it would be brighter, tighter, shorter and show a lot more skin of course. Everyone likes the lace one the best. It was the first one I found. It actually exists somewhere in gray but I have not run across one. I think gray would look very matronly on me anyway. I have very pale skin that has not held up to the march of time well. I do not worry anyone will mistake me for the bride nor that I will upstage her in anyway. However, I don't want people thinking I am trying to pose like a bride with all that lace. On the other hand, like I said before, the lace dresses are everywhere. There are only so many dresses to choose from. In fact, that is one problem I have with the tiered dress-I think it is a style that is more "last year". I do worry i will "upstage" the mother of the bride. This worry is probably unneccessary since my future DD's mother always dresses beautifully. Do you think if hers is only half lace, even if it is the same lace in the same color, it would be okay? Probably not. You can see I would really like to wear the dress I picked out. However, it is more important that the brides mom has one of the best days of her life. I am leaning towards number one in the interest of family harmony.
  • Woot! Congrats on that great weigh-in, Tera! You are awesome!

I think I misunderstood your first post with the dresses. I thought you meant mom of bride was considering exact same dress as 2. Considering what you just said, I have to say 2 is my personal favorite, lol, not that it matters what my favorite is, your favorite is what you should wear.

I don't think it matters if you both wear lace, since lace is popular.

Cancelled all my plans for today as still feeling anxious or something. Need quiet day.
  • Evening all, I had an interesting day. I spent the day at our local hospital because my friend was having surgery. To say I was appalled at her family's disinterest in being there to support her, would be an understatement. So I was her family today. Worked on my laptop during the surgery and got lots done. So that was good. BTW, my friend came through the surgery well and is on the way to recovery. Before I left this morning I biked on the fluid trainer for 30 minutes. I pumped up the intensity a little. And I did lots and lots of walking through the hospital. I think just in hospital alone, I had about 7500 steps. I figured Am2 would be proud. If I'd known how much walking, I'd have grabbed my pedometer this morning. I will end the day at 1296 today. Woots on staying on track no matter what deviations in my routine happen.

Tera, I agree with Am2 that you can both wear lace. That said, you are a wonderful woman. How would I know, you ask... "it is more important that the brides mom has one of the best days of her life" You are a sweet compassionate woman that has my utmost respect. You will shine no matter what you wear and dress #1 is beautiful.

Am2, I hope you feel better soon. I'm sorry the anxiety is getting to you.
    Marie
  • Glad your friend is on her way to recovery, Marie.

I can relate to your day as something similar is going on in my life now, not exactly the same but similar.

Yea on hospitals, not fun places but awesome walking venues. They always have nice long corridors and lots of places outside.

Tera, you are such a good person to think of your family harmony over which dress. I bet the bride's mom would be happy to see you in whichever dress you choose but truly your instinct should rule and whatever choice you make is bound to be the right one as they are all lovely dresses and you will be beautiful in any of them because you are you.

Taking another quiet day lol. Have officially changed my official step count goal to 12,000 as the minimum, have been doing 12,000-15,000 for weeks anyway, but it was officially 10,000 minimum. Now if I can just get that software to sync right. Oh well.

Yesterday's cals were 1190. Feeling nice and in control.
  • Yest cals-1830, no exerc. I came out okay yesterday despite having dinner at a mexican restaurant with DS and a small ice cream sundae at lunch. I sure have lots of room for improvement with my diet choices! I miss going to the Y. My back is still really stiff today so it looks like it is going to be awhile.

Am2-Good for you for boosting your daily step goal. All that walking is beneficial for both the waistline and those pesky doldrums.

Marie-That was kind of you to accompany ur friend to the surgery. I m glad it went well and you were able to get all the walking and work in. Win,win. Plus u r doing awesome with the calorie count. Woohoo!

Thank you both for the kind words concerning the dress option. It was nice to get my thoughts out and hear ur opinions. I am not certain which dress it will be but there is plenty of time. Actually, the bride's mom has not made up her mind yet, she is still waiting for her lace version to come in. So that will have an impact when I find out.
  • Tera, you are right, walking is great for the waistline & my emotional health. Weights & yoga add to that benefit so I need to make sure I keep going.

Calories today will top out at 1250 after I drink an Atkins shake tonight.

Have good control lately & am 99% sure the # will hold at 1250, would say 100% but nothing in the world is 100% certain.

    Good night, all.

I am going to have a sundae soon. DQ caramel sundae (child sized) is a favorite thing of mine. Lol, I am hoping it doesn't have wheat gluten.

    Good night, all.
  • Evening Tera and Am2, a good day eating wise. As I made my silly odd day, even day, tens day, I realized today was a 10s day. So instead of 1300 or 1400 cals, today was a 1500 cals. I'm ending the day at 1490 so that was sort of fun. Scarily I didn't pace my cals very well and ate the majority after seven this evening. Considering I'm a morning muncher, that doesn't happen often. I walked the huskies in the dark this morning then rode my bike on the fluid trainer this evening. Hence why the calories were delay. My friend is home from the hospital and says she was definitely doing better today than last night.

Am2, it is amazing how powerful the in control feeling is! Since I've been strict on being on track, I stopped the nasty self-talks I was aiming at myself. In control - we're doing it.

Tera, have you thought of showing the bride and her mom the dresses you've chosen? You never know, they might choose the lace one. It's worth getting their opinion and creates more goodwill. Your son is lucky to have you as a mom!
