Huzzah, Marie, just wanted to clarify that I wasn't advocating for anyone getting the Nutribullet lol. I was just sharing my pleasure in my new acquisition.

Tera, my weight loss journey has always been a "diet," not a lifestyle change. Funny how people seem to hate that D word and insist that we call it a lifestyle change.

Ending my eating day at 1535. Exercise was a 75 minute walk and 60 minutes weights.

Stayed active all day, but did take the nana nap awhile ago. Woot!

maryea 09-29-2012 01:18 AM

1160 calories, 12 carb serv. Bs was ok today.

Amara - I use Cafe D'Amore Mocha Free Frappe mix. I get it at Costco. I vary how I make it according to how many cal/carbs I have to play with. I use 1 oz of it usually (you have to measure as the scoop is more) and mix it with 1/2 cup NF milk and usually 1 T or PB or PB2 depending on how many cal I can use. Sometimes I leave out the PB/PB2 and sometimes I even just use water if I don't have enough calories/carbs left. Occasionally I also use 1 1/4 scoops of the mix if I can afford the calories. I admit I'm addicted and my mochas probably cause more problems to my diet than anything these days. I also eat healthier if I don't drink too many. I am trying to limit them. I did ok today but I still could have eaten heathier.

Todays meals
Breakfast - PB mocha
Lunch - cabbage/beef/potato soup with crackers (very little meat and potatoes)
Dinner - Pizza Rolls and salad (abt 1 1/2 cups)
Eve Snacks - less than 2/3 serv peanuts, 1/2 lg apple

Stationary bike - 30 min on 8

Amarantha2 09-29-2012 09:00 PM

Thanks, Maryea. Your mocha drink sounds good. I actually found an Atkins shake that comes in two coffee flavors - caramel and mocha. I didn't frappe it in the machine, just put ice cubes in a glass and poured the shake over it. That satisfied my craving today.

You are doing great! Woot! Menu and exercise looking good!

I am ending the eating day at 1470, exercise was a 90 minute walk.

maryea 09-29-2012 11:26 PM

1554 cal, 13 carb serv

lunch out

Marie 10-01-2012 10:09 PM

Am2, you were never promoting the NutriBullet. Silly, I was asking about it. Your comments made me ponder the purchase and I decided not at this time. But I never thought you were pushing me. You just answered my questions. And I'm on a permanent diet as well. Lifestyle change happens as a result of my constant diet, not on its own.

Mary, looks like you're doing great.

Over the weekend, I was about 1700 cals on Saturday (just a little less than that) and 1450 yesterday. Today I'll finish at 1286 with a nice elliptical workout for my exercise. All is going well on my lifestyle :D

It actually helped me to think of healthy eating as a lifestyle change and not a diet. In the past, I would usually meet a goal (often for an event) and then go back to my usual food choices and gain the weight back. Making healthy food choices was truly a lifestyle change. However, I am always trying to fit in my favorite unhealthy stuff and it is plainly difficult. It is so easy to put on weight, waah. So anyway, I have an event to attend in three weeks and I would love to take off the extra weight I have put on since August. It is going to require a real effort. Today was a good start-total cals: 1585, ex-60 minutes step class.

Marie-A constant diet is a good idea too. You are great at keeping the calories totals in line. BTW-Last FAC was excellent since we were at the beach. We sat on the deck with wine and cheese and watched the ocean waves. Nice. We took our elderly dog with us. She had very little interest in the beach but loved not having to stay home.

maryea-good job posting. Keep on keepin on.

Am2-Another good day-I am going to have to follow in your steps!

maryea 10-02-2012 12:37 AM

Not a great eating day but not my worst either. It was my evening snacking that messed me up as usual.

1658 calories and 13 carb serv.

My doctor ordered enough testing strips for 3/day. The way they did it is not free but very inexpensive much cheaper than getting them from Walgreens. I'm hoping I can remember to check it 3x/day and maybe get better control. But I know my evening eating is my biggest problem. When I am watching TV it's like my brain shuts off and I think I can eat anything. I was doing so well there for a little while but I have let myself get off track.

Amarantha2 10-02-2012 12:47 AM

Thanks, Marie. I was worried I seemed to be pushing it.

I am on a constant diet, too, and also feel that my lifestyle changes, such as they are, or at least my size and fitness level, are a result of the constant diet. "Constant vigilance." (Mad Eye Moody said that in Harry Potter)

Your lifestyle numbers look great.

Maryea, you are looking good there on a lunch out day! Woot!

Tera, you really are off to a good start on your initiative to lose for your event. Nice calorie level.

I did lose 1.2 last week, which was .8 short of the 135 goal for September 30. However, I am happy with that and am viewing it that I did make that goal. I am moving on to my October 28 goal of 132. The date is the Sunday before Halloween so it is my Halloween challenge.

Ending the eating day at 1980. Walked 45 minutes, jogged 30 minutes.

Sunday's calories were in the 1500s and I did exercise, but am too sleepy to look at my records right now.

Happy October, all!

Woot!

Todays cals-1595, Ex-60 min strength training class at the Y. I am back to enjoying my Y classes instead of dreading them, which is very nice.

AM2-135 is incredible. Congrats.

maryea-I hope the extra testing is a help. Good for you for trying new solutions.

TERAPET 10-03-2012 08:48 PM

Todays cals-1530 Ex-60 min step class at the Y. I am fighting a lot of cravings, especially something sweet or alcoholic or just more food. However, I really need to take off some pounds before going home in three weeks and it is keeping me motivated, so far anyway. I drink alot of hot tea.

Amarantha2 10-03-2012 11:36 PM

Maryea, sorry didn't see your postie last night right before mine. Glad you could get those extra strips and hope the extra testing is helping. Good for you for putting in that extra effort. You are doing great.

Tera, I am really happy with 135, just want to get a bit lower to take pressure off my joints. Your cals and exercise are excellent. Woot!

My cals yesterday were 2085 (UPDATED FROM LAST POSTIE). After I posted here, I fell prey to some peanut butter pretzels.

Today's cals: 1500.

Exercised both days but at moment can't even remember exactly what I did and too sleepy to check my streakity log.

Woot!

Marie 10-04-2012 06:46 PM

Hi all, I didn't abandon you. Yesterday I had a medical procedure 150 miles north of town and I was required to stay overnight at a hotel up there. So all is good, the procedure went well and I'm back home. Monday or Tuesday, can't remember when, I lost a little woosh and I changed my ticker. Officially 8 pounds lost. Of course yesterday morning wasn't as nice, but I really didn't care. Travel makes me retain weight and I had mostly saltines for meals yesterday so that wasn't going to help. The scale and I will stay parted probably until Monday morning. :) What I know you'll all like is that before we left town, I couldn't sleep well so I ellipticalled before hitting the road. I'm not to exercise full out for 3 weeks so I found a way to get another exercise in. But I will exercise a little in a day or two.

Mary, glad you got more test strips. I hope that helps you monitor the BS better.

Tera :carrot: excellent news that the Y is no longer dreadful. That's a good hump to be past.

Am2, you are amazing. And I love that idea of falling prey to some food. I've felt that way many times in my life.

Calories for today are going to be a little high but they were low yesterday so it should balance ok. Tomorrow I eat what I normally do and that will be easier since I won't be traveling.
Marie

TERAPET 10-04-2012 09:50 PM

Marie-Nice to see you here again. Too bad about the procedure putting a damper on your exercise routine but at least you are okay for some light movement. You can shake things up a bit with some different stuff.

Am2-i love those pnut butter pretzel things. Well worth the calories every now and then.

Today was another good day. My hubbie is out of town which makes it easy to be good. No partner in crime. I still have the cravings though. I wonder if I could stay on plan if they would actually go away. I have never gone more than a few days without giving in to my cravings-I m a big baby. I went to my Killer Strength class (not the real name) tonight. It is always my last to add back in when i have not been for awhile. It is so demanding. In a few weeks it will be better but in the meanwhile, the muscle pain for the few days following can be a bit excrutiating. (keep in mind I already admitted to being a big baby.) Todays cals-1465 Exer-60 min strength training at the Y.

Amarantha2 10-05-2012 02:57 AM

Marie, glad your procedure went well and you are back! Congrats on the 8 pounds down. Great idea to do the exercise when you couldn't sleep so that you got some in beforehand.

I sometimes exercise when I can't sleep because it makes me feel better.

Tera, congrats on another good day, with the Killer Strength class and excellent cals. Woot!

For me, not terrific on cals with 1905. Exercise was 60 min weights. Also was very active all day with various things and moving things around in the living room.

TERAPET 10-05-2012 08:55 PM

Todays cals -1765 No exercise. I would have liked to have done better. I need to keep that in mind for tomorrow.

Am2-Kudos for posting.
