Well, I ended up eating more last night and did gain .2, which in the scheme o' things isn't much lol but every little bit helps the cause for me. I DID lose an entire inch off waist and that was weird. My arms are about half an inch each added on biceps and forearm muscle areas.
So it's all good, happy. Day 2 sugar free ... |
Got a little distracted with the gc here and didn't track carefully enough...also dh cooked tonight so I kinda estimated that...I think I ended up with about 1408 calories and 13 carb serv. I lost 2.8# this week (recyled pounds of course).
Amarantha - inches lost are good too. |
Huzzah, congrats on the 2.8 Maryea! Woot! Recycled or not, it is a victory!
I am ending eating day for sure at 2135, was aiming for 1500 but oh well. This is Day 3 of my sugar busters challenge and I remain sugar free and fairly low carb. So not too worried about a higher calorie day but want that to be the last one this wee. Woot! Exercise was a 45 minute walk, 15 min pilates and 15 min jog. All before sunup to escape the heat. |
1102 cal, almost 12 carb serv
About 5 min walking, 28 min stationary bike |
Mary, you're doing great. You have much more control these days with the carbs and calories.
Am2, WOOTS! on the inch loss for the waist. That's awesome. Yes, vanilla oreos are evil. Lots of exercise and yesterday's weight was down 3 pounds from the Sunday before (first weigh in). That earth shaking is me doing the happy dance. Didn't weigh today because I traveled over the mountain and back yesterday for a bike ride. Driving longer distances give me weight gain and although I tend to kick the scale, I don't want it shattered through the wall. Tomorrow I weigh again and then travel over another mountain pass further away. So no weighing on Wednesday either. Yesterday's cals were 1700 and I was just fine with that because I biked for 90 minutes. Today's cals will end at 1350 cals. Just an elliptical workout today. All is good in my little world. It is AMAZING how much better I feel eating clean. I know I have this epiphany every time but its so easy to succumb to the munchies and forget eating healthy is more comfort than the food. I wish I could keep that in the forefront of my mind. ;) Marie |
Huzzah, Maryea, you are doing great.
Marie, yes on the oreos ... they are gone from my life. Thanks for the congrats on the waist measurment. I consider that the key measurement for my health and am very pleased with it. I used to lose weight driving up and down the mountain to work, but it wasn't a terribly long distance. I can kind of intuit (is that a word?) how that might cause swelling and thus weight gain if it were a long distance. Ended eating day early at 1500 calories. I like the round number. Did a 15 minute walk and 60 minutes weights. Feeling good but hot. Should be cooler in two days, so they tell us. This is Day 4 of Sugar Busters. Feeling good, lot of inflammation gone. No cravings but I am sort of hungry right now, however, not planning to eat again as it might make me feel ill, just a lot of heat and air pressure here, best to sip water and go watch Rifleman lol. |
Hi Ladies,
Returned on Saturday from our whirlwind tour of Seattle last week. My husband and I lived there many years ago so we had a great time visiting familiar sites and introducing our dear daughter to the lovely northwest. It was very difficult to eat well with all the restaurant meals. Thankfully it is easy to eat yummy, nutritious food now that I am at home. Now to get back to the exercise schedule. I have been to the Y once but I was so sore and tired today I ended up taking a two hour nap after work instead of exercising. It is going to take a while. Thats okay. I felt this way after our trip to Arizona last spring so I know things will get better soon enough. "Patience Grasshopper". Anyway I feel much better eating my fruit smoothies and salads. You all sound like you are doing great. I am inspired to try for those ten pounds I have been dreaming of losing all year. |
Not a good eating day....1793 calories and 15.6 carb serv. Even my sofware, weight commander warned me, :o
also no exercise. Terapet - Glad you enjoyed your time in Seattle...I love that city. We lived there many many years ago and it's always been one of my favorite places. |
Maryea-Wow, is Weight Commander still around? I used that software many, many years ago before I had Excel. Listen to your software and be good:)
|
A midday hi to everyone! Just had to jump in and say I used to have Weight Commander, too. I replaced it with Fitday and a few others but if Weight Commander had a phone app with barcode scanner, I'd be so there. I loved that software. It is a classic.
Sometimes I miss life when it wasn't all on the phone. |
Just popped in to say that yes, Weight Commander is around ...I've used it for years off and on. Now there is also an online version. But it doesn't allow you to enter your foods just your weight. I just like to see my trend (up or down) and for that it's the best. I use MFP for my food diary and on there I just enter my weight weekly.

Hi there, just a quick post to say I'm still here. Work was busy on Monday and yesterday was the speedy trip to the conference. Long drive but great company with my co-worker. Ended yesterday a little over 1300 calories. Today I'll end at 1550 and I know exactly where that additional 200 cals came from. DH and I made bagels again tonight. I love bagels and in the Midwest there are tons of bagel shops. Here there are hardly any. DH mentioned making them and I thought it would be hard. We first made them about 3 weeks ago. The dough was a soft enough consistency to try in my bread machine. It worked perfectly. It is so easy to make them. I weighed the ball of dough in grams, then divided it by 12. Weighed each bagel to the right grams so my cal count is exact. Pretty cool! I ate one hot out of the oven this evening. Well worth those cals. Exercise and everything else is good. Life is good.
Tera, welcome back from the pacific nw. Mary and I both love it here. Am2, you're cruising busting all that sugar. I hope the heat let's up. Mary, if the commander tells you to stop, then you shall listen. ;) Marie |
1261 cal, 12 carb serv

A good day in calorie totals although at the moment I want to blow it. Just got back from the vet with Blizzie and instead of her cast being removed, she got a new one. And the vet found a weird fracture that wasn't on the original. So they'll re-Xray again One Sept 4th. :( Poor doggie girl.

Huzzah, all!!! I have been starving every evening since I started the sugar free but am soldiering on and it is Day 6 for me on that. Calories are higher than this time last week so don't know how that'll impact the weigh in.
Everyone seems to be hanging in. Enjoyed the posts. I have some career issues (not bad ones) keeping me on edge right now and that is making it hard to stick to both sugar free and calorie level so I am choosing to up the cals just a tad. Tera, I lived in Seattle in extreme 20-something-ish-ness lol. I loved it there. Maryea thanks for clarifying that you can't do a food diary on Weight Comm. online and that you use MFP. I'm still hanging in with My Net Diary. Marie, hugs to your poor doggie girl. I think it may be common (for people at least) to get new fractures when healing. I did when I injured my arm/wrist in 2010. As I was healing and doing the PT, they found a few new fractures and told me it was nothing to worry about, although I did lol. Homemade bagels sound good. My mom used to make those. I wish you could send me one through the computer screen. |
