  • Quote: In looking at the Fast Track free menu samples, it's clear this is a low carb/sugar, high protein plan. The breakfast portions are huge and I know that would be a problem for me as I usually have no appetite in the morning. Maybe by front-loading the day he figures there's more time to burn it off?
I think that's it. I have heard that you should eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a queen, and dinner like a pauper. I am a morning person and I feel that I burn most of my calories in the AM or afternoon, and in the evening I am more sedantary, watching TV or reading. I have always been a breakfast eater, but sometimes if I eat a big breakfast it gets my appetite going and I'm eating big the rest of the day. That's when I have to be attuned to my actual hunger. Sometimes I have to skip lunch and hold off until dinner because the breakfast was just too much.
  • Good BFC Morning!
How is everyone doing? Are you losing, staying the same?
Well, I lost 2.5lbs last week, so I am back to 214, before going to the beach.
This morning I started the "BFC fast track". I had eggs, bacon & Cheese omelet, coffee. The 14 day menu is not complicated, its straight forward and easy to follow. There are some items on the menu that I don't like but I can switch with another item from another day. I am not kidding myself, I know it will be a challenge. If I was good at staying focused and on track, I wouldn't need to lose weight. I exspect that is true of a lot of us. I don't know if it is a committment thing or just not wanting it bad enough. Ok have a great BFC week.
  • Hi all,
Well, I lost the couple of pounds gained recently, so I'm back to my low again. It's been a tough weekend, moving my last child and only daughter into an apartment for college <sigh>. I'm going through the refrigerator throwing unhealthy foods away.

I often worder about "not wanting it bad enough." In my mind, I want it badly! But I want to wake up tomorrow a size 9 with a flat stomach, and no flab. I often wonder about people who decide they are going on a diet and from then on they lose.....no gaining back, no backsliding on their food. I wish I could do that, but DH always told me, "Wishes are for fools." I guess that means you don't get anything by wishing. You need action.
  • Guys, I'm wearing a pair of pants that I couldn't wear for 2 years, so I'm a happy camper today! I went to the grocery for the first time as an empty-nester and bought a basket of nothing but BFC/healthy foods! I even bought a loaf of Ezekiel bread and some almond milk to try (have heard mixed reviews). It certainly will be easier to stay on plan and pack better lunches for work. I still can't seem to get in exercise time, as I'm cleaning up my house and reorganizing stuff that the kids have left laying around, but I hope to be able to do that soon. Tonight my BF is coming down and we'll have a roast chicken dinner with broccoli and brown rice with vegetables.
    Have a good day!

Good for you, Webwoman! I too have kept several things that I grew out of in the hopes of fitting into them again. It's a good feeling, isn't it? Lucky you....you don't have to keep tempting foods in the house. DH loves his carbs, so they are always here to tempt me.
  • Good Morning BF Chicks,
I had a good day yesterday and lost half a pound this morning... and I'll take any and all increments! In addition to trying to stay on plan (I don't track, but I think I'm staying on plan) I've been watching my portions on proteins and fats and I think it helps. It's easy to just plop a pork chop or other piece of meat on your plate, but I'm trying to eat some half portions with more vegs and salads, then I'll pack the other half for lunch the next day. I'd do much better if I'd lay off the wine, but I enjoy having a glass or 2 in the evening with dinner. Oh well
  • Good morning everyone,
Congrats on doing well and talking about whats going on with each other. Great to see that you are taking an active approach. I myself have not had a very good week. I started a new job Tuesday and the day was hard. I pickuped a cold somewhere and feel terrible. My food choice fair and the fast track will have to wait a few more days. I don't feel like eating much of anything. So to give it a fair chance, I will continue when I am better. I hope everyone will have a lovely week.

I hope you feel better. It's awful to have to go to work when you don't feel good.
  • So far no additional loss, but I've been keeping on plan fairly well. This weekend may be a challenge as there is a Family Weekend at Miami U. which I will attend. I really need to up my exercise, but have been taking care of other stuff at home, like yardwork. Maybe next week with be the start. Have a good weekend!
  • Good Morning BFC girls,
I made it through the weekend all right, and this morning I'm down a pound, surprise, surprise! This is after going to the Family Weekend at my son's school and eating too much there.

Yesterday I did go to the gym for a while, and did some mowing and yardwork, so maybe that was the difference. This week I'm going to try to get in more exercise - 4 or 5 times I think. Don't know why I don't exercise more, as it feels good physically and mentally when I do.

How is everyone else doing? <crickets>
  • Good Morning BFC chicks,
I've been good the last day or two and lost another pound this morning. I'm back to walking a mile a couple of times a day at work at a pretty fast pace and just that seems to help. I made a beautiful lemon pepper chicken breast last night and will have some of that for lunch today I think. It also helps that there is so much to do at my house (cleaning) and with my computer that it kept me busy last night and not thinking about food. Seems when I sit down and stop working is when I start to think of eating, even if I'm not really hungry. Something about that couch....
  • Hello everyone,
ok, finally over the flu. I did not lose anything this week. I really did not expect to with being sick. Webwoman congrats! You are doing great! I hope that I can get back on track and see some change this coming week. Wow! can you believe that its almost October? I have to do way better in october, before you know it; it will be Christmas. Maybe if we start thinking about the holidays that will be here soon; it will give us that incentive to do better.

I exercized 5 hrs a week faithfully since January. In June, I had to quit due to surgery. I have been approved to go back to it for 2 months and I can't get back to it. I am the one who has to get off the couch and do it, and I'm always going to do it tomorrow. I too feel so much better afterwards.

Glad you're feeling better. I am too, but I am still coughing and it will linger. But I really do have to get on the stick here. Times a wastin'. Slmn11 stands for "slim in 2011". Do I want to have to change it to Slmn12????
