Happy Monday BFC chicks!

Weekend problem: Every monday when I weigh in, I've added a couple of pounds back over the weekend, although I'm not eating that much more or that many more off-limit foods. I'm sure its' a combination of DBF's good cooking, salt retention, an appetizer here and there, and some wine, but it's keeping me from seeing the loss I want to see. Very frustrating because I have to be super good during the week to get back down to my lowest weight again by Friday. Anyone else have this problem?

Other than that, it was a beautiful weekend here, although I spent a good deal of time patching and painting my basement walls. Still have to paint the baseboards, but If all goes well I'll get the new carpet installed on Friday. I'll be so pleased to get the rooms looking nice before Thanksgiving. :-)

Have a good day!

I am up 9 lbs. I know I am eating more than usual but I'm having a hard time cutting back. Also, I have not been exercising. I have been doing some more intense cleaning and that's taking up some time. Just some things that don't get done on a regular basis. I cleaned out my china closet. I don't use those dishes for every day so before a holiday when I will be using them I take everything out and wash them and then clean the shelves and put everything back. It takes a long time but it looks so nice when it's done. I don't want to be putting out dusty dishes for Thanksgiving. LOL I have also been cleaning out kitchen cupboards. Funny what you find in there. I have 2 jars of Poultry Seasoning. I probably wanted it the last time I made stuffing so I bought a new one, when I had a full one in the cupboard. Spices like that don't get used too often. I also had 3 pkgs of birthday candles with a few taken out of each. My 3YO grandson is really into birthdays now so we have candles for everyone's birthday. We must have been buying a new pkg of candles for every birthday.

I have to go for a stress test this morning and that's been preying on my mind. I really don't want them to find anything. I'm not in the mood. LOL I will be able to relax when it's over and they tell me everything looks good.

Good deal on the new carpet, Webwoman. It's going to look so nice when it's finished!

Hi Everyone,
I am up 5lbs. and right now I don't care. My sister's 5 year old great grandson burned to death early Monday Morning and my heart is broken. He was the sweetest little angel and so smart. We will all miss him so. I am sorry to be such a downer. I wish you all the best.

Izzy, I'm so sad to hear about the little boy - there is nothing anyone can say to make it better, but my prayers are with your family.

The beautiful days have turned into dark pouring rain today, and I'd really rather not be here at work at all. Would like to crawl back into bed actually.

Izzy - I am so very sorry about your great-nephew. Words probably don't help at all, but if I could, I'd give you a real hug.

My Dear BFC Friends,
Thank you so much for your kind words of sympathy, it means so much. The last few days has been so hard. The family will not be able to have a funeral until next week. This has made it so hard on everyone. The body has not come back from the medical examiner's and that is the reason for delay. My sister's heart is shattered and she is taking it extremely hard. She lost her husband in March of this year and now this. I don't know how much more her heart can stand. I appreciate your prayers and kind thoughts.

Bless you
Izzy

I got the results of my stress test...everything looks good! My stress level has gone down so low after getting that report. I have surgery coming up in December and it all depended on the condition of my heart. I'm glad that I will be getting it over with. Maybe next year I won't have any medical issues all year! That is definately something to aim for.

Now to get some weight off before this surgery!

Hello everyone,
I am just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I have had a couple of rough weeks. I need to get back on track and get busy losing this weight. I have been so stressed out and feeling so helpless. Now I really need a routine and emplement a plan to regain control.

Hi BFC Girls!

Carol Sue, I'm so glad that your stress test turned out well . Just think that by the first of the year, you'll be all done with it and will be on the road to better health, and losing a few pounds before surgery is always a good idea.

BCL, I've been thinking about you and your family, and understand what a rough time you've been having. Eating well and getting back should help you feel back in control. Hang in there!

I've been at a plateau for the last couple of weeks, but dropped a little bit this morning (probably due to not having anything tempting in the house to eat). Of course that will change this weekend when I go to the grocery and buy "mass quantities" of food for my 3 kids who will be home from college for Thanksgiving. I will be cooking so will also be busy cleaning, etc. Too bad we don't burn all that many calories pushing a vacuum.

Have a great day!

Hi Izzy - I'm glad to see you back. Sometimes it helps to get back to your regular routine when tragedy strikes like this. We will be here to help you.

You know I said I don't do BFC, but I do my own version of low carb IF. I got back to it this week and I am down 2 lbs. Finally! I get off track very easily, and once I slip up it takes me a long time to get back on track, so I am trying not to get off track this time. My blood pressure is down and my rings are looser. That is a sign for me that I'm losing some built up fluid. I'm giving some extra thought before I put something in my mouth. For example, my husband like vanilla sandwich cookies and I prefer chocolate. Sometimes I will eat a couple of the vanilla, but lately I have been turning them down with the thought "This isn't really something I like.". It's the same with Doritos. He likes these cool ranch flavored. In the past I have eaten a few here and there, but I prefer plain tortilla chips. So I'm now passing up on the ranch Doritos. We are really different in the types of snacks we like and I have just not been buying the ones I like. It seems to be working. If I am going to eat something, I want it to be something I really like to make it worth it!

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the well wishes, I appreciate your support. Carol Sue, I am very happy to read that your test went well. Keep making small changes and before for you know it, that scale will come down.
Webwoma you are doing fine, I would kill to be where you are now, I believe that you will reach your goal. I am going to re-read the fast track and try my best to give it a good try. If I could drop 10 to 13lbs. in one week, it would give me that boost I need. I have so much on my plate right now, this week has bought more saddness. My childrens grandmother on their fathers said is not expected to make it through the weekend. She had a stroke and she is 94 years old. Grandma is very ill and she is not responding anymore to anyone. This is going to be so hard for the whole family and I can't stand the thought of her not being around. She has had a full wonderful life and everyone loves her.....she will be missed. My Sons are taking it hard.
I pray that God will give us all strength.

Izzy - I'm so sorry to hear about Grandma. It's so hard to lose someone you love and you have had more than your share this month. I pray that you all can remember the good times you had with her and that it will comfort you at this terrible time.

You are stressing out about your weight, and right now you need to have your mind on other things. Just love your family and get through this holiday season.

Thanks Carol Sue,
I have had alot going on and you are right. I need to concentrate on family for now and get back on track ASAP. I was listening to Dr. Oz and he said that being overweight increases your chance of cancer by 57%. I diffentely
want and need to say good by to the fat. Thanks for being there.

Happy Monday BFC Chicks,

Izzy, I'm sorry to hear about Grandma's stroke and failing health. We had some bad news also, but not our family...One of my twins' classmates and a current Senior at their old HS were killed this weekend in a very violent car crash by a drunken driver going over 100 mph. My kids knew them both as it's not a large hs and it's devastating to us all. The drunk only received minor injuries. Although it's not family, I cannot imagine the grief their families are going through having to have funerals this Thanksgiving week...

These events make losing another pound sound insignificant, and remind us how precious life is.
