This is NOT a Challenge - it is a place for us to record our daily behaviors (behaviours) toward being personally responsible for our EFFORTS. We cannot control our OUTCOMES - weight - however, we can control our EFFORTS - daily actions aimed at losing/maintaining weight.

If you want to give this thread a try, just post 1 message on this thread. Each day during the month, the Age 50+ ladies are invited to add to their original message (using the "edit" button) by updating information about actions they have taken toward meeting their goal of losing/maintaining weight.

Cutting down portions.
No Dessert EVERY DAY. Once/twice a week is enough.
Will try Yoga.
Need help in Low Carbing. Will read about that.
Will Weigh in everyday

Sunday, Feb.22 weigh-in: 231 lbs. A loss of 6 lbs. Yippee!!
Walked 45 min.
23 Made excuses. Beautiful weather. Should have walked. Will start to make appointments for walking at 10 am every morning, beg. on 25th.
24 Made excuses again. Busy with housecleaning. Tomorrow I will walk!!!

Hi everyone! I am still traveling and my internet access has been mostly very poor, but I am able to get on now and then. I try to get my banking done and only do other stuff if I can after that. I will try to post as much as I can.

You may remember I was having trouble losing the last few months. But I have actually been doing a lot better since the first of the year. On Jan 1st I weighed 169.5 and today Feb. 18 I weighed 164.5. I lost 4 lbs in Jan, started Feb at 166. Edited: end of Jan I weighed 165.5 but was up again to 166 on Feb 1).

My calorie goal is 1400 but do allow 1500-1600 now and then. To lose I probably need to stay 1500 or less though. I'm a type II diabetic and I try to keep my carb servings to no more than 12 and 9-10 would be better. My bs are still a little too high at times. Exercise goal is at least 30 min of some kind of intentional exercise. On the road it's usually walking.

Feb. 18 164.5 lbs., 1526 calories, 12.66 carbs, walked 30+ min., stretched and did step aerobics about 10-15 min.
Feb. 19 165.5 lbs 20 min walking, 1415 calories, 12 carbs, bs good.
Feb. 20 165 lbs. at least 20 min slow walking in resort/shopping, est 1670 calories! - Mexican buffet! 14 carbs - very hard to keep carbs down and enjoy a Mexican restaurant!! And I ordered a pina colada...had no idea how many calories/carbs are in those!! Well, now I do!;-( Trying to be careful tonight and hoping I estimated too high...have decided on changes I will make next time.
Feb 21 165 lbs., about 3 hrs slow walking browsing a market, ate lunch out, bs good, est 1567 calories and 15.5 carb servings.
Feb 22 164.5, bs good, walked about 2 blocks slowly, est calories at 2297!! and carb servings at 17!! YIKES :-( Worst day in a long time!
Feb 23-25 offline
Feb 26 164 lbs. bs high, walked 15 miin, lunch out, 1433 cal., 14 carbs - HAVE to work harder at eating less carb servings!
Feb 27 164 lbs, bs high, walked 31 min, making better food choices! Later walked 14 min pulling a large cart of laundry 1/2 the time up a hill. 1219 calories, 12 carb servings. Adding extra protein and fiber to diet.
Feb 28 165 lbs, bs high, walked 42 min., lunch at clubhouse but we shared it, 1362 calories, almost 13 carb servings. ETA: Unfortunately after posting I snacked and ended up with 2141 calories and 18 carb servings! Very bad!

From Jan 31 - Feb 28 I have lost 1/2 lb.
