We had a lovely sunny day today -- it was cold and windy, mind you -- but a good day for a four hour mall crawl. Got the Christmas list whittled down a bit and, of course, spent more than I intended. Also ate too much lunch, another of my problems at this time of year, but at least I didn't end of sick today.
Hope everybody is having a great Saturday . . . see you later . . .

Another lovely sunny and crisp (lovely euphemism for gosh-darn-cold) day. Think I'll do some more Christmas Shopping -- hey, I'm on a roll -- and that sounds like a lot more fun than the laundry I should be doing.
Have a great day, gang -- see you all later . . .

Hi everyone,
I've been lurking but I haven't been up to posting lately. I'm going to try and get back into it.
We had our first snowfall today. Only a bit, 1/2 an inch or so but it makes it seem closer.
You asked about my girls a while back, Meowee. They're doing fine and yes it's looking more and more that they will be permanent. I really don't mind as I am quite enjoying them.
I'm only a pound and a half away from my second 10% goal. I sure hope it's by the end of November.
Wishes for a very happy Thanksgiving to our neighbors to the north. Have a great weekend.
Take care,

Hi, all!! I love hearing all the weather talk. I'm kinda of a weather nut! We had a ton of rain last night, but we're still so far above average for this time of year. Today it got to the mid 70sF, and even now at 9pm it's still in the upper 60sF, and the humidity is off the chart. Of course the humidity around here is why I don't have any wrinkles yet. I'm sure they will be coming, but at 57 and no crow's feet?? Got to thank the humidity for that...
When/where do we weigh in around here anyway?? I do WW online, and I weigh myself every Monday. I track my weight and foodies on the WW site, and I'm pretty good about doing it, but I do need somebody to hold my feet to the fire about exercising.

Morning all . . .
Exercise is my downfall, too CRAFTY . . . and I feel so guilty everytime somebody around here mentions how much they to work out . . . We have such a diverse group on Age 50+, we've really never had a particular weigh-in thread. Some weigh every day, some weigh weekly and some (like me) only monthly (because I get so depressed about the daily and even weekly fluctuations). We do have a monthly challenge thread (take a look up in the sticky area at the top of the forum for the November version -- some older ones will be down in the regular area) where you can set your own goals and see how close you come to them each month. It's kind of slack in there right now (this is such a tough time of year) but imagine it will be in really full swing come January.
Hi DENISE . . . so glad to hear from you . . . and I am certainly pleased that your girls are becoming a fixture . . . did you ever manage to overcome that little 'potty problem'? Got my for you to make your second 10% this month, chickie.
Well . . . I did a little inventory this morning and I think I've got my Christmas Shopping finished . . . except for one misplaced gift (hope I find it soon) and a couple of gift certs and some books to come from Amazon . . . . . . feels great because now I won't have to brave the crowded stores for the next month.
Hope everybody has a great day planned . . . see you all later . . .

Good morning chickies, it is going to be a beautiful day around here today,
they are saying upper 70's but look out tomorrow only in the 40's and very windy even a "chance" of some snow. It's time for it though.
Hi DEBBIE, glad to have you join us. Wish you could share some of that rain with the rest of the country, I would love to see it rain for a couple of days.
DENISE: We have missed you, glad to see you are back. Hey good luck on reaching that goal by the end of November. You are doing so good.
LINDA: Way to go with the Christmas shopping. I finally got started on Saturday. Found a couple of things I knew for sure I wanted to get, now if I just knew what else.
Had a busy weekend. Got a little shopping done and then DH got all of the outdoor lights up for Christmas, while the weather is nice ! then we finished painting our guest bedroom and getting it put back together. Now I am ready to start on my office. Probably won't get it painted until spring now, but I can at least get it cleaned out some before the Holidays. Still don't know where I'm going to put a Christmas tree this year. Seems like my house gets smaller every year.
My weigh in Sunday wasn't very good, I was up a pound again, knew I shouldn't have baked those darn cookies. If they are store bought I don't touch them but homemade, well I can't leave them alone. Better get on that treadmill before Thursday it looks like. Gotta run hope you all have a great day.

Hi everyone,
It's 42*F out in Rhode Island today. The sun is out. They are talking about snow tonight, but just an inch, and then rain.
I'm afraid my weight is going up lately. I was losing a little bit fast, and now am gaining it back. I stopped taking the Alli's, because they don't seem to be working anymore. I'll take a few days off of them and then try again and see what happens.
Setti, I hadn't thought of losing a percentage. That's a real good idea. I'm going to figure that out and see how much 5% would be.
Have a great Monday folks.
Dina

Hi Ladies,
Yikes. -16C (+3F) here this morning. I know it's not really cold but it shows something is coming - and I don't mean Santa.
Meowee, I am so impressed you have been Christmas shopping. I haven't even thought about it. I'm not sure that I could get my head around it right now. About the litterbox problem, it is not over but I think I've got a better handle on it. Whenever she does it (every three weeks or so) she's also very needy (cuddley). I've decided it happens when her IBS is in a flare so I give her an extra dosage of steroids for a few days to settle it down. Seems to be working.
Hi Craftyone. I do WW as well. I'm doing it at home this time. I find I don't need the meetings when I've got such wonderful support right here. Good for you tracking all of your food. For me, that's the answerr. As for exercise, as someone else said on another thread, you've just got to do it. It sounds harsh but it's true. Can you get outside for a walk? Do a cardio video at home? Good luck.
Donna - You too talking about Christmas shopping and decorating. Ahhh..I'm feeling a bit stressed. Were those cookies your Christmas baking? If so, I'm very impressed. I'm the same way, I can pass on store bought any day - but homemade - watch out!
Dina - The 10% loss is a WW thing. Your first goal is a 10% loss - when you reach that it's 10% of your current weigh and so on.
Well, I'm off to the gym and then back to start my Christmas list. LOL
Have a great day,

HAPPY DAY to all my US buddies . . .
. . . and a great big HI for everybody else, too.
Fairly cool and very overcast around here . . . nasty blizzard going on in New Brunswick but we are just supposed to be getting rain in Nova Scotia -- hope they are right. Even though my shopping is done . . . this is the normal shopping day for my buddy and me; and I know she wants to get lots of stuff yet.
Sooooo . . . I'd better get a move on. Even if you can't feel bushy-tailed . . . hope you are all really bright-eyed all day . . . extra should help. Have a great one, gang . . .

Happy LEFTOVERS DAY to the Yanks . . . and Good Morning to EVERYBODY
Guess it will be fairly quiet around 3FC again today since so many will be out doing the major "shop 'til you drop" routine. Nothing exciting for this Canuk . . . maybe I'll start the gift wrapping process.
Need to stay out of the kitchen -- I get an almost overpowering urge to bake, bake, bake at this time of year -- that would be okay, except for the other almost overpowering urge to eat, eat, eat, that always seems to goes along with it.
Anyway . . . Just keep doing the best you can today, gang.

Hi everyone.
Now on to my new lifestyle of choosing the right foods. I know that I gained a lot over the holiday. I can't face the scale. I know that I have to soon. lol
I got into a size 16 just before Thanksgiving, and now they are very tight.
I'm going to do it tho!
