There's a bit of debate as to how to treat the Quest bars. Check out the Quest bar thread for a discussion of this. Personally, if the bar is less than 170 calories and less than 30% fat, I treat it as unrestricted. If it is over those limits, I treat it as restricted. Some people see the calorie count as too high to ever consider it an unrestricted item. I think this might be b/c they tend to eat the lower calorie IP items (e.g., the puddings which are something like 80 calories). However, I tended to consume the higher calorie IP items anyway (the 150ish items), so the Quest bars are a compatible trade. Also, my commute to work is a 2 mile each way walk, so I figure, the extra calories might actually be needed. Anyway, this is a long ramble to just tell you to check out the Quest thread!
That is why different products work better for different folks. We all have different things going on in life. A 4 mile walking commute sure gets your exercise in, doesn't it? If you do it with higher cal OP items instead of adding an additional packet, more power to you!
I add 2 oz of a protein powder mixture to my coffee in the morning (used to be IP vanilla but now use generic). I don't count it b/c I don't add anything else extra due to the daily exercise I added in January. Personalization!
Some folks even go up to 200 cals before they count something restricted.
Whatever works!
The new product I heard from my coach was a shake that would be used in maintenance for breakfast..
There was a new meal replacement shake at the clinic when I weighed in last week. Wonder if that was it. It was definitely in a much larger box than the normal drink mixes.
Are the BBQ ridges going away? My coach said they have been "Sold Out" the last 3 weeks she has ordered.
There was a quality problem with the BBQ ridges and something else...I can't remember what.
Additionally, my coach said some items will rotate in/out seasonally. So the new products will come in but something will probably rotate "out" for a while. Try to find out what they know when you're ordering if it is important to you! For example, if it EVER was the potato puree, I'd stock up. That is a staple for me b/c most other savory items have soy protein or gluten.
IP had a quality control issue with the BBQ Chips & the Sea Salt & Vinegar Ridges (one of my favorites). Both are now available again on-line so should be available to the clinics as soon as the clinics order them.
I won't be buying the new Ideal Complete Drinks for maintenance because I'm not interested in drinking my meals. But for folks who don't like to cook and prefer having drinks, they will probably be great. Although the market seems to be saturated with drink options at much lower prices so don't know how well they will sell.
I hope they're better than the Salt and Vinegar Ridges. I can only have 2 of the restricteds due to soy and that's one of them. For my tastes it really stinks so I'm down to just the White Cheddar Ridges.

Salt & vin were one of my favs til I gave up soy & gluten. My hopes is that the new products will be soy/gluten-free
