Default Intermittent fasting

Do you do intermittent fasting?
If so how many hours?
Do you have any personal evidence that it has been beneficial to you?

Iím currently trying it out due to other gals suggestions here. I am attempting 16:8. So for me that means I eat between 11am - 7pm only. I have found in the last two weeks of doing that if I keep busy between waking and 11 am I donít have issues with hunger - I am also drinking water or coffee during this time. When I just sit and laze about I find I am clock watching and wanting to eat sooner than 11. You can adjust to what works for you hour wise, I keep mine at this time frame as I have kids and want to eat at night with them and my DH.

THus far I think my belly is flatter and not as bloaty. Beyond that I canít speak of other benefits as this is new for me.

I only fast for 12 hours and I just started this week so not sure how beneficial it is yet, but so far it is working out well

I did wake up hungry this morning but have had coffee and water to offset and am doing fine. To finish my thought from yesterday (posted as I ran out the door for kids bus) Iím most noticing that the middle area is not as pronounced/bloated. Mainly from breasts to belly button appears flatter and less to grab if I do spot checks for flab while lying in bed. I have been taking my measurements and I have noticed that they have gone down slightly from the week prior to starting about 1/4Ē. One of the gals here said to stick to your lower calories (if counting) when you do eat as I kept finding conflicting information online at what I was looking at in regards to intake. This was especially noticeable in posts w/weight lifting. I know too that there are those that do 5:2 - that one sounds more extreme for my days from what I read. Thus far I have been trying to stick to the lower calories and the 16 hour fast and do find by the end of the eating period Iím just fine.

Iíd be interested to see how this progresses say in a monthís time. Iíll keep you updated if you keep me updated?

I started a form of IF about a month ago. I'm currently fasting 18 hours a day, and I eat my two meals in a 6 hour window. I'm also trying to limit my carbs at the same time as I've simultaneous developed an interest in ketosis, although I'm taking that much more slowly. Eventually I'd like to go to a one meal per day plan, as from what I've read, that's the best form of IF for getting consistent benefits. But I'm still learning. I know there's the 5/2 plan, the every-other-day plan, etc. And I know some people do some pretty long fasts. I am super interested in the health benefits, especially autophagy. Dr. Jason Fung has become my newest interest as I read his blog and watch his videos on IF.

I do 16:8 but I honestly can't tell that it has made a difference. I have not had issues with hunger though but I don't eat any sugar or flour-though on average I am eating a moderate carb diet with about 40% carbs ... currently losing about 2lbs a week.

I have utilized IF - 16:8 - to try and get me into Ketosis quicker - it seems to be working.

The biggest indicator that I'm in Ketosis is that I find that I am not that hungry - which makes the 16:8 easier to manage.

(0700) Breakfast
(0900) Snack
(11:00 - 11:30) Lunch
(2:00) snack

Sometimes I find that when I get home from work (5:00) that I am in need of a little snack - so I usually just eat a fat bomb. But after that I'm fine until the following morning.

Fasting is the only way I lose weight now that I am 42. I eat one meal a day, dinner. I have black coffee in the morning and during lunch. There is so many evidence that fasting is very good for you, also for me personally its easier to calculate calories in one big satisfying meal rather then 6 small meals that will leave me hungry overall.

IF is the only thing that works for me now. And low carb. I've lost 15 lbs in the past 3 months.
