  • I did 50 minutes of exercise using my new kettlebell too.

    I can report my knees are better, my elbow is still a little sore however, and whatever the 3rd thing was I complained about is apparently gone because I can't remember what it was, LOL.

    Annie, glad to have you back! Good job on the exercise.

    Ashley, relationships are hard, especially when you feel you are the only one who is giving. I'm glad you felt you could share with us. I agree with Guacamole. Stop buying smokes. If he wants to smoke he can use his money on them.
  • Hello all!
    Sounds like you all had a good Thanksgiving. I so overate and did not do a good job staying on plan nor did I get my water in. My scale is up 2.6lbs and I know I deserve it. I have decided to make my weight loss journey a full year, meaning three more months. I would really like to lose 12 more lbs but we will see.
    Did a lot of shopping over the weekend. Spent about 6 hours in line at Walmart but got the TV's I wanted. Spent most all of Saturday shopping with my DD. She is in college and when she is in town spends most of her time with her bf so I LOVE spending time with her. I also discovered that I really can wear a size 12, not just in one brand either. I was married in a size 14 so am thrilled to be in a 13.
    @natamars - Great job keeping on track and exercising! You rock woman.

    @Ashley - I am so sorry to hear about your troubles with your husband. I know how all that resentment builds up and you just have to get it out. When I was working two jobs and my husband was out having a good time, it made for a rough time in our relationship and I was always mad and stressed. With your husbands medical issues would he qualify for SSI??

    Wishing you a wonderful week back!

    L= Chicken, bread stuffing, green bean cas, carrots
    D= Stew, roll
    S= Pumpkin Fluff Parfait w graham crackers
    S= 2 c choc milk- I don't want my stomach growling while I'm trying to sleep
    E= 50min cardio/kbells

    Right- skipped my morning poptart, had dinner later than usual to spread out my meals, kept exercising when I could have quit, didn't shoot computer when it froze on me.

    Regret- didn't finish my 'to do' list

    Wrong- could have been more active, got frusterated quickly, indecisive

    NE, good job on the size 12!
  • Just a quick note for now. Will be back later for a better one.

    3 mile WATP DVD w/ 2# weights this morning.

    Packed good foods for work.

    Had to drop my car off at the mechanic this morning. When I pulled in from work last night, all my antifreeze leaked out on my driveway!!
  • Hello, everyone! I have been juicing and just found the power cord to my elliptical machine. Now I just have to motivate myself to use it! Doing ok food wise so far this week. Hope it continues!
  • Really struggling with food the last few days, esp. night eating, which is my downfall. I do MUCH better when I stop eating in the late afternoon, so I plan to get all my calories in by then. The last few days I've struggled. Exercise has been OK, although I missed the gym last night because DH got stuck in traffic and I can't bring DS to my class. Have been doing 30 minutes of stairs and walking with a friend at work every day. Also signed up for a 5K next Saturday.

    you go, guac!!

    annie, hope your car problem is something easy and cheap to fix! you're doing great w/ diet and exercise!

    pp, you're doing a lot more right than wrong!!

    NE, smaller than on your wedding day? What an inspiration!!!
  • You know those cartoons where the person slips on a banana peel, flys up in the air then lands flat on their back?? Apparently that happens in real life, too, no banana peel needed. Fortunatly, I landed on my butt and there's a lot of padding there so I didn't break anything. However, I was already cold and now I have a icepack on my hip, but did I mention that nothing was broken and that's the important thing!

    I don't believe I'll be working out or cleaning house today, either.

    Natamar, wait for the day I really mess up with eating! Its coming!

    Annie, was it a hole in the radiator?? We had a car that Hubby kept having to replace the radiator. Hope its something easier!

    Guac, start slow on the elliptical so you don't start to dread it! Good job!
  • patchwork - sorry about your fall! Glad you didn't break anything!

    Well, a quick update that I did 10 minutes on the elliptical today. I feel kind of pathetic, because I used to do at least 60 minutes last time I used it - it's been at least 7 years! At least the thing still works! Anyway, hopefully I will slowly build up.....

    Also juiced myself an apple, carrots, spinach, mini orange and red peppers, tomato, and celery. Pretty tasty and also surprisingly filling!
  • Tues Nov 29

    B= 2 c milk vits,
    L= turkey sand, 1/2 can peaches
    D= chili, 2 cornbread
    S= 5 or 6 Rocky Road squares
    E= none

    Right= Taking phone outside with me. If I had hurt myself I could have called for help! Not eating RR Squares as I was making them! Only had some as I was cutting/boxing them for tomorrow.

    Wrong= Falling down and going boom! Eating 5-6 squares instead of 2-3!

    Regret=Not taking asprin sooner. Not eating enough in the morning.

    Hopefully tomorrow will be better and I won't be too sore!

    Guac, good job on the 10min. Don't think about where you have been, think about where you are now!
  • No night eating yesterday. I put in half an hour at the gym(also did about 40 minutes at work on the stairs and walking). Got home and moved my butt upstairs and watched Biggest Loser and read with my son. And the scale was down this morning. Amazing how much better I feel already!

    pp, hope you're feeling less sore today. That must have been scary!

    guac, celebrate those 10 minutes! Can't wait to hear about your progress.
  • I'm really impressed with how well I'm feeling today. I expected to be 'walking funny' based on how bad I hurt yesterday, I"m sure the heating pad and hot soak had a lot to do with it.
  • thanks guys for your input and encouragment

    Annie just cause your 50 does that mean you have to leave us?

    PP - sorry to hear you fell, ouch!

    guac- yeah I so get the not wanting to binge cause how you will feel after and that has helped in the past.

    Nemom - hubby was getting SSD - disability when i married him they cut him off in Jan 08 and we have been appealing ever since, we just had a hearing before a judge in April and got the results a month ago and they denied him. We had a laywer and everything. The lawyer put in an appeal on the desicion and we wont know anything for a minimum of 18 months. I have to give him credit he has tried many jobs and only lasted a day or two.

    I am feeling emotianally better today finally.

    On the one side hubby smokes but I binge overeat how are they different really, I quite smoking 15 years ago and know how hard it can be. He has overcome drinking and he really is a great guy relationship wise, it is just the smoking that is difficult.

    We are looking into buying a duplex with my daughter and her family, this would be affordable for both of us and there are a lot of new ones that are really nice and we would not have to pay condo fees. She lives a 5 min walk away right now so i guess it would be no different.
  • I have been sick for the last couple of days. Had a stomach virus really bad on Tuesday. I am feeling better today but still shaky and afraid to eat too much. The good thing is at least I have not binged but have not gotten my water or exercise in either. I am going to give exercise a try tomorrow morning and see how I feel.

    @guac - Good job on getting your elliptical out. Mine does not plug in, yours must be a fancier model. Celebrate the 10 minutes. When I first started I could only do 7 minutes. It took me several months to work up to 30 min. but I don't think I could hang for 60.

    @Ashley - Gawd, the government is so messed up. Makes no sense to me why they would drop him from SSI after he got married. To an extent, I can see the reduction if the household income went up but not totally dropping him. I will keep my figures crossed that the appeal works. I am glad you are feeling better today. Sometimes just venting helps some.

    Hope you all have a great hump day.
    @Patch - I am so sorry about your fall. Thank god you did not seriously injure yourself! I am glad that you are not too sore today.

    @natamars - I struggle with night binging too. I do save most of my calories for night/evening eating but I still have to work on portion control during dinner and not mindless snacking. One would think after all this time I would have this under control but sadly I don't.
  • Hey 40-somethings...you guys are definately inspirational.
    New here...for those of you who jog/run...how did you start? I ran a bit when I was younger and I've tried to start again a few times but I always feel weird...it feels like everyone is watching me!
  • Hi guys! I was wanting some input on the soap pics I posted. What did everyone think?? I'm having so much fun with it!

    It turned out to be the radiator on my car. That's my Christmas gift for this year I suppose. Always something.

    I'm doing pretty well on food this week. I will weigh in tomorrow/Fri and see if I did any damage over T-giving. Exercised this morning but only had time for two miles. Better than nothing!!

    Found a really good sale at Old Navy today!

    Here is a pic I took with my sons last night. Even with the goofy hat older son is wearing, it turned out pretty good. If it wasn't for the hat, I'd send it out with our Christmas cards. We had a nice evening of family time last night.
