Default Hi Friday-

I lost 30 pounds the year after I turned forty. It can be done! Unfortunately, my mother became very ill with cancer, I lived at the hospital for 4 weeks, hospital food is not good food, I gained about 10 pounds back in a month. After that, it slowly crept back on and now I am about 10 pounds from where I was at my highest weight. I recently rejoined LA Weight Loss and am determined to get below where I was at my lowest. I really do believe it is very difficult to take it off and keep it off after 40. Not impossible though! Good luck to you - I think it is best for all of us 40+ (or close to it) to realize our bodies respond differently now than when we were younger. However, there are lots of success stories here for you to get motivated about!

Yes, and I definitely look better than ever. I've been overweight my entire adult life, tho, so that probably has something to do with it. I cannot say it's been easier or harder after 40, cause it's always been hard. It seems to be working this time, tho. I think that my state of mind has more to do with that than anything.

hi there, I'm 43 and just lost 30 lbs! At work we organized a Biggest Loser 3 month contest and I Won! But....now the thrill is gone and I'm backsliding! We started a second round of the BL for another 3 months and I feel so much pressure. Not to win but to keep this weight off. It feels like people are waiting for me to regain the weight! This could just be my negative, warped mind but that doesn't mean it doesn't have power! So I just finished my lunch (whopper, onion rings and diet coke) and feel defeated. I know I need to get back on track and tell myself this every day. Second round started two weigh in's ago and I've gained 1 pound actually lost another 5 lbs before we started so I've actually gained 6 lbs in 14 days!! not a good sign. I really hope w everyones support (3fc and home) I'll be able to get started again! I really don't want to regain this weight but the food just calls to me....Sorry, I guess I went off in a "all about me" direction but I"m scared....gotta go...be called to sing Happy B day and have cake!
