Annie--I will try to take time for myself...naps preferably since the almost one year old was up from 2-3 and back up at 6:30...I could handle the 6:30 if the hour up in the mdidle of the night hadnt happenned...lol...but he really is a happy baby..makes it easier..I planted sugar snap pea and eggplant and various herb seeds..the snap peas/eggplant along with some spinach and lettuce plants are ready to go in the ground..Sunday is suppossed to be sunny...fingers crossed...I also bought some heather plants and a lilac bush too...and how does that happen on sizes..

Penguin--Michael has suprised us..but he is awfully cute!! Hope your back feels better...so exciting to have your dog back!!

FL--my hubbys says that God makes them teenagers before leaving the nest so when they do we are ready...I would much rather deal with my 3 year old grandson than redoing my son's teenage years...yikes..my daughter didnt go wild until after 18 and she moved out.

second grandboy is up..will be back later...

jules1216 04-09-2011 10:41 AM

back again...breakfast is made...dishes washed...boys have full bellies...

Phoenix--what a great feeling...my dil sent her punching bag and gloves over to our house since they had no place for it...have been toying with the idea of hanging it in the garage...have never worked out with on..not sure how to workout with it...

KM--sometimes the change can end up being a big positive...so we do we get so stressed out...lolI guess it's human nature..hope things go smoothly for you!!

NP--its been a rainy cold April...me and the boys cant wait to get outside and play...the foor walls are getting really boring!!

hope everyon has a great weekend!!

Hello, everyone! Weighed in exactly the same this week at ww as last week. I'm oddly okay with that because of TOM and the fact that I didn't go as light as I had in weeks past. I delved deep into my bonus points! Need to try to stay on track this weekend - last week i kinda went a bit crazy :)

Rainy and chilly today - stormy, actually. I will get on the treadmill here in a while and am aiming to get in six miles somehow today - the storms should move out later today, so I can get in three on the trail... six on a treadmill would be torture :) ha ha.

Decided to start a 50-day challenge to myself. We're supposedly going on a beach vacation then (over memorial day weekend) and this body needs some SERIOUS work before I'll be donning a bathing suit in public. SO ... want to kick it in gear. Hiked in the park with our dog yesterday - good workout.

Jules - Congrats - and get in those naps when you can! If I'M ready to get out of the indoors, I can only imagine your boys! My mom used to have a rainy day bag of stuff that I could ONLY use on a rainy day - and LOVED it. But after this winter, it'd be used up FAST!

Annie - don't sweat the tight 10 shorts - i bought two identical (in theory) pair of jeans - same style, size, color, etc. and one is almost too big to wear, and the other fits well despite being 3" long than the other one!!! They're just not made to the standards of size we think they should be.

FL - Varying weight 0-2 pounds is nothing to worry about ... It's amazing that our bodies, which fuel us with chemical interactions, don't vary even MORE ... I hate to see you worry about such small amounts - our bodies will do that for our entire lives. I think it's rare to weigh in the same every day/week. Even when I was maintaining, I ranged 129-135 and was okay with anything in that range. Now I'd be THRILLED - ha! Hang in there with the financial worries - hopefully you'll find relief soon.

Kitteh - does the new position start on Monday or not yet? Good luck with all your prep!

Hang in there and be patient if I post a lot today - want to steer clear of the kitchen!

Good news: I was able to hear out of my left ear yesterday. I assume that means there is no permanent nerve damage.

Bad news: Back to muffled hearing out of left ear today. I'm hoping it gets back to being better.

Working on cleaning and yard work today. Going to grocery store later. Wish I could make myself get out early enough on a Sat. to get to the farmer's market!!

NP--the 3 year old wants to go out even in winter...we have 32 acres of wooded hilly land complete with the logging trails from the previous owners timbering the property. Hubby keeps it cleared with a 4 wheel drive tractor...the 3 year old like to walk the trails or his fave thing to do is on the tractor..he hitches the cart to the back and we all bundle up and go..the little one falls asleep about every trip. I need to start running again..the trails are perfect for it..nobody to point and laugh.

AD--I have problems with my right ear when my allergies are acting up due to a deviated septum...they did a hearing test to make sure I had no hearing problems..I have begun to lose some of the lower registers but "nothing to be worried about"...the ear-nose-throat specialist I went to gave me a simple and fairly inexpensive routine to do, simply saline solution nose spray two times a day and mucinex...clears out the stuff that is causing the pressure thats causing the ear problem. It would be worth a try and it might help you. It didnt start til I turned 40...turns out its a common occurance in my mom's family, my grandma and two aunts have problems with the pressure causing hearing problems and we get really off balance when it happens...dont know if tha happens to you.

AnnieDrews 04-09-2011 02:05 PM

Thanks, Jules, I did the Mucinex with Nasonex for 3 weeks. I finally got tired of how dry it made me. I may try the saline spray, though, for a while to see if helps clear up the remainder of whatever has set up camp in my head. I actually have some in the drawer.

Your property sounds gorgeous!! My Dad is from WV and I visited there many times when I was a child. Lived in Eastern KY during my jr. high and high school years, too. Mom was from there. I miss it.

jules1216 04-09-2011 02:27 PM

AD-Ear-Nor-Throat guy said just plain saline solution..saline solution nose spray is pretty cheap at the drug store..he said you could even mix your own. Oh..and drink lots of water...

My inlaws were from western NC...my kids have always said they would love to live there...it was always so beautiful no matter what time of year we visited

The sun was out for a few hours, but now it's cloudy again. Rode the bike for 21min. then took a 30min walk with hubby. I'm going to the Farmer's Market for my fruit later, I have a total of $11.00 to spend. I won't be able to get too much, being broke for so long sucks! I'm just thankful I have a roof over my head at this point. I will do everything in my power to save us from losing this house, whatever it takes! I did better with eating a smaller breakfast, I'm trying not eat as much, I'd rather save my fruit for when I really need it, due to money problems. Looks like I won't be over my calorie limit today, yay!
I'm down 6oz. again, probably back up tomorrow for no reason. It's usually normal for me to fluctuate by ounces daily, not a few pounds, that's why it's got me wondering.

Strange thing happened yesterday foodwise, I got a text from Hubby saying he had to fly to TX. Mostly, these are day trips but sometimes they turn into unplanned overnight trips. {he works for an airline}. As soon as I read the text I KNEW he was going to be stuck and I felt the compulsion to eat. I was anxious so I wanted to eat to feel better. I mostly fought the complusion, but as soon as he texted me that he was on the way home, the compulsion disappeared! I was hungry by this time but couldn't find anything that I WANTED to eat. Weird! I feel better when I get these little insights into whats really going on with me and food. I feel like I have another weapon in my arsenal to use the next time it happens. Hubby had a nice nap on the flights there and back, along with the plane's problem being easy to fix.

FL-Are you going to consider working for a while? I'm sure that would help the financial situation. I was lucky to only work on an on-call basis for a while when my children were younger, but had to back full time after a while. It was nice while it lasted.

patchworkpenguin 04-09-2011 04:32 PM

I did a 66min yoga DVD for back pain. I feel much better now. I didn't know it was that long, I like to keep yoga under 30min if I can but I enjoyed this workout.

Annie- Thanks, I've been putting in applications for a long time. It seems the younger people get hired before a 42yr old does. There is a big college near by, they always hire the students.

I think you are right about that. Companies aren't supposed to do that, but I know they do. I was looking for a job a few years ago and felt my age was a huge factor in not getting hired for several jobs. Good luck!

AnnieDrews 04-10-2011 12:12 AM

PP-Glad the yoga helped your back!

NP-Good luck on that 50 day challenge. You are going to be rockin' a bathing suit before you know it. I need to think about setting a hard goal for myself and having something to work toward.....I'll give it some thought.

jules1216 04-10-2011 09:48 AM

well the promised sun is not making an appearance...going to plant my lilac bush and lavender plants...hubby is tilling the garden so my sugar snap peas that are outgrowing their peat pits can be planter along with some eggplant seedlings and an onion set. My herbs from seeds are not doing well, may break down and buy a few plants. Sunflower seeds can go in the ground too.

Ahh..dirt therapy is always good for the soul..
