A Wii Workout Question

  • OK so I was all inspired by your Wii Fit Plus love. But I do a segment and it lasts for a minute and then it's done.

How do you get it to go longer? Like can you say.. I'd like to do Hula Hooping for 5 minutes and then Kung Fu for 5 and then the Obstacle Course (Which is the one that kills me) for 5?

Also, I have the Just Dance wii workout and that is BEYOND fun. A bunch of friends were over and we were all trying to dance to Womanizer by Brittany Spears. It was hysterical.

I also have Dance Dance Revolution, but even the beginning level is tough and I took jazz and ballet for years!
  • I'm still learning, but I think the only "free" ones where you can go as long as you want or set some time is walking, biking, and step. You can also set up some workouts in the locker room.

I just wear my heart rate monitor and bop around. Last night I did 3 parades, 18 min of bike, then one kung fu and that got me to 30 min.

    A.
  • With the Fit Plus you can set up a yoga and/or strength routine that goes as long as you want without a pause. I just upgraded to the plus and I really like my 25 minute routine.
  • I haven't found a way to keep playing more continuously, other than on the ones like free step or free run where you can program it for a longer time.

I still enjoy playing a lot of the Wii Fit games for fun, but I have to say that I did sort of out grow it in terms of it being my fitness activity. Well, maybe not all of them - the obstacle course is still a good workout - that thing is tough when you get to the upper levels! lol!
  • Toomuchmoxie: I'm assuming you realize that you can unlock advanced levels on many of the activities that go longer. Like the expert boxing is 10 minutes long, I also think the island run is about 5 minutes, so if you unlock the advanced levels of a bunch of stuff it could wear you out. Not all of them have advanced levels though.
  • I am not such a fan of the running. I haven't done the expert boxing - I saw the Kung Fu one. Is that on the regular Wii or the Wii fit?
  • There is another boxing program on Wii Fit called Rhthym boxing. You do step patterns at the same time as the punches. That has an expert level you can unlock. I liked that one a lot and ended up getting Golds Gym Cardio which is almost all various boxing routines similar to that.
