I went to the gym for an assessment today, fearing the worst. Well, my messed up hormones are good for one thing (PCOS causes testosterone to be a bit above average): My lean body mass is a whopping 122.6 pounds, probably from carrying around almost 200 pounds for years and from taking my calcium religiously.
My initial goal weight of 138 pounds would have given me a body fat percentage of 11%
So, they consider 166 pounds to be the upper threshold of a healthy weight for me! My new goal of 145, if my lean body mass doesn't increase, would give me a very healthy body fat percentage.
I also tested as "above average" for both core strength and upper body strength. My hydration level is "excellent", too.
So, I'm not starting out from the bottom in my weight training and it will be fun to see how far I can go!
