Today, I pulled on a pair of my old size 8 jeans and they fit perfectly, not the least bit tight, no muffin top. It feels so good! Just 4.5 months ago I dreaded waking up in the morning because I had exactly one pair of size 12 jeans that weren't painful and I was refusing to buy size 14 when I clearly should have been. So I am down three or four pants sizes and actually like getting up in the morning. Only bad part, I have a closet full of size 10's and only a couple size 8's. My body really likes 140 lbs and size 10, so I know I will have to fight to stay here.
Yay, size 8! Congratulations!! And you may have to "fight" your body for a while but it'll eventually yell Mercy and say "Fine, I won't go back to 140!".
I love reading these kind of posts. Makes me feel all gushy inside!

Thanks for the support!
Single digits! The reason I have so few 8s and so many 10s is because 10 is my "normal". I have only worn a size 8 once in my adult life and that was about 9 years ago. In fact, these jeans probably weren't mine at all, but rather given to me by my sister. I know they were because they are Lucky jeans, and I don't buy name brand! LOL
Hey, I know exactly what you mean! My normal is size 10 at 140 pounds. I have a pair of size 8s I am wearing, but I still wear my 10s 'cause that is what I have. They are loose, but I'm afraid to go hog wild and buy a bunch of new clothes. What if I actually make it to a size 6?

GIRL! GO HOG WILD! We have virtually the same stats and I just went out tonight and everything I bought was a size 8 in pants and small in shirts. I'm not going to be afraid anymore and neither should you. In fact, this post inspired me to go out and get my 8's! Do it, do it, do it!!
(I am still wearing 10 jeans but that's because I am not comfortable with the stretch factor that seems to run ramped in stores but that's OK!)

Congrats on the size 8!!
Right. My 10s aren't too-too big. They are comfortable and loose, but most of them are not baggy, a few are. I keep thinking the same thing; I need some new clothes for summer, but I don't want to buy 8s and feel like a stuffed sausage in August if I gain 8 pounds. I know this kind of thinking sets me up for failure, but I just feel like 10 is my normal, 10 is easy to maintain. I have been a 10 for most of my life, a size 8 for a couple years, and never lower. Size 6.....my mind hasn't even gone there LOL I want to lose another 5 to 10 lbs. I just wish I could pick where I could lose it from, suddenly my boobs are deflating, and I am thinking NOOOOO, take it from the tummy, the hips, the thighs! LOL Anyway, my mind needs to adjust and start believing an 8 is my new normal.

Awesome! My shirts are still mediums and I am kinda hoping to keep them that way LOL I tell ya, it is so nice to walk into a store and pick up a medium and KNOW it is going to fit. I was wearing a large and there was still a question on whether or not they would fit. If it didn't fit, the shirt was a definite no because I refused to wear XL.
If you don't want to splurge, you can always just grab a couple pairs of jeans off ebay or at goodwill or something. Even get a pair of size 6 for motivation/comparison
I agree, go nuts! That sort of change in clothing always helps sweeten the pot for staying at my new size, along with getting rid of any clothes more than a size too large or whatever my TOM bloat brings me to. That way, when my barometer clothes get tight I KNOW it is time for a change and to get back down to my comfortable range

^This!^ ~thru the many years of my yo-yoing, I have found that the best place in the world to shop is Goodwill, and cosignment stores. At one point I was 140 lbs and needed new clothes... so I spent an entire afternoon at Goodwill and walked out with $55 worth of clothes - THREE GIANT BAGS! - and a few of them were brand new with tags still on! (gotta love that!!!)
