Here's how it works: Just state your goal, whether it be a loss in pounds, inches, size, or even an intangible feeling! You need not state your weight if you feel uncomfortable, just your goal, even if that goal is to maintain or whatever the case may be. Though the thread is titled "weight loss" please bear in mind that the overall goal is toward a healthier us and so your goal may not revolve around weight loss, it may be maintenance, eating healthier, and/or kicking a soda habit...whatever the case may be.
Note: We try to keep a members list with our goals and if/when those goals are met, we put red print and goal met next to our goals. Please don't feel bad if/when you may not reach a specific number, goal, etc. Always remember that making positive changes along the way (the journey) are wonderful accomplishments in and of themselves.
Monthly weight loss challenge FAQ's
Do we weigh in on a certain day and how frequently? No, we don't have a specific WI day and WI on the day we choose. When and how frequently we weigh in is a personal matter and specific to each of our own indivual needs.
Do we need to post personals? Absolutely not. Sometimes we do and sometimes we don't . We are a large group and it is difficult to post personals sometimes. The time just does not exist sometimes. If you don't have time for personals it's okay.....post anyway.
Is everyone on a specific plan? We all have various plans. Some of us are on WW, South Beach, our own plans, etc. Though we do believe in and follow the guideline of not going below 1,200 cals a day and along these lines also strive to follow the site guidelines.
What day do we count our loss, the last day of the month or the first of the following month? Either way. Most people report their loss the last day of the month and if they have another loss that following morning (on the first) they either add it to the current months total loss or roll it over to the new month. Think of it as a bonus day.

Wow February already time flies and soon spring will be here. I can hardly wait for the warmer weather to come, now I just need to get shorts ready.
My weight is 205.8 today and I am shooting for onederland by the end of February.
Yay, month two for me! Since I'm still trying to procure a reliable, consistent and loving scale, I'm not actually sure if I reached my January goal, but since one of the two ne'er-do-well scales I have said 204.6, the other 203, I'm going with the more friendly one, and saying I made it. I will weigh in again tomorrow to confirm my starting weight for February, but I'm going with:
10 pounds
Start: 203
Goal: 193
Edit: Well, as it seems I have reached a plateau and have been stuck here for about... 3 weeks now, with all changes in my weight being caused by water and sodium. I'm hoping that I can get out of this funk soon (I'm praying before February is over). I'll set my February goal with two possibilities
a. just stop plateauing (this is really messing with my plans)
b. lose 5 lbs
start: 170
goal: 165
I'm in! My goals this month are to reach 131 lbs and to avoid the scale until 2/28... so I can focus on eating right and exercising without obsessing over numbers.

Here's my goals:
Lose at least 10 lbs (totally retaining water like mad!)
Eat like a sane person (can you say junk food binges?!)
DRINK MY WATER!!! (I know, can you even believe I need to yell at myself?!)
Okay, so I've found my way back to the wagon (Thanks Tummy!) and I need you all to make sure I'm seat belted in, chained down--bust out the duct tape if you need to--just make sure I have my butt firmly planted and that I don't fall off!
It's been 2 long months without eating healthy and working out--let's hope I didn't do too much damage to my metabolism and that my muscle forgive me for neglecting them!
Ok, so I'm super excited about Feb as I totally intend to hit goal this month. However, I have been slacking as of late, not watching my calories nearly as carefully as I should be, eating crap food and allowing myself to wallow in misery. So... my goals for Feb:
1. Hit Goalllllllll
2. Eat well... and by well I don't mean stuffing my face.
3. Find someone (anyone) to take a progress pic for me so I can post to the Goal thread!
