good afternoon! hope everyone is doing well. i finally made it back to the gym today. after 2 weeks of being gone, it was nice to get back to water aerobics. i can't say i'm working as hard as i was before the holiday, but i did get in 80 minutes of exercise already today and it's only 12:30 pm! (yep, i posted it on the exercise thread already! ) and the best news is, i weighed this morning and am down 4 pounds. even after everything i had at home during the funeral and all the food i ate at thanksgiving--it's a relief to be closer to where i was before everything happened and really makes the mini goal seem so much more doable!
this morning i tried a new workout dvd. has anyone done crunch cardiosalsa? i worked up a sweat, but i'm glad i only rented it from netflix cuz it's not for me. i always wish i knew how to dance like that, but i was having trouble getting my body to move like hers. i don't think i'm made to wiggle like that! i have some other dance ones coming to try out--anyone have any suggestions for something different to try? i thought these dance ones might be fun for in the morning.
anyway, some personals....
xan-- you'll love it here! i know i do!

katt--ouch! i hope your ankle is better! i always hate it when the kids i nanny run into me with the shopping cart and that's just a little tap, that had to hurt! wtg on your loss!

mechelle--hope you are feeling better too! i always seem to be on the plane with the sick person too. my mom started taking "airborne" or somthing like that when she travels. it's supposed to help prevent getting sick from being on planes or in crowded places. she likes it. also, thanks for being so supportive since i posted on here about my dad. i really appreciated the offers to pm you and your posts to me. take care of yourself and feel better!

well, i'm at work, so i guess i should get to it! hope everyone has a good rest of the day! lori

Xan -- Just wanted to extend a warm welcome! This is a great place for support and advice! I invite you to join our exercise thread! You don't have to wait for the new month, either. We set monthly personal goals in terms for minutes of exercise and report to the group. We also keep track of our group's performance, and are shooting for 200,000 minutes of exercise this year.

Just wanted to extend another exercise invitation to EVERYONE. We can use EVERYONE'S help, as we are falling behind in meeting our goal!!!!

Nelie -- Have I missed it (I've been skimming threads).... how was the wedding????

Well, I had a food filled challenge weekend, but given everything did reasonably. Hopefully I ate to maintain and not to gain. I still don't see a loss on the scales (FFM is mocking me ever since I declared non-obesity! I will show her!), but I know this is a LONG HAUL and a few weeks are just a blip.

Workwise, I am really really close to being done done done with my grading for the term. Grades are due tomorrow am and I cannot WAIT to be done!

Just a quickie before dad gets here

XAN - WELCOME on in ... this is definitely the best site on the web for ongoing support and inspiration Good luck on the new challenging journey you are beginning

AMMI - WTG on the pound .. I think the FFM took it off you and gave it to me lol .. Im up a pound this morning .. not gonna fret .. TOM has been hanging around for over a week now so I reckon TOM is messing with my system a little anyway lol .. remember when the arrow on the scale is going down it really doesnt matter how much by

PATTI - I agree with Ammi .. the FFM is making up for all those weeks she left you hangin ... you know already from this journey that it wont go that fast forever so enjoy every week while you have her in a good mood lol .. and WTG on the big 7-0!! Wow .. that is just fantastic!

LORI - Im not sure if I was here when it happened, but Im sorry to hear about your dad. Be proud of yourself for how well you have been doing tho .. if it was me I would have fallen apart completely and given up .. dont regret how you have been since it happened, there is comfort eating and then there is comfort eating, and I dont regard mourning as a bad one, hopefully in life there will be few opportunities to have to face that sort, and you are doing so well getting back in the saddle, Im sure your dad is watching you and cheering you on Big Huggies hun
Oh .. almost forgot .. your food mishap was a giggle lol .. not as bad as my hunnys .. when he was with his ex (she was American) for 2 years in a row they tried for a real Thanksgiving over here lol .. and both times they took the turkey out of the freezer and left it to defrost in the fridge .. the first time was the night before .. the second time was about 3 days before .. and both times .. IT DIDNT DEFROST!! rofl ... so they had Thanksgiving a few days late hehehe .. fortunately Im not a fan of Turkey .. so it wouldnt be a problem with me hehehe.
Good Luck on your Gazelle!! Boy .. there are a lot of them on here now!

SHARON - Im so glad you are feeling better .... it definitely must have been hard the last little while for you .. sure makes you wish you could give those doctors a kick up to tootsie to get them fixin you better dont it? You are looking great in your pics hun by the way

NANCY - It sounds like your holiday was a dream! You must be so proud to see how far you have come in a year huh? Fantastic on the belt extender progress too! Just think .. next year you will be runnin over the bridge The pics look fantastic .. makes me wanna jump on a plan and head over there lol .. a little too far for my hunny on a plane tho ..

SANDY - Yes my babies are lovely lol .. the only one of the lambs most would be able to get a cuddle from is Sooty (the girl) .. Sweep is a mischief .. he likes butting people .. esp dad when he is working outside rofl ... the lambs were naughty last week .. they broke part of dads fence down cos it was the weakest part as it wasnt completed lol .. so dad will have to fix that again when he gets here lol .. little sods rofl ..
Ooooh .. if you have a recipe for pumpkin pie please let me know lol .. as long as it doesnt include canned pumpkin I can make it (we dont have canned over here) .. when I was in Canada in 2004 I had my first ever Thanksgiving and OMG .. I had Pumpkin Pie .. I always thought it didnt sound like something I would want (we have pumpkin soup lol .. so I only think of pumpkin to be used for savoury dishes not sweet ones) .. I got hooked on Pumpkin Pie .. so much so that when I had my 4 day stop in LA before coming home ... between 2-3am each morning I would go over to Dennys to have a piece rofl. My friend (who surprised me by turning up at my hotel as she had planned her holiday for then too) kept me busy and I got her hooked on PP too! rofl. So would definitely love an easy PP recipe .. yup yup yup.

MISTI - Hope you have a lovely day off playing in the snow .. boy it sounds weird you having snow when we have sunny skies .. mind you yesterday it looked like we had snow cos we had a hail storm and the hail was so big it looked like snow .. I actually liked it lol .. looked nice .. I have a couple of pics of it will post them when I get a chance

MICHELLE - I hope you get better soon .. sounds like your immune system didnt have a chance to fully recover from the last bout before this new strain hit you .. definitely a bad thing ... but keep warm, drink lots of fluids (you dont want to get dehydrated and end up having to go to hospital do you?), lemon and honey is a good thing too .. huggies.

LILION - Well done on slammin on the brakes lol .. I am sure that Thanksgiving gave a lot of you challenges to face .. I didnt have that excuse lol .. so does this make one more aware of Xmas coming up or less?? You do look lovely in your gown .. did you make that??

BRENDA - Yes I have busted both my ankles numerous times .. that is why I thought the damage wasnt too bad lol .. I figure if it aint broke I can still work with it hehehe .. unfortunately the doctor and work disagreed .. grr... great work on your shopping .. I think we have pretty much done our Xmas shopping .. Im not sure what to get my dad yet .. but Ashleighs is pretty much covered .. and so is my hunnys .. that is pretty much all I buy for now lol.

HEATHER - I have been exercising and updating my siggie .. I just havent gotten round to updating the post lol .. will go and add my minutes after this tho .. havent done as many this month as I would have liked ..but the first few days of work sorta put me off while I was getting used to my new routine Glad I kept track of my exercise on fitday tho lol ..

Well .. ankle is feeling a lot better today .. I find as long as I strap it up I can easily do my WATP .. Richard is a little harder on it so I have to adapt a couple of the moves .. but still .. its sorta like doing physio on it really lol ..

This was supposed to be a short post but I just wanted to catch up a little with peeps .. sorry to those I missed .. I only went back a post # ... but if there is any big news positive WOOOO HOOOO ... negative BIG HUGS.

Better get going ..I thought I heard my dad so I better go out n see how he is doing lol ..

Huggies everyone

Love, Light & Laughter ... oh and before I forget again .. I hope everyone that celebrated had a lovely Thanksgiving Nuts .. now Im thinkin about Pumpkin Pie again! arggghh.

Thank you all for the welcomes. There are so many, it will take me awhile to sort everyone out, and I ask for apologies in advance.

One thing I've noticed already is that many of you have AWESOME stats. Congratulations to you!

wezi -- it looks like we're both starting out near the same time and weight. Let's egg each other on!

wyllenn -- thank you for not giving up on me (we'd interacted on my last previous restart) I sympathize on the grading. We have one of those systems where the kids go home for Christmas, come back, there's a week of school, then exams, then, with no break, starting the second semester. I always think that the next few weeks are useless -- they're still winding down from being home for Thanksgiving, and geared up for Christmas.

I'm not ready to exercise yet. I've been very sedentary, and walking about 10 minutes a day is all I can handle now. I don't want to try to do everything at once this time. That's always felled me in the past. Exercise will have to wait until after Christmas.

I'm trying something that has worked for two days, at least. It sounds silly...but it's working. I'm convincing myself that I simply do not drink coke and I do not eat cookies and candy. I won't drink Pepsi or cream soda, for example. If that's all that's available, I'll have juice, failing that, water. I don't eat olives (a delicacy to most, I know!) and so "candy" and "cookies" are my new olives. Don't eat 'em. My theory is that this get me out of the "you can't have this and that" syndrome.

Hi Ladies - I finally got some exercise in, strength training and walking in the SNOW!! We got nearly a foot here..and surronding cities are a bit over a foot now! It sure is pretty but it HAS to leave before my trip!! There are NO buses running here, NO cabs, it stinks! Not to mention all the lack of transportation might put a long hold on a puppy for me. Well, I bet I'm WAY up on my weigh-in tomorrow...I don't know what's wrong with me...I lost my drive. HELP! I haven't made any progress in a loooong time now! Well, I'm off..
Hope everyone is doing well, stay OP!

Hello All,

Finally I am here, all my jobs done, family time over with, peace and quiet reigns, bliss. Now I can catch up with all my friends here

First of all, just to report that Beth was well enough to go to school today although she came home feeling a bit sore and very tired. I wish it wasn’t such an important year for her. She has so many exams coming up, school leaving exams, and she really can’t afford days off if it can be helped.

Colleen - oh yes, couldn’t agree with you more, my hubby is definitely a real sweety I may have had to put up with a real jerk with my first husband, but I definitely landed on my feet this time around

Jen - hey, nice to see you posting. How did your Thanksgiving go?

Patti - sorry, I didn’t think. Of course you would be worried that there may be a more sinister reason behind your sudden good weight loss I still prefer to believe that the exercise, drinking lots of water and cutting out the Lean Cuisines, not to mention the FFM being nice to you now is why you are losing the weight now

Glad you like Daren’s tattoo. It’s not looking as sore now as it was. Apparently it’s now at the very itchy stage where all the scabs are coming off….ick

Sue
- glad you liked the photos. It is so weird actually not minding being in photos now!

Thank you so much for offering to send me medals on to me if the Presidential Challenge would rather send to a US address than to a UK one. I am loving seeing those numbers go up and it would be such a shame to not get the medals when I earn them, so Are you going to wait until you have got all your medals before you send off for yours? Is there a time limit on how long we have to complete the challenge?

How are you doing with the Gazelle? I hope you are still enjoying it.

Brenda - how did your shopping trip go? It sounds like you were really looking forward to it.

Kymberly - that’s great that you had a lovely Thanksgiving. Don’t worry about how much you ate. It was a holiday, and if you can’t have some treats then, well when can you, I am sure you are back on track now especially after stocking up on a load of healthy food.

Sharon - amazingly enough Beth didn’t end up with black eyes. Hopefully that means that her nose isn’t broken. But saying that, I can definitely feel a lump there!

Glad to hear that the eye procedure went well, I bet you are relieved

Heather - do you think the fact that Thanksgiving was this month and that we are so close to Christmas too is why the exercise count is down? The month isn’t up yet, so maybe there will be a mega spurt before December starts!

How are you doing with being back OP now that Thanksgiving is over?

Nancy - thanks for the concern about Beth, she is doing much better now. Thanks too for the compliments on my photo with Daren, and on his tattoo as well. I must admit the latter has grown on me, especially now it isn’t so red

I loved your holiday photos, talk about a gorgeous place. You look so pretty in all your photos. I was going to say that having a relaxing time made you shine, but as you were around 3 boisterous kids who exhausted you, well I guess it’s not down to relaxation Must have just been the gorgeous scenery!

Sandy - I hope Beth’s nose isn’t broken. She has a little lump that is a concern. When she was 3 she broke her collar bone and where it was healing a lump formed over it. I can’t help but think that is what is happening with her nose. BUT if it is, then at least her nose isn’t out of shape and she should heal ok. WOW, I don’t know if I should say you are brave or daft not getting your nose set when you broke it so badly. I can’t help but think perhaps your ex hit you and that’s why you didn’t go to the hospital. That happened with my mum. My dad beat her and broke her nose. She didn’t go to the hospital and she told all her friends that she had walked into a door. Nobody believed her, but they didn’t say anything to her. It was a very sad time

You are right that I am lucky to have a doctor that will listen to me when I find things on the Net. I always word things very carefully so that he won’t think I am a know it all. It seems to work every time Doctors aren’t gods and they don’t know it all, so I think that some, like mine, do appreciate any and all suggestions on certain ailments. I have a stoma care nurse and when I knew more about my ostomy and looking after it than she did, thanks to the Internet and message board friends, she was really miffed and said the Internet should be banned. Silly silly woman

Will email you soon about your Thanksgiving/Pumpkin pie offer

Lori - I have an oven like yours, things need turning in it because the front and back seem to cook at different rates. Seems like you averted a non cooked Turkey disaster when you realised you had pressed the wrong button. So glad it all cooked well in the end and that albeit a little late it was yummy

It’s more than understandable that although you were ready to restart your diet and exercise regime you weren’t able to do it. You are going through a lot, so any time that you feel up to being OP and exercising, just do it, and when you can’t, don’t worry about it Seems like you are off to a good start this week though…well done on going to the gym and what fantastic news that you have lost 4 lbs How cool is that especially after Thanksgiving and all

I agree that Beth looks like me, though my nose isn’t quite as swollen as hers When she was born she was the spitting image of her dad, but thankfully as she’s grown older she’s started to look more like me, phew

That’s cute that you have a tattoo of a sun on your foot. Maybe when you are due to have another one you could have a moon or stars on the other foot OR if it’s after you have had a beautiful baby you could have the baby’s initials or something baby-ish tattooed?

Finally that’s great that you have ordered a Gazelle Rider, has it been delivered yet? Are you now officially a Gazelle Girl

Katt - wow, so close to your Christmas eve goal and yet nowhere near the date, you are doing pretty darn brilliantly You should be so proud of yourself. I don’t think there is much chance of me making my goal, but I shall keep on trying!

You have done so wonderfully since you started your diet, on my birthday!! Your measurements have really come down, and that weight loss is amazing too. You must have a smile like the Cheshire cat As for that lb of mine that the FFM might have dropped off at your door, I am sure she’ll be picking it back up and some others and will be dropping them on some skinny gal somewhere else

How is your ankle now? What a little monster that kid was ramming into you and then giggling about it  How long do you think you will have to stay off work? Do you get paid or is it unpaid leave?

Thanks for the anniversary wishes, yes indeedy it was a memorable one. It was still lovely in the evening though, and every time I look at my charm bracelet it makes me smile

Michelle - my Ulcerative Colitis which caused me to have an Ileostomy, and is now causing the terrible ulcers in my mouth, is caused because my immune system works TOO hard. It finds problems where there aren’t any, and when it tries to battle the non existent problem the ulcers form. So……..seeing as you don’t think your immune system is working well at all, would you like some of mine Seriously, I am sorry that you are feeling so unwell. Are you going to the doctors soon? I hope you will feel better soon Glad the biopsy wounds are healing ok and aren’t infected or anything. I bet you can’t wait to not have to bother with the dressings any more!

Xan - sorry this is belated, but As Patti mentioned, I love the WW diet, it’s the only one that works for me. I hope it will work for you too and that you will soon be shifting those lbs

Lilion - the good thing about that 5 lb gain you had is that you fully expected it, just like when I gained 6 lbs the other week. I have lost that 6 lbs, and I am sure you will lose that 5 lbs quickly. Onwards and downwards for us both

Missy - I think it’s so hard to keep our ‘drive’ especially around the holidays, AND when you might have had a few weeks where you don’t lose when you expected you would. Don’t be hard on yourself, guilt just doesn’t help diets at all. Take this a day at a time. Get up, drink water, plan a healthy breakfast, think of the exercise you can fit in. If it all goes to plan you will have a day OP. If it doesn’t, well tomorrow is another day. Just don’t give up

Ok time for me to go have a shower now, but I’ll try to pop back before I go to sleep. Take care all and bye for now,

Hugs,

Ammi

Back to work today for me, my boss was in her usual crabby monday mood. But I got through it okay. Had a great Thanksgiving with my family, and ate a little more than I should have but I skipped lunch cause' I knew I would. I'm back on track since Saturday.

Sharon-Good going on your 4lbs. loss!! Hope your lazer sugery goes well. My nephew just had his done a couple weeks ago and he says his sight is improving more everyday. He's worn glasses since he was a kid.

Nancy- The picture from your trip are beautiful, not much blue sky in north country this time of the year so it must have been nice to spend some time in the sun.And the stories of NSV are inspiring.

Lori- Hang in there you are no doubt still feeling a little blue, I wish you luck in your efforts to focus on your goals. You can do it for YOU, in your fathers honor.

Katt-Hey girl where ya been? I'm glad the job is working well for you. Sorry about the ankle though, ouch! Congrats on all the weight you've lost!!

Patti- Keep going girl, don't ask were it comes from!70lbs.

Ammi- Another pound lost ? thats great!!

Xan- Welcome to the 300+ threads. I'm doing Weight Watchers too. The plan works well for me but I did'nt care for the meetings. So I'm kind of just sticking to what works for me. Good luck to you and I hope this try is the last for you. I look farward to reading your stories of success!!

Lilion- I'm right there with ya girl!! On Thanksgiving I was so stuffed...and was'nt the pecan pie wonderful? Well back on track ,right?

Almost bed time so I'll finish this one off. Bye for now.
Colleen.

Hey everone. I have been so busy I have'nt had time to come on. I guess I missed a lot threads. Oh, well I will be caught up sometime. I hope that everyone is doing good and is OP. Between parent teachers interviews and getting my son ready for 2 christmas musicals and now they tell me he needs a costume which I will have to make I have no time to do anything. I haven't been doing too good on the water department. I can't seem to remember to drink it and not good in the exercise department either. I hope I do better this week

Hey all!

Had a bit of a stumble on my back on track. Ate WAY too much tonight. But now I now that all the pie is out of the house. So tomorrow we try, try again!

Xan! This is a wonderful place full of support!

Katt: Yes I made the dress! Aren't you supposed to be staying OFF the ankle? I very much admire your determination - I'd milk that for all the no-exercise I could!

Later Ladies!

Katt -- Thanks for your minutes!!!

Xan -- I remember you!

We have 10 week terms, and sometimes I hate it, but once I get my grades in tomorrow, we are off until the New Year -- that's the great thing about the schedule. Actually, I'm on a sabbatical for our winter term, so won't be teaching until late March! Anyway, I sympathize with your schedule.

As for exercise, if all you can do is 10 minutes every now and then, that's FINE! Why not commit to something like 10 minutes 2 or so times a week. Just say 80 or 100 minutes for a month??? You can join the exercise thread with just that! It really helps for accountability and helps you see progress!

Of course, I don't want to push if you're not ready. We'll be here when you are.

I've played that mind game of "I don't eat such and such" I actually find it works quite well. There I am in the checkout and there's the candy. And I just say "I don't eat candy bars. I have a nicer treat waiting for me instead." In some ways it works better to think that stuff is for "other people" Less complicated that way!

Ammi -- Glad to hear Beth is back in school!

I DO think the holiday cut back on our exercise -- and I think Christmas/December holidays will too! I'm hoping to inspire a spurt!!!!

As for me, I had a busy weekend. Yesterday was hubby's birthday and we went out for Korean bbq. The meat is really caloric and fatty, so while it was delicious, it was caloric. I wasn't a great eater all weekend, but other than thursday I wrote everything down.

Today I am back on plan and feeling good, but I have MORE social events coming up at the end of the week. I will just have to do the best I can, get in a lot of walking, and not let myself get too off track...

Hi everyone. Just checking in.

Xan, welcome! Glad you are here!

Ammi, I do plan to go ahead and order my bronze medal and add the others to it as I earn them. It's a bit more shipping that way but I want to see what it looks like. Oh and I haven't been on the Gazelle much because every chance I get I am outside walking in the SNOW while it lasts LOL.

Just passing through -- I did go to work today and fortunately went ahead and went early as I am supposed to be on overtime. But I left early as I could see on the webcam the snow was coming in again hard near where I live. So glad I did. By the time I got halfway home it was snow covered hail and ice so hard I could hardly see or stop without sliding. I was just telling myself "don't panic" and praying! Got back up onto the main highway even though I had heard it was backed up as I could see I could not make the hill on the back roads. But once I was back up on the freeways, I made it fine.

It has been snowing hard most of the afternoon and evening and mixing with freezing ice and slush. So I am pretty sure I will not be going in tomorrow, as the temps are freezing and getting colder. LOL this is so unusual for us that there is kind of a party atmosphere... except it is after 8 and there are STILL people backed up all over the freeways trying to get home. I was SO glad I left at 2:30!!

Blessings to everyone

Hi again ... determined not to get too far behind again lol ..

SHARON - okee .. I know I missed something havent I? What lazer surgery?? Are you one of the lucky ones able to have your eyes corrected by surgery?? I really wished I was able to have that done .. but my eyes arent viable for that grrr .. still .. Im happy to still be seeing at 34 considering I was supposed to be blind by the time I was 25 lol .. Good luck tho hun .. Im sure you will hate the recovery time but will LOVE the new results

AMMI - Not make your Xmas goal?? OMG .. hunny look how far youve come!! You are such an inspiration to me .. esp over the last month or so when you have been battling one illness after another .. talk about trial by fire lol .. I know for me I feel so naughty when I dont do my exercise when I see how much you do rofl ..
Im sure the FFM will be nice to me before Xmas .. would be great if TOM would give me a nice pressie by leaving me for a couple of months so I can get some energy back .. darn thing is hanging around so long I am getting tired ... not so much in my mind .. but physically .. lol ..
Ankle is a lot better .. Im off until tomorrow night (night work .. yuck .. 5-10 tho so not too bad), but I would have been ok to go back yesterday lol. I dont know if I get paid or not lol .. suppose I will find out when I get my pay check tomorrow (omg my first real paycheck in over 4 years!! rofl .. never got one when I worked for myself rofl).
Your hubby sounds like a real romantic .. lucky you .. you must have nice Valentines rofl .. Im still waiting for a Valentine from my hunny .. but maybe next year .. 5 years lol .. yup ... after all .. this is our 5th Xmas together and Im finally getting a pressie from him roflmao.

COLLEEN - Hiiii hun .. hows it goin with you?? I have been busy adapting to working again ... Im never sure what my hours are each week until Saturdays, and even then I sometimes will get a call to come in for some extra time lol ..
Sounds like you had a yummy Thanksgiving .. naughty girl skipping a meal in preparation tho hunny lol .. still .. its one day Good on you getting back on track again so quickly too

CRYSTAL - Hiya .. wow .. sounds like you are definitely having a busy time of it at the moment .. Im sure it will be a common thing over the next few weeks for a lot of us, Xmas time always is .. I hope you (and others) dont feel like you HAVE to make time to get in here to catch up, Im sure that will just add more stress to an already stressful time of year .. remember this place is to support and encourage not to keep you worrying lol. I hope tho (having said all that lol) that we will get to see some piccys of your little'un in the Xmas shows Keep strong and well hun, as for the water .. just keep a bottle near you all the time .. treat it like an attachment ... like one of those important things that you never leave home without (house keys, phone, purse etc) .. it will become automatic after a while trust me lol .. I was the same .. I would forget to have any and think oh .. I have had about 4 cups I think .. each night if I fill up 4 bottles and pop them in the fridge I have a reference to let me know how much water I am drinking. Dont beat yourself up over it tho hun ... its a learning curve for most of us

LILLION - Wow .. you are sooo talented!! You could work for one of those costume companies or something! I cant sew clothing to save myself .. well .. I could but I wouldnt guarantee it not coming apart at the seams rofl.
Yes I know Im supposed to stay off the ankle .. that is what the crutches are for rofl .. but from the others times I have broken my ankle (yes more than once rofl) I have learnt to adjust exercises and how far I can push it in one stretch .. so while I may not be able to do 60 minutes in a single stretch .. I can do 20 minutes 3-4 times a day I did think of using it as a reason not to exercise .. but that is pretty much what I did to get me to this size rofl .. so Im not allowed to do that anymore hehehe

I forgot to mention a giggle that happened at work last week too!

Ashleigh (my daughter) came in for a job interview on Friday and we were supposed to meet for afternoon tea .. but my ankle debacle happened .. anyway so she said to the supervisor "can you tell Sarah (I have to get called Sarah at work cos someone else is called Kat .. soooo confusing for me!) that I am going home now" .. Sherilee (the Supervisor) asked her who she was and when Ash told her she was my daughter Sherilee was so shocked rofl.. When Sherilee came upstairs to the staffroom and told me (I had my ankle up at the time) she said "I didnt think you were old enough to have a daughter that old" rofl .. I said how old did you think I was?? Early 20s roflmao

They were shocked that I was in my 30s and wanted to know my secret roflmao .. talk about a nice boost for one in pain hehehe .. I really dont think about how old I look, I thought I looked my age .. what do I know! My best friend said that I look the same as I did at my 21st, no extra lines or wrinkles so that is probably why .. Ohhh also I have had my hair cut short! I will have to see if I can get Scoot to take a pic of me.. that is probably where a pound went too rofl, I just had to have it cut cos it was getting too darn hot to keep it long .. will probably regret it when the temps drop rofl .. but hopefully by then I will have grown it back a little .. its not that short .. about the same as Misti's?? Maybe a little shorter hehe.

Okee .. time to go get dinner for everyone ... its baked herbed chicken breast, steamed zucchini, broccoli and baby beans .. oh and carrots and a little home made potato salad

Huggies all!

Hello everyone, this is a reral quick one as I should be 'resting' my eyes & avoiding the pc!
Katt, you poor thing, that brat's mum should have spanked her, you really OUGHT to have said something, especially with the probs you've had with your ankles. I hope it gets better soon, DON'T DO TOO MUCH!!! you want it to heal don't you? lol. Yes I had wavefront laser, I can actually SEE now without glasses but have to weat sunglasses outside - to protect my eyes from wind & airborne particles & sun. If you don't mind me asking what happened to your eyes? Ignore this if it's too personal.xxxxxx
Ammi, a loss is a loss, I bet you will see a better loss next week. So glad Beth is doing well, it must have been such a worry.xxxxx
Wezi, you are being too hard on yourself. I know you want to lose weight & get healthy but you need to look after your mental health/emotions too. Take it steady, pm me if you need a real moan/cry.xxxx
Nancy, your holiday snaps are brilliant & you look gorgeous, I LOVE the black top you had on in one pic. You looked relaxed even if you were unofficial childminders, lol! I hope you are getting over your health & personal probs.xxxx
Lilion, love your dress the colour really suits you, wish we got the chance to wear 'romantic/historic' dresses more, I had a Ml Flanders style wedding dress, even though I'm normally a 'jeans girl' I felt like a queen.xxxx
I have to go & 'do' my eye drops, take care everyone. VALERIE & ANNIE WHERE ARE YOU?????? & VIOLET!!!!!xxxxxxxxxxxx
xxx'see' you soon, lol
xxsharon

SHARON - when I was born I somehow had tetanus which turned into septicemia (sp?) ,,, the doctors gave me 24 hours (back then it wasnt common for babies to survive septicemia apparently) to live .. obviously even back then I didnt like following instructions and went against all their expectations lol .. unfortunately there were a few side effects from this .. one of which was damage to my eyesight. When I was 13 as my eyes had degenerated so badly the doctors said that I would (in all likelihood) be blind by the time I was 25. I was taught the basics in braille, how to use a cane, and a few other things like that lol ..
I remember going through a bad time when I was told .. I sort of lashed out at everyone really .. almost had a break down ... but then my grandad and I talked a lot and I learnt to appreciate what I have now ... I am lucky really I have seen my daughter become a young woman, I have seen my hunny smiling at me and the look on his face when he tells me he loves me ... I have seen some beautiful sights in the world .. sunsets and sunrises to die for ... the list is endless .... I will admit there are times when I envy others the chance to have an operation to fix my eyes .. but then I kick myself and have another look around and enjoy what I see while I am still able to see it (again not listening to the doctors in their estimations of my survival / eyesight lol .. talk about a lifelong attitude rofl).

I hope that makes sense?? rofl ... I tend to ramble when I talk about my eyes etc .. but I think I stuck to the eye thing for a change in one post rather than scattering off into a hundred other things rofl.

Definitely go and rest your eyes
