Hello Everyone

I read a few posts today and would like to be a part of your group. I am a little of 300 have hypertention and newly diagnosed diabetic.

Getting this weight is really becoming a matter of life or death. Fisrt month I was diagnosed as diabetic I was so scared i lost 11 pounds. Then fell right off the wagon, second month put 2 pounds back on.

When I do try and put a diet into effect I loosly follow WW. When I lost the 11 pounds I was more or less counting carbs. I basically ate 3 pretty healthy meals a day and had 1 snack of fruit at work and at night 1 snack that had 15or so grams of carbs. This was all done to try and keep the carbs at bay due to the diabetes. I would walk on the treadmill for 30 min with an incline of about 8 at least 5x a week. Maybe that's what I need to get back to again.

Well I have gone on long enough. Any suggetions anyone may have would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Circles! SO glad you are here! You have come to a great place for support and encouragement!

Sounds as if you have a plan that works well for you and is healthy! That's great. I agree that starting up on the exercise again is a good plan. In fact you might want to join us in the exercise thread here where we set a monthly goal for a certain number of minutes and then try to make it. It's not important how small or big the goal is... something YOU feel you can realistically make.

Also, please join us in the numbered threads... that is where most of the chat takes place.

I look forward to getting to know you!

Hi Circles, it's nice to see you back.

My first suggestion would be to come back often. The spirit and encouragement here is something that many have found very helpful. I see you first posted with us in January of 2005, joining the 2x2 challenge and then didn't post again until March. I think you'll find that being consistant will really help.

My second suggestion is to not think of this as "dieting". Most of us consider it a lifestyle change, something we'll have to think about for the rest of our lives.

I'm diabetic myself and making little changes at a time helps to encourage new, better "habits". Welcome back!
