AMMI I am crossing fingers, legs, arms (hard to type tho), toes and eyes that those meds work for you hun .. have plenty of rest to help them work to fight off whatever is causing the harm.
Okee ... I am reviewing my day and overall I am very happy today (I am hoping my constant positive posts will help those that need a boost or something ... if Im annoying everyone .. just tell me to "oh puppy hush!" lol . honest I wont be offended).
Every day I am now waking up with the mantra to find 5 positive things in my day that have nothing to do with staying OP or what the scales say
1 - I got on my jeans without having to lie down .. and could still breathe afterwards!
2 - I brisk walked to the bus stop, and from the bus stop to the dentist .. from the dentist to the doctors (to meet up with my sis) .. from there to my nephews school to drop him off .. back to the bank .. then the PO .. then the supermarket .. helped do the shopping with my sis ... then went to the bakery ... and I wasnt huffin and puffin and my back wasnt screaming in pain ... and then I did a really brisk walk from the bus stop home lol
3 - It rained today .. A LOT .. but it stopped every time I had to walk out from under any shelter rofl.
4 - I got news today that my nephews bone marrow transplant was finally able to be done last week (he was booked in before that but got an infection so it had to be delayed) and its so far so good
5 - My daughter and I laughed together a lot today (my fave one )
So I hope that you can wake up to a positive day ...
My wish for everyone on here .....
Light for those in darkness ...
Warmth for those that are cold ...
Water for those that are thirsty ...
Love for those that need to be held ...
Passion for those that have lost their dreams ...
Vision for those that have lost their way ...
Peace for those that are troubled ...
Comfort for those that are in pain ...
and Happiness for those that have had/seen sadness too often.
KATT, It's a rainy day here (Simon-puppy won't even go out to tinkle) but your post is a bright ray of sunshine! Sleep well and wake up to sunshine yourself!
WYLLENN, Yup, 'Git 'er Done' is a common trucker phrase, as well. I love the image of you and DH shouting it to eachother to keep eachother up going on the exercise! Sometimes when I'm tired & dragging thru a workout and not giving it my all, I think if someone would just say "C'mon Val, GO girl!" I could triple my efforts! I have to settle for a good song to pump me up to higher stress level sometimes, but that works.
AMMI, OMGosh! I hope it doesn't come to the hospital! You have to be so miserable, I can't imagine! I SOOOO hope you're feeling better very, very soon!
MISTI, I boxed 'er up! She snuck in to visit me, which I really appreciate, but then I GRABBED her! I've got the postage on the box and I'm sending you the FFM - air mail! * You aren't really the nutrition police exactly, more like the nutrition classroom monitor After all, you were the one to uncover the 'Natural Strawberry' LIE that 'they' were trying to feed us! Let me know if you find that PB stuff and what you think of it.
Well, never being one who really loved traditional breakfast foods (except for french toast) my day is off to a wonderful start with some sushi for breakfast. (I can hear you all say "Eeeeeeeewwwww" from here.) I don't love all of... for instance the raw fish part still turns me off, but lots of it is just veggies or made with cooked shrimp or crab. Please, if you know anything about the Eel rolls, DON'T tell me. I like 'em just fine without knowing. Anyway, I had some yesterday and finished it off this morning, in celebration of the scale being down 3 pounds for my mandatory 3 days - YIPPEE! Only 2 more to go until I hit the 260's!
HUGS to you all, and DOGPAL, schmooze those Halloweeny-hounds of yours for me!
Good Morning Chicks!
I was so tired yesterday that I feel asleep at 9pm last night & slept all night (except when DD woke me up once around 1:30). It felt good to get in 9+ hours though. I needed it.
I did weights yesterday but didn't get in a walk because of the rain. I don't mind getting wet but can't bring DD out in that. I had planned on going out after she went to bed but I crashed myself. Oh, well, today's another day.
I am excited because I finally get to go grocery shopping today and stock up on healthy stuff. For one reason or another I haven't been able to go & have had to make do with what I had on hand. I was starting to scratch the bottom of the barrel.
Ok... On to personals....
Katt: Great work on your NSVs and on seeing all of those positive things in your day. That is a great philosophy & habit to find the positive in everyday.
I agree with you on the "bribes". I know I work better/harder when I am working towards something & will great a reward. I know my health should be enough of a reward but I want something more tangible, lol. I was a child that was raised by being bribed, lol. Unfortunately I was bribed alot of times with food. Another "tradition" to break with my daughter.
Ammi: Man, you are having a rough time. So sorry you aren't better yet. Take it easy & hopefully its nothing serious.
Congrats on the 3 lbs though. Atleast you aren't sick & gaining.
Mazarin: Glad you came back. We are successful only if we keep trying.
Newsnerd: Motivation is a hard thing. I agree with everyone else thats it more about determination. For some reason that 40/45 lb mark is a tricky place. I too had lost 46 lbs earlier this year then all of a sudden my determination seem to evaporate and I backslid. I gained back 33 of it. Please keep going, whether you feel like it or not. Don't fall into the same mistake. If you keep pushing I'm sure your motivation/determination will come back, its just on the other side of the hill. Then when/if I have that problem again you can tell me how to get through it.
Valerie: "Rent-A-Hubby", sounds like a good business idea, lol. Yeah, I tell him all the time I'm gonna rent him out for a little extra cash. He takes it as a compliment that he is good enough to rent out. I usually mean it cause I need to get rid of him for a few hours, lol.
Wyllenn: I have been wanting to join the exercise thread but was waiting until the beginning of November. Do I need to wait til the new month or can I just jump in now?
Jeepers! It's raining in Missouri. It's raining in Ohio. It's raining in Georgia. It's even raining in New Zealand, for Pete's sake! It's just rainin' all over the world!
ZELMA, MICHELLE, SHARON - How about in your little corners of the planet??
I've been gone for a few days...concert, work, Andrew's house, etc...so I went back, and read all the posts I missed, but it would just be too much to take care of, so here's SOME personals...
Amy - I am indeed still working at the newspaper. I'm working 2 different jobs there. 20 hours a week, I'm customer service, and 10-15 hours a week, I work in retention, which is just a glorified bill collector. Some changes are happening, and I'm hoping to soon just work in retention, which would be nice, because then I would make up my OWN hours. I am so EXCITED about the thought of moving out, even though it won't be for over NINE months from now...heh. Amy....I'm so sorry to hear about Wilhelm. Losing a pet is never easy, but you can't beat yourself up about it....it wasn't YOUR fault.
Ammi - Thanks for the compliment. I feel so DOWN lately, and I KNOW it's because I don't have TIME for anything anymore (such as exercising, posting on the board, etc.) Since I stopped posting, you have lost SO much weight!!! I'm so PROUD of you!!!! You're doing so fantastically well! You are such an inspiration!
Brenda - When Andrew got the procedure done, they numbed him of course, but the stuff wore off by the time they got to the 2nd one, and he felt the entire 2nd half of the procedure....but the complication was fluid back-up, which they said was fairly common...and he finally had to go in to get it taken care of, after being off work for about a month and a half! Turns out, it was a cyst-type thing (not dangerous or anything), and they had to take care of it. He was out of work (with pay) for 2 MONTHS. Oi. Hope Steve's went well.
Went to Chicago this past weekend to a concert, and it was FANTASTIC! I can't WAIT to go again!!! Maybe I'll post a pic of me on the way...in all my Halloweeniness! Sorry I don't have more time for more personals, but you gals are so chatty, and I have to get ready for work.
Ammi: I am sooo sorry that you are having trouble right now. Please watch after yourself.
Nitekatt: I love all the positive things you are thinking about lately and sharing. Please feel free to share them. It's lovely to see some positivity. It sure helps me to think of things that are going well for me. Thank you for sharing them.
Val: Goog job on another 3 pounds gone! So proud of you for hanging in there and taking the higher road with all your stress right now! Keep on going girl. You will be below your 260's and into the 250's before you know it!
Kayley: Sounds like you are a busy, busy bee. Glad to see you posting again. I looked at your photos you posted and you look so good. Keep coming back when you can and have fun at your Concert.
Amy: If you are lurking Just wanted to tell you that you are so very missed and I hope you are doing well. Come back as soon as you can!
Ammi~Congrats on losing the 3 lbs!
Sorry you are sick again. I hope they can find out for sure whats going on and get you better!
Nightkatt~Congrats on your two NSVs! I can't wait to fit back into my fav. jeans. That will be a big NSV for me!
Mazarin~Welcome back!
Newsherd~I have had the same sort of funk due to medical problems. I have had a hard time working out. And I am having to ease back into exercise. I am sort of in the same boat. I hope you can get back on the wagon. Right now I am just cutting out junk/soda and watching what I eat. And trying to at least do 15 minutes of exercise. Hope things get better for you!
Andie~You must have really needed the sleep. I get off my sleeping schedule so much that I have nights where I pass out early. Good for you lifting weights. I try to do my 5 lbs weights once a day. Have fun grocery shopping!
Valerie~No more rain here..just snow! Its been really really cold! highs have been in the teens! Try to stay dry in all that rain!
And to anyone I missed hope you are all having a good week!
I am doing well. Just TOM started Sunday. So I have been feeling so BLAH. The good thing I noticed is I weighed today. And it said 331. Now technically I am up 3 pounds...but the good thing is..I ALWAYS weigh 5 to 10 pounds more on my period. So I am thinking I proably dropped a couple of pounds before TOM came. I do have a very hard time on TOM. I crave salt like no tommrow. But I am just making sure I am drinking lots of water and staying away from so much salt.
Well not much else going on up here. The sun isn't even coming up here until around 10 AM! Its so strange!
Annie - Yep, just been keeping busy! Might become even MORE busy if I end up transferring to another college, which just might happen. I have a meeting on Thursday to figure out which of my credits will transfer!
Ammi - I hope you are feeling better today!!!
Just a quick post from work, as we are slow for the moment *knock on wood!* I may be back if we don't get busy a little bit later. I need to take a lunch break SOON! No classes tonight, which is awesome.
Hi Ladies - Sorry couldn't read too much...I'm at Starbucks paying $8 an hour for internet access since my MIL didn't pay the bill so we have no access at home for about a week or so...gonna miss me? So here's my 5 month verdict...I've lost 37 months over my first 5 months!! So if you're good at math you're figured out that I LOST 3.5 POUNDS THIS WEEK!!! FINALLY!!!!! I upped my calories and lost! Thanks to Courtnie (sotypical) for the suggestion! I was even lower a couple days ago but it's my TOM so I guess that's the 1 pounds difference or so...bloating, ugh! I am hoping to be back online on Friday afternoon...if not then I will pay another $8 to update around then. Hope everyone does well while I am "away" - stay OP chickies!!
Hey guys
I only have a few minutes since I am on my way to the pool for an hour of aquafit and another hour of aquarunning. It is cold herei'm sure it will snow before long. augh!
Weekend went wonderful but I caught bit of a bug. Last night I felt awful but we still went for a 90 minute walk. Today I was fine for a bit then once the stress started then i was feeling icky again. My luck I have an ulcer!!!
I spent the last 75 minutes catching up but am out of time now! I'll try to mosey back later on for a few more personals
to noname
Michelle~ too darn funny about you groovin to the music and your beloved seeing you!! Ya cracked me up!
Sandy~ way to go on the great weight loss!!
Valerie~ Butter of my buns hilarious girlie!!! Be strong!!!
wezi~ to you too!!
Ammi~ sorry you are feeling crappy again!! I'm under the weather a bit too. Maybe its a fat bug!
Melissa~ Awesome that you have finally gotten over the plateau!!!
Congrats, Missy!!!! I'm coming up on my year (December 15th), so I need to get this thing started again! I've been on a plateau for about 3 MONTHS! GAH!!!!
Brenda - Have fun at the pool! We had to close ours down right after Labor Day, cuz it was FREEZING out! We're supposed to get snow Thursday...we had our first snow last Thursday...I LOATHE it!!
Well, just popping on before I head to my other desk, as I'm putting in a couple extra hours in my other position. I'll try and stop in tonight, and give an intro to everyone that I don't know!
I'm not even trying to catch up- I've been out for 6 days- and i've gained 6 pounds!! I've been so stressed out with school and work I just said what the heck and ate whatever I wanted and didn't even workout as much- but i'm back-if i could just stop with my up and down swings, I just want to make this a life change and I can't seem to stay constant. I'm actually in class now, so I can't say much now, but I do plan to check in tomorrow morning and to try and get better at this!
Well, yet another reason for my funk explained - I have come down with a nasty little cold! Last night I was feeling really horrible so I skipped the gym and went to bed really early. Unfortunately, I had to go into work this morning for something that just couldn't wait, but after I finished it I headed back home and have been sleeping most of the day. Hopefully with some more rest and a good dose of cold medicine I will be done with this quickly.
Just a couple of quick messages before I get ready for work.
Ammi - I am SO sorry that your body is not behaving itself. Just when you thought your problems were solved, it goes and messes up again. If I was closer I would come over there and give it a good swift kick! Well, maybe that wouldn't be the best solution. Perhaps a huge hug would get better results. I truly hope that this sorts itself out soon for you. I know how much you want to get back to exercising, but you also need to look after yourself.
Valerie - It certainly isn't raining over here. We are expecting 3 beautiful days with temps in the 70s to low 80s. Then it is going to dampen over the weekend (that would be right!) but still be quite warm. I think we get some more sunshine next week. I am certainly loving the sunshine and warmth!
Kim - Sorry to hear that things have been so stressful and have caused a little backslide with your weight loss. The thing you have to keep in mind is that you definitely haven't given up. People who give up don't come back on here. They either leave here altogether or give things a rest, then start again. You haven't even had much of a break from here, so it is clear that your determination is still there. We are here to support you in any way we can and hopefully you can draw on some of the strength that is floating around here. I wish I had some brilliant suggestion on how to ease the stress in your life, but I just come up blank. I hope you find either some relief from the stress, or some way (other than eating) that will take your mind off the stress for a while and uplift you. You certainly deserve it.
Kayley - Work seems to be keeping you on your toes. Is there a reason you are looking at changing universities? I didn't know whether it was just a different course they can offer, proximity, or what. Nosey aren't I?
I hope Andrew is totally back to normal now. Neil didn't have any complications when he had his done. Well, the anesthetic took a little while to work, so he felt a little at the beginning, but I was there to hold his hand, which helped. I was actually there while the whole thing was being done, which I didn't expect to do, but they asked me to be there, so I decided I could cope. I had to look away a couple of times, and luckily I didn't have a FULL view. It was hard enough watching Neil in pain and panicky, let alone being able to see WHAT was causing the pain.
Well, I have kinda run out of time and have to rush now.
Valerie: Congrats on your 3 lbs!! You will be blowing through the 260's in no time.
Sushi for breakfast? Sounds good to me. Sushi is really healthy (most varieties atleast). I don't like the raw stuff either but the shrimp, crab & all veggie kinds I love.
Rain rain go away. We haven't had any in awhile so I guess its good but I hate not being able to walk. Will have to resort to my old faithful Richard Simmons dvds.
Kayley: Welcome back. I wasn't "around" when you use to be here but I lurked for a long time at the beginning of the year & you were one of the chicks that inspired me. Keep at it. Squeeze in some exercise whenever you can. Sorry you are so busy.
Michelle: Congrats on your good TOM weigh in. Hopefully when she leaves you will have a nice loss. Stay away from that salt! lol
I like lifting weights more then cardio, by far. I have a dvd called Weight Lifting for Dummies & I use 3 lb weights. Its a heck of a workout! I've been doing it 3 days a week. I like to feel my muscles working.
Melissa: WOW, $8 an hour for internet time. I guess I'm cheap, lol. You don't have a local library? Our library's around here let you use the computers for free, you just have to sign in & have a library card. Big congrats on kicking that plateaus butt!
Brenda: Wow thats alot of water aerobics! Good going!
As for me:
Went grocery shopping & gots lots of good stuff. Didn't get as much as I wanted to, DH set a limit. Funny how we always have extra money for his stuff. But I got enough to make do.
I cooked up 3 big meals (taco soup, lazanga & broccoli/chicken concocotion) all super duper healthy (lots of veggies, low fat, low sodium, etc). I seperated them all into containers & put in the freezer. My own homemade "tv dinners" without all those dreaded "secret" ingredients, lol. I have 12 meals! I also made a big pot of green beans & onions, probably about 6 servings worth. Dinner should be set for awhile! Yay!
Also, wanted to let ya'll know about a awesome new product I found. They are made by Kashi (I love kashi products, very clean & healthy stuff). Its called Pumpkin Spice Flax granola bar. It tastes awesome! The fat & calories are pretty decent & its sweet so it could satisfy a sweet craving or just be a very healthy snack. Yummy!
Well, guess thats it for tonight. Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!
