Ammi-thanks for the welcome back! I did have a really good time. He treated me really well. We met his dad and talked a lot. Yeah I didn't do anything touristy but I got to hang out with him. The chemistry....uh it's there and it's not. I think there would have been more of it if he also wasn't sick. Oh. He was also very sick. He finally had his colonoscopy on Friday and they found a mass in there and lasered it out. It is being biopsied. So not only did he have to work, but he was in so much pain. Good time to go visit eh? lol So instead of trying to be in girlfriend mode I was in caretaker mode. He is planning on visiting in the next couple of months so I will let you know how that goes

wryrprincess- This is really a great place. The woman here are soooo supportive. We all have our issues and it is nice to come here and have someone who knows what it is like to be at this weight.

mechell and Brenda- That sucks being sick! I hate that when I am trying to be good, because when I am sick only things that I can't eat sound good because those are the only ones I can taste! I am having a hard time with that right now myself. I am not sick but my hayfever is killing me!! I might as well be sick.

Oh I posted some pics of just right after I started in my bridesmaids dress and then some taken today. I was excited about the difference! OH! Another NSV today! Some jeans that I have not been able to BUTTON since 2002, I finally was able to get them buttoned today!!! I can't wear them anywhere because OUCH! CAN'T BREATHE! But I GOT THEM BUTTONED! WHOOHOO!!

Robwen -- I don't think I've welcomed you back yet. I am sooo sorry to hear about your loss, I can't imagine.

But as for food -- I know you feel you ate badly with the corn dogs and all, but I wonder if it's in your best interest to not eat anything for the rest of the day. It seems that sets up a binge/resist cycle that can crack your resolve. Why not have something healthy for dinner -- lean chicken and veggies? Eating an extra few hundred calories may not seem optimal, but filling yourself with good, healthy food may do you more good than shutting down and starving yourself the rest of the day!

{Edited to add -- I see Ammi said the same thing!}

Nancy -- I sooo know what you mean about that thrill and can't WAIT to really travel to try out my own!

I tried yoga today and think I'll try again next week. It was a different kind of workout, and I need different right now!

I was thinking about the plateaus (how ever that is spelt lol) and as terrible as it sounds maybe they are the times for you to re-evaluate your eating plan or exercise regime??? Quite often its a case of jolting your system I think ... even adding a pound or two back on may do the trick to get it moving again .. just a contemplation I have been making.

I must have missed the Boob discussion lol ... but there is a lot of positives and negatives to whatever size you are ... I know as a larger person with big boobs I have seemed a little more in proportion, although fortunately my stomach has never stuck out more than my boobs .. then I would be really depressed .. but I will admit it was getting close! My cup is a F-G and I HATE it lol .. would love to see a lower letter appear in my future .. and if it doesnt through weight loss then a trip to the docs will definitely be in order, the back pain from them is a killer! When I saw that link that was put up about the woman going up to an M cup I was jaw dropped! Why on earth anyone would want over say a DD on purpose Lord knows!

For those with the dreaded lurgies bringing you down hope you get better soon ... Im feeling better today .. not so clogged up and when I got on the scales this morning I was down to TwoTown .. but as my official weigh in isnt until Friday I will hold off on celebrating lol .. still .. at least that is giving me the encouragement to keep doing my exercises and not cheating (too much rofl).

Patti - with you on the phone calls ... not sure about the vid games tho ... although ... now that I think about it .. when I do play them I sorta forget to stop and eat .. but that isnt a good eating pattern is it?? lol

Ammi - I think if I got non-stretch I would be about the same as you .. maybe a 26 ... Im tempted to try on things that are a little more fitting, but then I think it would be depressing when I cant get into the size I "think" I am lol ... maybe at Xmas when I hit my Xmas goal I will go and celebrate my loss Love your ideas for Misti's t-shirts lol .. definitely tempting!

Hee hee .. when I saw the body on the pic I said to Scoot .. ooh .. can have that baked potato now .. looks like I reached my goal rofl ... not that I was naughty like that .. but it sure was fun rofl ..

Xena - welcome back, sounds like you had a lovely time with your friend and Im sure even tho you have had a weight gain since you were last there once they got over the initial difference they were just happy to see you again Glad you had fun at the concert too ... Elliott was my fave too

Nancy - I know what you mean about going everywhere and anywhere you wanted .. although I was never lucky enough to see any place other than NZ until 2004 lol ... but I left home at 15 and moved pretty constantly from place to place ... when I left NZ for my overseas tour (7 weeks) I took one of my crutches with me to help with the walking, and in the end I abandoned the stick at my friends in Swindon cos I was going ok without it by then!! Still had stops to make due to my ankles giving way occasionally ... but Im sure Im almost back to that stage so will be walking places again for long times soon Great job on that NSV tho hun!

Wryprincess - Hiya and welcome on in ... I dont do water aerobics (not got the nerve for that yet lol) .. but Im sure there are swimsuit alternatives available where you are? Like swim shorts and a top or something ??? Good luck and well done on starting on your new journey Glad to see you on the boards

Chrissy - Hi and welcome back .. . sounds like you have had a couple of memorable adventures for sure And great news that you didnt put on weight ,,, even if you have hit that dreaded plateau! Good luck and keep up the good work

Nessa - Sorry to hear about your son .. that must have been terrible for you ..one of my nephews has Aspergers .. and my daughter has a milder form of it , I hope that it will not cause too much detriment in the long term.

Brenda & Michelle .... GET WELL SOON!!!

Okee .. Im sure I have missed a lot .. but will catch up again later if I can ... gotta go get lunch (1/2 baked potato in broccoli cheese sauce with a salad and 3 slices of fat free ham! - my fave lunch!!) and do my exercises Determined to make it clear into TwoTown on Friday

Huggies all!

I don't have time for a true post (have to get to bed)- but had to report the 5 pounds extra I had yesterday are gone tonight!! I guess that means they were water weight- but enough to scare me back into my resolve! I did 120 minutes today- 60 minutes kickboxing and 60 minutes yoga- back to back! I hope that the 5 pounds are gone forever- I know I'm not slipping like I did anytime soon- I just don't want to work hard, to lose the exact same weight over and over.

Talk to you all in the morning! huggies!

WRYRPRINCESS – WELCOME! What commitment to manage so well on such a strict plan while you’re out of town. Believe me when I say I know the challenges of eating away from home! I was a trucker for most of the last 10 years, and in the last 7 while I drove with my DH I put on, like, 70 pounds or more. Got it knocked down to within 15 of when I got married, and I quit the truck officially as of a week ago. We just have to do what we have to do to deal with this, huh? As for exercise, I’ve read repeatedly that walking is the best exercise in the world, so walk, walk, walk. Doesn’t matter if you need to sit down and take lots of breaks at first – you’ll get there!

CHRISSY – Glad to see you back! I just saw your pics in the bridesmaid dress – WOW! You’ve really lost a bunch of weight!!! BRAVO!!! * I adore Utah and Idaho. Best kept secrets in the whole U.S. I’d love to go camping up in Idaho! * It’s great that you’ve started working out, and that plateau is probably either a water wt fluke, or muscle building and weighing more – or a combination of the two. I went thru a spell of that when I was working out intensely and eating perfectly OP, so hang in there – it WILL pay off in the end, I promise you! You’ll be strutting around in those jeans in no time.

AMMI – Due to another dog needing extensive emergency surgery (kidney stones), my poor Simon spent the day without food and water, sitting in a lonely cage for nothing. I, in the meantime spent the day feeling sorry for him and worrying for nothing. We both get to do it all over again tomorrow.

YIPPEE – DOGPAL’s coming back!!!!!!!!!!

PATTI – What time do you eat dinner? Maybe we should all take turns calling you every night.

BRENDA – I hope you really do see that scale reading tumble down when you get past TOM.
BRENDA & MICHELLE - I’m sorry you both feel so lousy. When I had bronchitis I couldn’t breath well enough to do anything aerobic. I had two weeks at home that I could have been taking my exercise class or something, but I couldn’t do it. It’s horrible especially because it breaks your rhythm of workouts, so I hope you’re over this soon and you’re feeling like kicking up your heels again!!!

NIGHTKATT – What you said about allowing a couple pound gain and then regrouping after your metabolism has adjusted – I’ve read things that said exactly that. * As for the boobs & back pain, some insurances will actually cover that sort of surgery. A friend of mine had it done. * OK, I’ll wait for your official weigh-in and declaration, but I’m taking a deep breath so I can shout really loud for you………

See KIM? That was just a little 5# motivator. I’m glad you’re back on track. Isn’t kick boxing the bomb?

Although, tonight was kind of a “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” workout for me. I had one of those times where I’ll just felt I’d never make it, I’ll never get strong or healthy enough to do that whole routine 100%, but I knew at the same time that that was a lie. Even now I’m starting to see small improvements in my workouts. I JUST wanna be able to do it like the thinner women who’ve been doing it for years do it! Is that too much to ask for? I mean I’m only 281 pounds and have been working out for all of ….um, let’s see, a WEEK!? OK, so I’m gonna give myself another week to get as good at it as they are. Maybe two weeks.

So DOGPAL, are ya back yet??? Did you hear I quit the truck? Bill is out on the road alone now – Detroit tonight. Simon’s getting’ fixed, Gabe’s getting’ broke, Max is already fixed, and I’m already broke… but burnin’ calories every, every, every day! How’s the new place? How’re they poochies? How’s your DH? Have you been able to get to Curves?? SPILL IT ALL GIRL – WE BEEN MISSIN’ YA!

Just checking in... i am so tired. I struggled to day with food. i made some good choices but gave in this evening. I did walk once i got home only around the block but it was nice to get outside and have some fresh air. This time of year is very busy at work, i can do a 12 hour day at work with out leaving the building. i am going to try to get out and walk at lunch it helps me stay focused and of course is good for me.

Ammi i am so impressed with 70 pounds down! i was lurking on this site when you were just starting out. You have really had wonderful success. Keep up the good work.

i am to tired to do real personals but i really do read every post and i am like a silent cheerleader!

Valerie I love reading your posts hun lol .. always make me smile. I didnt read anything about metabolism ... I think its more logic .. one thing I have definitely learnt is that for every article that tells you one thing there are 2 that tell you the opposite rofl ... so its a case of logic over all else ... if changing your eating habits and cutting back on bad things shocks your metabolism into gear and makes you lose weight .. then when you reach a plateau doing that the only other thing I can think of to do is take a step back add on a pound or two just to remind your system which way its supposed to be going lol .. . nice to hear that there is one of those articles out there that say the same thing tho rofl ..

I think we have the same sort of insurances and waiting lists over here for the boob jobs and back pain .. Im just not going to put my name down on any of them until I have gotten close to my goal .. then if they are still just as big and causing me pain then they can go on the chopping block rofl ....

OMG .. Im with you on the exercise routines lol ... I love the Richard Simmons one cos Im not so bad after a week and a bit of doing it (still not 100% .. maybe about 85%) ... but the Turbo Jam and a few of my other ones Im like .. WAIT FOR ME!!! I have worked out tho that the main idea is to just keep moving and your heart rate up .. so even if you have to get creative with a few of their moves to be able to keep up while youre learning them ... at least you are still getting a good workout.

I dont know whats wrong with me today .. I was feeling worse yesterday yet I managed to fly thru the Richard dvd no problem .. today I was struggling almost the whole 40 or so minutes I did it! And Im feeling better today too!! Maybe its because I did it in the afternoon instead of first thing in the morning ... will test that theory tomorrow .. but OH MY ABS!!! rofl .. Im not sure if I should give them a day off from Richard tomorrow and just do the rest .. but Im fine starting the crunches .. until about halfway through the song rofl ... still .. its a case of knowing I have done it all before that keeps me going now ... but I now understand the NO PAIN NO GAIN!

Chicken for dinner tonight .. not sure how Im gonna cook it ... steaming might be good with a little drop of wine and fresh lemon and herbs in the water ... with steamed broccoli, zucchini (courgettes), and carrots .... still thinking of doing the little 1/4c of herb infused rice to go with it too .... oh .. gonna have WW jelly tonight I think ... Ive been a very good girl today ... almost had 1.5l of water so far.

Ayanna - lovely to see you posting hun ... hope to see you more often on the boards

Gawd this was just gonna be a quick note .. and I have rambled .. sorry about that peeps

Have a great OP day all!

Hi everybody!

Sorry I missed everyone's posts on the weekend. We spent most of the time doing outdoor things so I didn't sit at the computer much. This is a good thing, since normally I'm attached to it most of the time

I see some of you aren't feeling too well. I hope you all get better soon. Get lots of rest and hopefully that will help.

Congrats to everyone I see here losing and losing.. whoa it's amazing!! You guys all keep us motivated

I'm gonna keep this short cause it's getting to almost my bedtime. I have lots of reading of posts to catch up on since I missed a couple of threads. Just wanted to let ya all know I'm still lingering around. Oh yeah and I gained 4 pounds over the weekend but only due to the fact that I didn't drink my water OH I have such trouble with that one. I drank TONS of it today so hopefully within a couple of days I'll be back to normal again.

Keep up the good work everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BRENDA, I'm so glad you're feeling better!! Cornbread waffles? You mean you can MAKE them and not EAT them?? Not me, girlfriend! I'd have to snarf down about 4 of those, and then go eat the rest of the world. <insert Godzilla smiley> You ARE a good wife!

ANGIE - Always good to see you, but I'm glad you had such an active, outdoor weekend. That's the stuff that pounds areN'T made of!

KENYA - Now be careful, studying kills brain cells. I hope the clinicals went well & now you get caught up on your sleep.

NIGHTKATT - You're sweet - Thanks! Your kind comment made me feel good. * I agree with your logic on the exercise. It does make sense! It's just hard to fight fight fight to get it off, then LET it go back up even a couple. * I'm glad you're feeling better! For me p.m. workouts are definately harder than a.m. ones. In the a.m. the hardest part is just getting out of bed - and staying that way. Your dinner sounded delicious! Good job on the H2O. I haven't been getting quite enough of that lately, and most of what I drink is so late in the day that I have to get up all night. I finally slept all the way through the night (and the puppy only woke me up 20 minutes before the alarm fo once) but my weight is up 2 pounds this morning. Obviously I should just drink some water and go back to bed to give it a chance to come back down.

AYANNA - Good job on not giving in about your food at work, even if you did slip a bit that evening. Work was always a place I had trouble with. It seemed like I put my energy into my tasks and never put up any resistance to temptation. Even boredom at work made me eat more. Being tired at work used to make me take a walk... to the vending machines. If you spend that many hours at work and can control your eating, then you have a victory. Walking when you got home was an extra +++. You are SO on the right track for success. I hope today is an even better day for you!

NEWSNERD

I've got a visit with the eye doc today. I'm glad it's in the a.m., but it messes up my morning schedule... and I don't get to sleep in. My sleep schedule has been so messed up for the last 10 years that getting into a normal sleep rhythm is a big deal. I feel like I'm still trying to catch up, and I've never been much of a morning person. I can STAY up til 5 or 6 a.m., but GETTING up then is horrible. I better get used to it, or I'll be back in a truck again - NOooooo!

My little Simon puppy went off with his Aunt Barbara again this morning. Little does he know what awaits him.... snip snip! I will just have to fret until I know he's feeling better.

HAVE A DAY, BRAVE CHICKIES!!! And JUST SAY to !

Just saying good morning... running really late this morning!

Ammi thanks for loaning me the FFM. I promise to send her back in time for your Monday weigh-in. Argh I am .1 away from being down another pound; hopefully she will take it and some of its pals away before then.
