Stacey ~ Were you measuring your portions out? Most of us that have tried South Beach had great success. Not sure why it wasnt working for you.

Misti and Heather - thank you so much for sharing your stories. i definatley need the encouragement. i totally appreciate it.

also ladies - i do not want to hear any more self deprocating "im rambling" statements!!! you are NOT rambling, and every word you share could be helping someone who doesnt have the courage to post. you are all amazing and inspiring, and every word you share is important. dont forget that

Brenda - thanks for the bday wishes

xena (and the others - sorry) thanks for the tips on your workout videos.

and so even though its my birthday, i will go ride my bike to the gym and workout for a while. i dont have much else to do, and since i dont have school today, and i have to drive on wednesday, i need to makeup the time.

Misti & Kenya- thanks so much- you put a big smile on my face!

kenya- it's good to "see" you- I know you've been so busy since school stared- been missing you around here- good to see you are still doing well. If changing plans is what works for you-well, then, more power to you!!!

Stacey- I'm sure it must be frustrating, it sounds like you need a different doctor, as I don't think any plan is the right one for you if you haven't lost in 4 months, let alone gaining. As far as plans go there as such a variety on here. Jill does a plan were she eats specific foods daily for ...11 days? something like that and then has 3 days off. Ammi does WW and it works really well for her. Most others count calories, in their own ways...Katt did Jenny Craig and has just now switched to calories equal to what she ate on Jenny. I do nutrisystem. So as you can see, there are a lot of different methods, we all have to find what works for us, as do you- although I think I would throw away Southbeach!
As for weighing in some like to check their weight daily, but I think it's safe to say we all (mostly) weigh about 1x a week, and that's when we update our weight loss tickers and report our weigh-ins on the weeekly weigh in thread. I personally like to weigh only once a week, so I don't get frustrated by the fluctuations and I like to weigh on friday to keep me motivated for the weekend!

I just realized I missed some posts that were posted simultaneously (did I spell that right? ) to mine?

thankyou Wyllen & Xena- It makes me feel better to hear someone say that my mishaps aren't that big--I'm a prefectionist, so sometimes I'm overly hard on myself. Not that I don't want to do better at resisting urges, but I need to learn not to beat myself up so bad when i do slip up--thanks!

Except for me! I weigh daily -- actually several times a day -- and update my ticker the second the scale goes down a pound!!

But yah... whatever works.
