Hello Chickies!
Well, after yesterday's eye-opener I got down to buisness! I stayed OP yesterday, eating the proper amount of points (even if I did squeeze in about 4 pts of ice cream - I need that stuff OUT of my HOUSE!) I also did 10 minutes on the eliptical even though I was really, really tired and had a headache all darn day! I then did a bit of work with my itsy-bitsy weights (I'm such a weakling) and ended the day feeling pretty good about a new start.

Today is starting well. Had a healthy breakfast and brought a healthy lunch. I parked in my just over 1/2 mile away space and walked to work and intend to go to yoga after work.

Thanks Jilly! You are right...I have proven I can maintain (at least at 246 lbs) for five months. Time to lose some more. Good for you being one lb down!

Sniff. What do I care? I was only watching it for the plot! The Deep, complex, mind-bending PLOT! And the SCENERY!
I guess I owe an apology to everyone I crushed! I KNOW I read somewhere that he came out in the last couple of years...but I can't back that up now. And he WAS married for a several years in the 90's! So maybe you or I have a shot!

Well, I intend to get some actual work done today so I better run! I'll keep looking in!

Bad news - for me anyway. I woke up to a call from Bill this morning. "Are you ready to get back on the truck?" he says.

Duh! Anybody here wanna answer that question for him? It's an easy 'NOPE!', but I just asked where we are going and ran to Curves to get one last official workout in & pick up a travel pass. I'm boiling chicken, throwing laundry in, packing and still have to hose Steeg's leg, see the atty, get my brakes fixed and get a nap so I can drive to Wisconsin tonight. At least I love Wisconsin - CHEEEEEEEESE everywhere.

SHARON - I guess I'll pick up with Gabriel where I left off when I get back in two weeks for our Labor Day holiday. It's a long weekend, and will be about time for me to come home anyway. I could probably move faster with getting a rider up on him, but since I'm teaching this girl as well as the horse, extra patience is not only a safety factor, I want her to learn to go slow. Hopefully in the next time or two we'll be leading her around on him. Then we'll move on to lunging him with her up. I'll keep you posted.

BRENDA - I just figured since they weren't 'pure' that they didn't count towards water intake... but wuddaya think?

HAVE to run! I'm already getting behind schedule.

Hi All,

Wow am I behind on the posts, boy oh boy this post is going to be a long one. By the time I am ready to post it, it will be tea time So here we go -

Patti - I haven't heard of Radiata, I am glad you really enjoyed playing it, what time did you drag yourself off it?

I am glad you aren't weighing yet, time enough for that tomorrow and this time that FFM better have been visiting or there is going to be a vacancy for the FFM and I think we might need a FFF (Fairy Fat Father) he might be kinder

Sabrina - sorry that the scales showed you weighing more than you estimated, but at least it's 2 lbs less now you have weighed in the morning I always weigh in the morning, but I wear my nighty.

Sue - 15 lbs in two weeks is brilliant. I don't know why you had a gain this time. Perhaps things are just slowing down after such a great start and you had a gain purely from water retention or something. Don't let it get you down, you will see a loss soon if you keep on eating right

Brenda - oh dear me, I shudder to think what that woman is doing in work to make you want to shove something in her mouth every time she opens it It did sound funny, but I am sorry that you are stressing out and wanting to have a 'sugar fix'. You did well stopping at the few naughty things you ate, good for you I hope the woman who's been stressing you out will leave or just shut up and give you some peace

Actually I don't like clothes shopping because for one I hate seeing myself from all angles in the dressing room mirrors, and I always end up trying on clothes that look great on the hanger but look GROSS on me which depresses me. I am hoping I won't feel too bad tomorrow because I really want to find the perfect theatre going outfit. We went out today and bought Caleigh a gorgeous silky top and black jeans to wear to the show. She looked so grown up and I just wish I was a size 12 like her lol. One day

Lilion - so glad that you aren't down now and that you have realised that you weren't really trying to lose the weight for a while, so it shouldn't be a surprise that you didn't. You sound more than ready to get back on track now, you are making a great start with the journaling. I am sure the lbs will start flying off again now!!

Ok I can't help myself, I know I am not supposed to, but it's only a small one, and I just have to. What am I talking about............ this......................

I decided I had to see what all you ladies are drooling over, and well now I know, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Missy - wow, how did you cope when your migraines were every two weeks, that must have been a nightmare. Thank goodness they aren't so often now.

Angie - well done on the good food choices when you went out. I can't stand dry toast, if nothing else I will put jam on it

Great tips for sitting through a movie and not eating bad stuff, I like to have things like low fat pretzels, nice and salty and filling. It's ok I need lots of salt because of being an ostomate

Katt - I am like you, I used to love school. Nothing wrong with us really I am glad that the deans are going to speak with Ashleigh to see if they can help her stay in school and enjoy it more

LOL about the cow in your garden and your dogs response to it. Now did you milk it before you shooed it away

I hear you on the shock about how many calories you have figured out you need to be eating. It's one of the reasons I have never wanted to just calorie count, I just couldn't believe I would be able to lose weight with that amount of cals to be consumed. Maybe you could compromise and have more than Jenny Craig allowed you, but less than Turbo Jam suggests?

Speaking of which on doing the whole TJ in one session. I hope you won't be too sore tomorrow

Newsnerd - of course I don't mind you asking me questions. I forget that you and some of the others are new here and don't know about mine and Daren's love of long walks in the Mumbles It's an area in Swansea where I live, a sea side town that is so beautiful. Every Friday since I have been dieting and well enough we have gone for nice long walks along the promenade. Here is a link so you can see the place for yourself it you want http://www.visitswanseabay.com/about...articleid=4810

Well done on walking the extra 1/4 of a mile

Misti - brilliant NSV, it's always wonderful when you get anybody complimenting you, but it's just more brilliant when it's somebody like a doctor Great news about new your blood pressure improving too, what a great day

Val - I am glad that one of your first big goals was to be able to wear your wedding ring again, it must have made it all the more special when you got there. I hope the bracelet you mentioned will be nice and loose on you soon.

Oh dear I am sorry that you were so crushed about 'him' batting for the other team. You know what though, considering he was married, and has only come out since then, it means he's Bi really, sooooooooo, you can meet him, and make him realise that it's women, well YOU in particular, that he wants, not any silly man There is still hope so don't be too crushed I hope my picture further up this post helps to ease your pain

You're going back on the truck then, oh no..........it's not a backwards slide is it? Still if you fancy going then I guess it's not the same as being forced into it all the time.

Kimberly - a Hip Hop class I must be SO unfit, I could never handle something like that. I am glad you loved it and that you kept up with all the skinny girls. You have definitely impressed me

Heather - I know I have said it before, and I will say it many times more I am sure. But your posts are always so brilliant. You should be a diet coach you really should, you know just the right things to say, like the TANSTAAFL. So very true

Norma - good luck with your WI

Sharon - yes you did tell me I would fit into those jeans sooner rather than later. I will definitely try again in a month

How did it look like you had gained 3 lbs, had you snuck on the scales before WI? Well however you knew, I am glad you have seen them disappear again! Positive thinking that's what you need, tell yourself those 4 extra lbs you want to lose WILL be gone before you go to your parents for a visit

Kenya - I am glad that you post especially when you are really busy, thanks for checking in

Jill - wow another 1 lb down, you are doing amazingly well. When you get back on track you really DO get back on track

Nelie - sorry that you still aren't feeling 100%, hopefully you will be ok by the weekend so you can enjoy it more

OK I have caught up, phew, just in time to go exercise before I make tea. Take care all, and bye for now,

Hugs,

Ammi

I am trying to be good while at work today, but am just finishing lunch and thought I would pop on. I am back down a pound this morning. I was hoping it would be more, but I'll take what I can get.

I had an NSV this morning. I had to stop for gas and I emptied my little cloth bag that I stick my Luna bar wrappers in and noticed I didn't have any other food related items to throw away - no soda bottles, candy wrappers, fast food bags, etc. which I used to usually have a few of. Changing my eating habits has had an unexpected benefit of keeping my car litter free. Of course I am also not in school anymore and I don't need to eat on the run quite as much. Still, pretty cool.

Yes LILION, that pic was definately better! But don't worry AMMI, I don't have any desire to touch! Window shopping is a woman's joy, and she can pick any window she wants. (It's the guys that get in trouble peeking in windows - ha!) Quite frankly, he still looks disgustingly YOUNG, and at no stage of my life have I been attracted to 'boys'. Who started this crazy discussion anyway? ...oh. nevermind.

And Nelie (with the killer gorgous make-val-jealous hair) is right - Ammi deserves an award for the way she keeps up!

I'm supposed to be sleeping, so I'll go do that now. Night-bye.

Hello Ladies--- I hope everyone is doing well and staying OP.

Thanks Sue and Sharon for the nice words about my name. I have always wanted a simpler name. Of course I am named after the African country of Kenya. My mother fell in love with the country while she was in college studying African nations. I said before I die I will finally make the journey to the African country that I am named after.

Ok ladies this is my husbands last night at home before he leaves on his business trip to Manila, Phillippnes. SO I have been super busy getting him packed and ready for the international flight. I will miss him dearly for the 5 weeks he will be gone but I will have school and the children to keep me busy. I also plan to be ten pounds lighter before he returns so I am going to keep that in mind. I am going to make him a special dinner and big breakfast before he leaves. So bad that I can't eat all the food that I am cooking him but as long as he enjoys it that is all that matters to me. I never eat any of the food that I cook for my family anyway. I always cook something just for me as well

I'm just doing a quick drop in- I'm feeling exhausted again today- I never got that nap yesterday, but I think today is a must. I did okay today-I ate fruit at that breakfast meeting, and at the afternoon meeting I completley resisted the cookies! I did eat one small piece of cheese- I'm hoping it wasn't too huge a slip up- and I'm not justifying it- but i fell apart on the cheese because it's so rare that I see that kind available and its so good. but I did restrict myself to a small nibble.

I had a second Nurtisystem food that won't be making my "like-it-list" today at lunch. It was supposed to be potatoes, and it was pure liquid...don't see how that works. I tried a bite with a spoon and it tasted like powder...oh well, two out of nine isn't bad.

I've decided not to work out today- my knee isn't feeling right. However, i'm excited because one of the girls I work with has seen that I'm going to the gym quite regularly and she approached me, saying she needs a partner to get her but there. Now- she ways about 160, and is 6' tall, so basically she looks great- but she feels flabby, and out of shape. I guess it is possible to be thin and out of shape. so she and I have a schedule set up to go together Sunday-Friday with saturdays off- and we're starting tomorrow. I'm sure having a commitment to her will help me be that much more consistent and determined!

Everyone, you are all so motivating, and Ammi you really do deserve an award for keeping up- I just don't have the energy right now to talk specifically to everyone, but know that I am routing for everyone of you and applauding your successes!

Nap time TTFN (ta ta for now)

Patti - I am glad to hear that your sinus headache is going away slowly but surely!! I am sure having less time on your games at least for now will help ease the headache too.

Can't wait to hear how your weigh in goes tomorrow

Nancy - that's brilliant that you didn't have so much junk to throw out from you car. See, being on a diet improves life in many ways including a much cleaner car

Nelie - thanks so much for what you said about me having an award I think it's everybody here that needs the reward for reading all my waffling on

Lilion - great that you posted a link for a pic of Adrian, BUT this is where personal taste differs I think he looks GORGEOUS in the pic I posted, all rough and sexy The picture you posted he looks too much like somebody from a porn film LOL Sorry, just my opinion. Give me rough and sexy and half naked any day

Valerie - I see you agree with Lilion about the pics, must just be me that likes the wilder look

Kenya - I hope you cope ok while hubby is away for 5 weeks. It will be lovely for him to travel to such a gorgeous part of the world, but I am sure you will both miss each other terribly. I bet you are going to use this time apart to diet and wow him with your weight loss when he comes home.

Kimberly - that's great that you have a work out partner for the gym now, like you said, it should keep you motivated having somebody you have promised to go there with!

Thanks so much to Nelie, Valerie and Kimberly for being so sweet saying I should have a reward. I joked to Nelie that you lot should have the award for reading my waffling on, but seriously, I love keeping in touch with you all, and hearing all your news and commenting on it. It's really a pleasure knowing you all here on 3FC

Ok that said, it's time to go email now. I am sure I will be back before it's time for bed.

Hugs,

Ammi

Hello Brandilynn - I am glad you found us here, I am sure you will find, like all of us, that this is the best place to be for support on your weight loss journey.

Personally I am following a Weight Watchers diet, not going to a group, just using the knowledge I have from going to one years ago, and dieting that way. I have never liked the sound of that Aktins diet, and I am wondering if although you saw good losses on it, it really isn't something you can do for life, hence you being here looking to lose the weight again?

Some of us here follow the Curves diet, others, the South Beach one, then there's the Nutrisystem, calorie counting, WW, Sonoma. There is a diet out there for everybody. There are other sections of the board which focus on the different diets and how they work etc. Perhaps you could read some of them and be able to make a more informed choice about which diet you want to follow. Whichever it is I hope you will start losing the weight, and I will be happy to cheer as each lb comes off

Hugs,

Ammi

Hello Brandilynn24 Welcome... You are going to love this group of ladies. Which plan do you like more Atkins or WW Core. I am not really familar with WW Core. I say do what you really want and just stick to it. I am sure you will do great and we as a group will support you with well wishes all along. This group has really helped me get over a serious weight loss pleateu and I have been getting rid of my weight again since I joined. Anyway, Welcome again

Kimberly- I think you did great at work today. Also I think it is good to have a workout buddy. I wish I had one at times to get me to the gym Anyway I think you are doing good!

Ammi-- Yes I will miss him badly. In almost ten years we have only been apart once for 1 week when I had a nursing convention to attend in Baltimore in April. That was hard on us so I am sure this is going to be just very hard on me. We have been together since highschool so it is like saying goodbye to my best friend. I am just wishing he has a safe flight -- I know I will talk to him daily and he is taking the laptop so he can instant message me so I am happy about that. My fear is that I may not eat enough while he is gone and shed too much weight too fast. Don't get me wrong I like to she weight but at a healthy pace.. SO I will have to remind myself to eat while he is gone.

Take care ladies..

brandilynn24 - Glad to have you! Personally, I'm a calorie counter - which I loooove. In the end you have to choose something you are going to be comfortable with not just until you lose the weight you want, but for after - to maintain for life - as well. Good Luck! Hope to see you around!

Hi Ladies - Got in 60 minutes of walking...and it was HOT out! Doing my upper body strength training with DH later on. Gotta tone up if I wanna lose those inches!! No real news here, lol, just thought I'd drop in and update my minutes. Have a good day ladies!
Stay OP chickies!!
