Wyllen: I am so glad that you posted that occasionally you have a hard time getting started to exercise. I love to go to Curves once I'm doing it but getting there is like pulling teeth for me. Thanks for sharing that. I feel better
newsnerd: Good luck on the at the Dr. Hopefully it will be wonderful news.
Everyone else, be op and blessed!
As for me. I finally went back to Curves today!!! I feel so proud of myself. Now I will jump on the bike later and do some of that too. I am going back to Curves tomorrow with a friend so that will be nice to be able to have someone to exercise with! Take care all
Hi guys
Well, my weight is slooowly going back in the right direction. That is really good news for me *L*
Ammi~ way to go on -2!
Melissa ~ Congrats on the -6!!
Zelma, Heather, Nelie, katt and everyone else on the subject of kids ~ I like sending them home too And I am SO happy that someone else I "know" is choosing that way of life. Around here it is "weird" not too and no one else I have met here is choosing that lifestyle. I know I am selfish and I am happier I think because of it *L* Wait till hubby gets home today and I tell him that he has an appt on Friday am to see the doc about it
I think I am having my midlife crisis early *L* Yesterday I decided that I was going to get a third job. I work fulltime days and then I sell my jewellry on Sundays so I was sitting and thinking that I would like to have another evening job and saturdays once and a while. I am going to contact Penningtons (fullfigure clothing store). They give you a 50%off discount since you have to wear their clothes.
We have also made the whole vasectomy decision and I think that I am hiring a maid to clean my housea few hours per week. Thats whats going on in MY head this week.
ok... speaking of my house. Until I hire my housecleaner it isnt going to clean itself. Talk to you all soon!
I am back and forth on the topic of having kids, but I think I want them. I grew up with a huge extended family that all lived very close by (CT isn't a very big state, which is where I grew up, and most of my family still lived in the same town as me, let alone the same state). Now when I go to visit CT for holidays or whatever and I go to the big family gatherings, I miss being able to see those people all the time. I also HATE that my younger cousin has a baby, and he's about 2 now, and he will NEVER be familiar with me because I'm so seldom in CT. It makes me long for my own family so we can develop those close relationships I grew up with and miss so much. I guess it's one of those things you appreciate more when you've had it and then had it taken away.
Wyllen: I am so glad that you posted that occasionally you have a hard time getting started to exercise. I love to go to Curves once I'm doing it but getting there is like pulling teeth for me. Thanks for sharing that. I feel better
Annie -- my goodness, I guess I haven't posted often enough about how I simply DREAD the exercising -- frequently! I put it off, and put it off... I started setting minutes because it was the only thing I could think to do to keep me on track!!
In fact, I am procrastinating getting on the treadmill right NOW, by telling myself I have to stay upstairs and wait for a phone call. That's hooey, and know that I've called myself on my own hooey, I am going to go exercise right now.
Watch, I'll get back and feel a lot better/less hungry...
There. Treadmill done. Not my most intense or fastest workout, but I did it. Annie, thanks for giving me a reminder that not wanting to do it doesn't mean I shouldnt!
melissa -- yay on the 6 pounds! This is why weight loss isn't linear, I have nothing for a few weeks followed by loss sometimes too...
Congrats Melissa on the 6. And I just want to say to everyone that's doing all the exercise, I'm feeling really lazy just now. I KNOW I should exercise, but it's so dang hot that even when I'm indoors I feel "wilted". It's in the 100's here and it's gonna stay that way for awhile.
Hey, I have a question that maybe someone can relate too. I have trouble telling when I'm hungry. My stomach hurts, but sometimes I think I wait too long or something, because it will hurt even after I get something to eat. I can't tell if I'm hungry or if my stomach just hurts. Does that make sense? I never got the chance to be hungry before! LOL So what does it feel like?
Glad to see so many good successes. Annie--woohoo on getting to Curves!
I am still on the steady flatline. Still playing with the same three pounds. I keep consoling myself that at least I haven't gone up higher than that, but it's been so long since I've seen any new numbers DOWNwards that I've almost forgotten what it's like to lose.
But -- I've also not been moving my butt, so it's not like I can blame anything other than myself. I'm getting more on track with a routine in my eating habits, but no so much in the movin' and shakin' area. Maybe I need to take some lessons from you all! Can some of you just come to my house and FORCE me?
Jilly -- nice to see you here! Luan too! ltns!
Work is at a new high again -- those freshmen all come back very soon and there is a lot yet to do to get ready. Fall orientation to prepare, Welcome Week to get all in place, and all sorts of programs. But it's fun -- just wish I had an extra 2 weeks in there.
random question...... Does anyone know how much sodium is too much sodium? I always here "watch out for prepared foods becasue of the sodium" and I understand what to omuch sodium can DO... but... I dont get how much is too much? And, how about carbs? If you're not specifically on a "JUST SAY NO TO CARDS" diet, but you want to be smart about it.... what is a normal amount on a healthy weight loss diet? Anyone know?
Yeah on the New Site with Easier Picture Posting.... Maybe I'll actually be motivated to post some pics here finally At least I'll have no excuses
Anyone see Crock? Thought of all you nascar fans this past weekend when the brickyard was in Indy.... it's crazy around here at race time.
Kayley -- what is the ADventure place in Michigan you referred to???
Well -- lots to reply to but not a lot of time -- more later... consider yourself all high fived!
Hi everyone! I'm glad that you all seem to be doing well! Just reading your comments gives me such a better outlook on this journey we are taking together. Weight loss is so difficult, but it's worth the pain!
Update: I've started to notice subtle changes in my body. I workout everyday. I've lost a pound or so... I'm really happy about that.
I read an article the other day. It was discussing poor self-image. This article suggested that we focus on what our body can do instead of what It can't. I just found that to be really good advice, and wanted to share!
Dogpal- Great job getting back to Curves. Making myself get out and do some exercise is a constant challenge, so I feel your pain! Keep it up!
Melissa- Congrats on the 6 lbs. That's great!
Tilley- I know what you mean about the heat! It's been plain steamy here, too. And as far as the hungry/stomach pains, I think I know what you mean. I sometimes get a weird feeling that is sort of hunger-like, but it usually occurs like an hour after I eat, so it's not hunger pangs. Dunno what that is. And there were times that I went for weeks w/o actually feeling hungry. It's a pretty good feeling to have back!
Thank you sooo much to everyone who gave me congrats - it means alot to share the good things that happen.
Hi Ladies - Was at the mall today...planned to walk home with DH until we headed out of the mall into a HUGE RAINSHOWER!!! UGH!! It was just gushing out. So, needless to say we couldn't walk 2 miles in that with no jackets!! (It was around 80 degrees when we left home!!) But I did get in 30 minutes walking from my errands to the mall and such. So, it's something...I'm gonna try to fit in something else later with DH though. Well, that's it for right now!
Hope everybody has a good day, stay OP chickies!!
Congrats Melissa -6 you definitely have worked for it!!
Nice that you're seeing numbers too that you have not seen in a long time.
Congrats Ammi for -2! yay!!
justcallmeprissi- happy to hear you are doing well too. Losing weight is not just physical effort, it takes a lot of work in the emotion department too, I'm sure everyone would totally agree.
wyllenn - Do you have a cordless phone? No jack where your treadmill is? I got a phone that has 2 handsets, and only 1 needs to be plugged in to the actual jack. The other one just plugs into the wall (power) and it can sit anywhere, and communicates with the master phone set. I put it downstairs with my workout gear right in eye's view of my equipment. If I see the red light flashing, I won't miss the call. I sometimes have trouble saying "okay now get down there and do it" and it's a mind thing. Try this - it's worked for me - tell youself that you only HAVE to show up for 20 minutes. 20 mins goes by pretty quick. By the time you do 20 minutes, you are warmed up and if you are scheduled to do more, then you won't mind doing it. I alternate my workouts and on my weight lifting days (every second day) I only have to do 20 min cardio, the rest is weights. On my other days I split my cardio between 2 machines that i have. If I say "ugh I don't feel like doing this one" I do 10 and switch machines, back and forth.
These little tricks have worked for me since 2001 when I started exercising.
By the way everyone today was a -3 for me this week! Wheeeee
Here's what hubby got me in Hawaii on his trip:
Pineapple earrings (they are a wee bit kooky lookin but I love them since they came from him)
A Hawaii mug with pineapples on it
Keychain, pineapples on it
Magnets for fridge
postcards
Pineapple shaped wall ornament
Yeah.. why all of the pineapples? When he asked what I'd like to have i said a Pineapple, a real one. But then I remembered you can't transport food over the border, so I said get me something with pineapples on it.
