Since you all are talking about posting pics I thought I would pop in here real quick and let you know that a new version of the site is coming soon and it will have an easier picture posting function. WooHoo, can't wait.

HI everybody! Glad to see so many of you still cranking along!

Heather... ummm yes.. the scale moved... UP three pounds!! I just could not believe it... I am exercising 60-90 minutes average a DAY and GAINED weight again. It is really hard not to be discouraged at the moment. I was doing so well but now just can't lose.

Thanks for the comments on the picture (you too, Jen!)... LOL you know it is funny... I took those and then took some with all my makeup on and stuff... the "real me" one was BETTER! And Zelma, yes I did try it "your" way and it sure is easier to get the picture in the viewer. Only problem is it made them so much more close-up and every blemish and freckle showed LOL. But Zelma... not sure why but for some reason I really liked that picture too... LOL I decided to use it for my avatar, wet hair and all.

As for bigger pix... yes Heather I agree with you about people posting those gigantic ones which have not been resized... but I sized mine down to a nice pixel size that would have been nice here, but was unable to post it. Thinthinker it is good to know an improvement is coming to the site reference this!!! Yay!

Well today I called my doctor to get an appointment to see if she can give me any advice and input since I just canNOT lose weight any longer. However I AM losing inches because I am wearing clothes which were too small. But I just don't GET it why the weight loss stopped! As my brother (who lives way back in the sticks of Missouri) would say... "I been to two county fairs and a pie supper... and I ain't never seen nothin' like this!!"

Oh and Heather... LOL don't "knock" exercising our tushes off... for some of us it is the "way to go."

I saw the Christmas challenge too... but I too do not set deadlines on weight or size goals. I set goals that it is up to ME as to whether or not I accomplish them.

Talking Happy Monday, everybody!

You all are doing so good! This is a great group. You all are so supportive of each other; I'm glad I found you.

I have to say I am proud of myself because I did not give in to temptation last night. My extended family got together and, as usual, it revolved around food. There was grilled meat, and my potato casserole (potatoes, cheese, sour cream, etc.) which everybody wanted me to make. And finally someone brought cole slaw. And banana pudding for dessert. So, I had meat and a very small spoonful of cole slaw (was afraid of the sugar). I did not have any of the potato casserole, even though I made it, not even tasting it when I cooked it. I didn't have any of the dessert either. I was a little hungry when I got home because there really wasn't much there for me to eat and so I had some steamed broccoli that I had on hand. And I really didn't feel deprived. It did bother me that I couldn't taste my casserole because I wanted to be sure it turned out ok before everybody ate it!

I feel like I could have done better this week because I hardly exercised at all. But I have to remind myself that any exercise I did do is better than the no exercise I was doing before! I am down 8 this week, weighing at night with clothes on, BTW. Woo-hoo! I really would like to lose an average of 3 a week, but I know that's not very realistic. I will take what I can get!

Misti - I love your piccy hun .. you really look healthy and fantastic Great job!

Brenda (and others regarding kids) .. I had my daughter when I was 19, and was a single mother pretty much for most of her life. I missed out on doing a lot of things and gave up my music career which was just taking off when I got pregnant .. but it was a choice I dont regret. I always thought I would have like 2-3 kids .. but there were probs after I had Ash and I couldnt have any more .. but Ive come to terms with that too .. only one hurdle I havent passed and that is I cant hold a baby, not yet anyway .. my best friends daughter had a baby and I have only just started to hold her and she is almost a year old .. so there are still the yearnings there. I wouldnt want any new kids now tho. Ash is 15, getting a lot more independant and almost ready to spread her wings, my hunny and I spend most of our time without her around on the weekend as she is out a lot which I must admit I quite enjoy lol .. I suppose Im lucky having her so young really, cos Im still young enough to do a lot .. I know a lot of ppl are having their kids about now, my sisters kids are all 10 and under and she is older than me ... darned if I could do what she does now lol .. sometimes feel a little selfish about that .. but then you only have one life .. so sometimes a little selfishness is a good thing Good on you for your choices ... I love seeing my nieces and nephews .. but I love knowing they go back lol ..

I have been doing terrible with my exercise lately .. but the weather really affects me .. on crappy rainy and cold days I just like curling up under a blanket and watching a dvd or reading or cross stitching .. which is what I have been doing today too lol ... but I got in 7 minutes on the flyer yesterday .. and am about to get on it again in a couple of min for an afternoon go .. then hopefully I will get on again tonight to try to get my 15 minutes done today... but I have been eating right .. not quite as much as my diet plan says .. BUT I did manage to get down 2 litres of water yesterday .. boy did I feel bloated rofl ... and the bathroom became a room that had a frequent visitor too!! am a little behind today on water consumption .. havent had my first bottle yet, but will guzzle that down after I have been on the flyer ...

Hope everyone else is having better weather lol .. Im soooo looking forward to summer .. its a lot easier to diet I think in the summer .. you dont keep craving those comfort foods like casseroles etc .. and the salad vegetables are a lot easier/cheaper to get too! lol ..

Misti--I'm sure you've already tried it, but...about this time last year, I had lost about 40 pounds, and I was doing so well. I was exercising regularly, and I was keeping close track of my calories, but then my weight loss just stopped. I fumbled around with the same few pounds for over 3 MONTHS! Then I moved in with my boyfriend, and I absentmindedly starting eating more calories (and not just 50 here, 100 there...more like I increased my daily average by 2-300), and whoosh! I was down 10 pounds in a month! I can't explain it, but I can attest to it--sometimes, your body just needs a rude awakening

As for me, one day down. I am reverting back to the menus I purchased
(in a moment of sheer desperation) from the Idiot Proof Diet last year. I won't be on it forever, but I've been so insanely off track that I know I need this--I need someone to tell me WHAT to eat all the time and not make my own decisions for a while. The plan includes 4 meals a day and gets repetetive after a while (which is why I know I can't do it forever, but need it to kick my discipline back into gear), but it's basically just a reduced-carb plan that still incorporates a lot of fruits and vegetables. You follow the menus for 11 days (1 day is all fruits and veggies only), and then you go off it for 3 days and have whatever you want (within reason, of course--no use undoing 11 days of discipline with 3 days of bingeing!). So today, I stuck to it, and I've already prepared my food for tomorrow, so no excuses!

Oh, and I ate lunch at work today, too! I know it doesn't sound like a huge deal, but it's an important step for me

Hello everyone. I have been gone once again, and I do apologize. I'm about 5 threads behind. So many newcomers!!! I haven't even gone back and read all the threads I've missed, but I want to say CONGRATS to all our losers!!!

As for me, I gained back 2 pounds, and I'm furious with myself about it...but what can I do? I got a new goal, and that's to be at 260 by the time I go to a thing called Devil's Night Ball in Chicago...on October 14th...it's a concert, with a costume contest, and it's going to be awesome! 18 pounds...I can do this. I've come so far already, right? LOL...trying to convince myself....

What's new with Kayley, you might ask? I've been BUSY. Working nearly every day, and this summer, we have just been doing SO much. As you know, Andrew got the vasectomy, and he's feeling much better. We are heading up to Michigan's Adventure theme park on Wednesday...my day off. We're going to the theme park AND the water park! FUN FUN FUN! And then on August 20th, I have a concert that I'm going to in Chicago, and then on the 25th, my mom & stepmom are going to Washington DC for 10 days, and I'm having a small get together here. Then it's back to college on August 29th. My second year already. Andrew's going to be starting college in August for computer networking, and I'm so happy for him. We're going to the other concert I told you about in October, then it's Andrew's 22nd birthday, and then our anniversary in December. Oh, and we're going to North Carolina in the middle of November, and I really wanna be 250...that'd be 100 pounds lost. Whew. Yeah, I'm going to be busy for the next few months...although, the summer is winding down ...and that means I'll be online more, so you can (most likely) expect me to be a regular here again....not that anybody really cares...heh.

I just thought I would update you all, and say HI! And that I will TRY and pop in here more often, so I can do personals again!

Melissa -- Thanks for the Kayley update! Glad she's okay!

Zelma -- hmmm... perimenopause.... hmmmm... I AM 40... hmmm... la la.... hmmmm.... no, don't really want to think about that.... hmmmm... la la... why does that thought scare me???

Misti/Sue -- After I got to Onederland the scale actually moved up a few pounds for a couple of weeks and then whooosh... back down. If you are keeping on plan I would keep with it. It is REALLLLLY discouraging, but these things DO happen... scales are !!

Did I knock exercise? I didn't mean to!!

Oh, there's Kayley -- Sounds like you're going like gangbusters! Glad to hear you're doing well and so busy! I wish I were that busy! I wanted to lose weight to get more of "a life". Instead, I feel like I'm always cooking, shopping, and exercising!

Thanks for the encouragement, Heather! I definitely plan on keeping with things! Can't give up now! And I must be losing inches because I am wearing outfits that I could not wear a month ago... and my weight is virtually the same. Also I can FEEL the difference in my energy levels and also feel the muscles in my arms and legs which were not there before... wow, feels nice! And the difference in my complexion is amazing! I just try to focus on the positive and keep moving forward!! But I do think it would be a good idea to get my doctor's input... LOL she is going to be shocked when she sees me as it has been a while since I've been there.

And I was just funnin' you a bit about the exercise. I do get your point and it is very easy for people sometimes to overdo it especially when they first start out. I tend to go at it full force -- but when I was younger and in shape I was extremely athletic. So I am actually enjoying being so active again... in fact I wish I had time to do more LOL.

Dogpal... you are doing GREAT! Congratulations on all the weight you have lost. I am very proud of you!!! You are always such an encourager to others, too!

Hi all,

Nope not a couple of days, I am here!

I expected a bit of anxiety due to having to immerse hubby into my daily schedule again and now that I'm on a diet, him wanting to do things, etc.

It was a wee bit tougher than my other days but I managed well, actually. we went out for dinner and I got a grilled chicken sandwich and salad. He was going to have pizza and talked about bacon for a bit and I just asked him not to talk about it. He whined for a small bit and then said I was right, and he'd support me. He was tired and grumpy I think. Anyway he in the end got the same dinner as I did. Both with no mayo of course

I'm just cooking up some chicken for tomorrow's meals and hubby is downstairs doing his exercise and I'm gonna join him in a sec.

Sorry I don't have time to say more or I'd comment on some of the other messages

Tomorrow is weigh in day for me so hope for the best.

~ Angie
