I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.
If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.
Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

Hi Ladies - Well I was just INSANE yesterday/today (lol), I got in 110 minutes of exercise!!! The last thing I did - which I didn't post yet - was 27 minutes of upper body work with weights...I totally killed it!! I upped my weights for 1/2 of it, and even added on some reps - I was just feeling so pumped!! (It also helped I had my MP3 player blasting some good rock tunes!) My workouts yesterday/today (whatever, I'm referring to Saturday! ) consisted of 27 minutes of weights and 83 minutes of walking!! At the end of my strength training I had sweat running down my face, lol, I could barely see afterwards from the sweat getting in my eyes, lol, like I said, I pumped it up that session!! Well, probably just get in a basic walk tomorrow (15-30 minutes??) I'm guessing. But for now I'm off to post my minutes on the exercise thread! I don't know why I didn't start exercing before - I love it, LOL!
Have a good one, and stay OP chickies!!
rkrs - Nope, I workout at home! I own a few different weights of dumbbells and an exercise ball that I use. But I was a "regular" at a gym for a wee bit last year...I invested in a personal training session so I could be shown how to use things as she made up a exercise routine for me....stopped going cause of price, distance, and fell off the wagon. The machines seemed insane to learn to me, but as soon as they were explained it was like "Oh...okay...duh!"
Wow Melissa, congratulations on all the exercise! Isn't it wonderful when we can start doing this much?? It's definitely a process to get there! Good job!
rkrs I posted my congratulations in another thread... yippee for you! One thing... you mentioned you are only losing in the top half of your body. Well I did that at first too but I was okay with it since my boobs are so humungous (but not as much as they were LOL). But all of a sudden recently I stopped losing there so much and the big roll of fat around the top of my butt started disappearing! My walking friend at work noticed it too and assured me it is NOT my imagination. So perhaps it just takes it in spurts from different places LOL.
I have a credit at my plus size shop so stopped by there yesterday to see if there were any good sales. When I walked in the door my FIRST thought was, "Wow, look at all these HUGE clothes!" Six months ago I WORE one of their larger sizes... 4X. Now I wear 1X so most of their stuff is way too big! But it was my "instant reaction" that surprised me! Apparently I am starting to "see myself" as smaller.
There is one brand which runs really small so I still can't wear the 1X -- but I found a gorgeous blouse on the clearance rack... tried it on and it was a bit too small so I started to hang it back when it "hit" me... "WAIT... you WILL soon be able to wear it!" So I bought it and it is now in my "victory" stuff so I will have something nice to wear when I lose a bit more.
Another nice thing... I have TONS of nice (a lot of them new) skirts and pants which I bought either at yard sales or clearance sales. I bought lots of stuff when I was selling on eBay and picked out the best to hang in my "someday" rack. But I am now into the smallest of my blouses except for a few... can't wear a lot of the pants and skirts yet but need to start stocking up on tops. LOL I have not worn a skirt in YEARS so people will be shocked when I start wearing them! But I DO plan to jazz myself up as much as possible as I get skinnier. It is SO hard being so fat and all the clothes look as if I am wearing my grandma's wallpaper!!!
Good morning all! Melissa- WTG with your exercising! I've been a slacker lately, so I'm hoping I can use your inspiration to get going again.
rkrs- GREAT JOB getting to the 200's! That is the day I am longing for (for now) and know you've got to feel great about it.
I've decided I'm getting back to walking every day this week no matter what! And going to keep riding my bike a little at a time until it gets easier and more comfortable. Ouch does that seat wear on you after a while!
Well, same old story from me diet-wise for the past few months..."I've fallen off track, but I'm getting back on!" For some reason, I keep getting back on for a few days and then just completely saying screw it and go back to eating whatever I want. I know I know what to do--I even know most of you here know that I know what to do--it's just STICKING to it. I'm not overly restrictive, but for some reason, I always feel like I need a whole box of snacks instead of just one, or enough fast food for 2-3 people instead of just a kid's meal (BTW, I saw a trailer for Fast Food Nation yesterday, so it should be coming out relatively soon--not that it will affect my eating habits in any way, but I know some people here are interested in seeing it). So anyway, I'm trying to get back on track yet again. I've managed to still stay below 300 pounds, so at least I've still maintained that initial goal from when I started.
In other news, my new job is going fabulously! I am insanely busy, and I LOVE it. I worked almost 50 hours my first week--I LOVE jumping in head first rather than what happens at most new jobs (here, read this manual for 2 days...read some of our other products to get a feel for the company...blah blah blah...try not to stab your eyes out with a pencil during all this boredom ). I've been there 2 weeks now, and I already feel like an important part of the team, as I've had people from my direct supervisor to the VP of HR to the company president/owner tell me how happy they are I'm there. The one bad thing about being so needed and busy is that I rarely have time to eat real food. My first week, I only ate lunch one day, and that's only because it was provided to us during a meeting we had from 10-2. I brought a frozen dinner, but it's been sitting in the freezer at work since my first day. I need to start making sure I have time to eat something every day because by the time I leave work, I realize how hungry I am and either stop for fast food or eat entirely too much at home before dinner.
Anyway, thanks to all for the continued support--I've gotten PMs from some of you, and I can't tell you how much it makes my day to know that people care so much. What a fabulous group we have here
Rkrs, congrats on getting below 300, say goodbye to the 300s forever.
Wyllen, congrats on losing 100 lbs total. I hope to be there soon myself.
Jill, I'm glad you love your new job, that is awesome. You can get on track, I know it.
I'm not sure if I'm sick or not. I haven't been able to sleep very well lately. Yesterday, I was totally exhausted. I was able to do my workout but I felt sickly tired and just wanted to sleep. I had a full day yesterday though and didn't get a chance to sleep until bed time.
My workouts in general have suffered lately although I do plan to get back on track. I still feel tired today but not as tired as yesterday. My food has been pretty good except for a minor slip up yesterday. Next week, I am thinking of going liquid for a couple days although it is hard to do around my BF. I don't think he likes it even though I have a very healthy shake drink mix that gives me a good balance of nutrients.
Not that I feel guilty about it, but yesterday I had a couple cookies (thin mints) and a couple small scoops of ice cream (light). Probably a little over 200 calories total which I guess isn't bad for an indulgence but still it wasn't something I needed. I try to control my sugar intake really well so I wish I hadn't eaten them and I still don't know why. Anyway, no big deal but I just wish my sensibilities would out rule old habits sometimes I think if I had felt better, I would've been able to pass up the dessert.
Hi ladies. Well, I've mostly been lurking and not posting for a couple of weeks. Mostly because I don't have much to say as I continue my struggle to stay OP and to exercise. I have not given up but I am still not "in the groove" yet. Gained 1.4 yesterday at my weighin but I expected it as we had a celebratory lunch the day before at my favorite Mexican food place complete with margaritas, chips and salsa, queso, and sopapillas for dessert. I knew it was a bad idea the day before a weighin!
I was motivated to post again just so I could say HIP HIP HOORAY to Wyllen for hitting that 100 pound mark. That's amazing and you continue to inspire me.
I also want to say to rkrs for breaking into the 200's. You're doing great! Congratulations!!!
It's nice to see lots of new folks out here too.
Well, I am off to the gym. I haven't exericised much lately and it's been even longer since I actually went to the gym to do it.
Well it is for me anyway! Hubby comes back home tomorrow morning, I pick him up at around 8:30 am!!!!! yay!!!! Finally!
Today is cleaning the house day, gotta get things back in their proper places and all of that, before the big mess gets dumped on the floor from the trip Major laundry probably coming too.
Well I think for me the drinking water is working finally!! Today the scale says I'm at 295.5 so I'll have at least a couple of lbs to put on my ticker by Tuesday. I hope it stays right there until I get to Tuesday but sometimes it goes up and down.

Big big woo hoo!! for you getting to the 200's. Awesome, wow you've really lost a lot of weight and good-bye to 300 huh!!! and not only that you're almost at -100. You're just rockin along!
Melissa! I'm so in awe of the amt of walking you're doing. When my hub gets back I'm going to get him to start going out too.
Misti
Good for you on buying that top you wanted. You'll probably be wearing it very soon. Isn't it nice to buy smaller sizes and sneer at the bigger sizes
nelie
Hope you're feeling better soon. It happens, don't be too hard on yourself about it.

Congrats on the job and glad you are so happy with it. I'm a workaholic over here and have let lots of things go because of it at times. I always have to remind myself to stop working and get my meal in, mostly lunches I have that trouble. If you don't have the ability to eat lunch - if you get too busy - why don't you pick up some protein bars and keep a couple at work? Depending on which plan you are following just look at the stuff that is in it. I buy ones called Powerbar harvest, since they are lower in fat 4g. but if you are a low carb person they have lots of those too.
wyllenn
Thanks for the detailed info on how you've gotten this far. It is always great to hear different perspectives on things, because someone might say "whoa I didn't even think of that".
Thanks everyone for the nice words for me making it to the 200's I am so proud of myself. Now I am working on getting of another 17 pounds. Once I do that I will have lost 100 pounds. I went shopping today to celebrate. I got myself a size 22 nice dress pants from JcPenny and a blouse to go with it. They were both on sale and I also had a ten dollar coupon so I only spent about 7 dollars for the outfit. I am really frugal in that way So anyway that was my reward to myself.
Jill your new job sounds great. It is also good that you enjoy doing your job You are very lucky!
Xena have fun at the gym. I will be dancing around the house while I make dinner for the family! I always seem to start dinner early on Sundays.
Nellie thanks for your kind words. You are right I plan on never seeing those 300 again. I always say that quote that you have in you signature. "Eat for the body you want, not for the body you have" I love it and it has really helped me out lately.
rks - WTG on your fantastic weight loss!! OMG that is so great!! And good on your for treating yourself to a new (and great bargain!) outfit .. you definitely deserve that for sure - when we gonna see a piccy of you in it?? Dont fret about where the weight is leaving from either .. it will all balance out .. Mine goes from the bottom first - which is really annoyin cos I dont really have a butt then rofl .. wish my top half would go first .. definitely balance me out more rofl ..
Melissa - cripes .. I get tired just reading your posts ... the amount of exercise I mean ... Im still struggling to get 20 min on the flyer! Youre great!
Misti - Good on you girl ... thats what I should be doing .. looking at smaller clothes ... I keep telling myself to .. but then I think why waste the money Im never gonna get down that much .. but then .. that was the old me and I havent gone near a clothing store in ages lol ... will leave it for a little while yet .. I have clothes in my wardrobe that are a little snug still so have something to work my way down to ... I have a couple of pairs of my fave pants that it looks like I wont be wearing for long .. already Im having to hike them up!! Happy in a way . but NEW pants!! grrr rofl ...
newsnerd - good on your new goals .. know what you mean about the bike seat ... ouch!! How did I ride a bike so much when I was a kid?? Good luck
Jillybean - welcome back on the wagon Great news about your job, I suppose your new challenge for yourself is to take time to stop and eat lunch. You need a little alarm telling you to eat something lol ... even if it is one of those health bars, gives you extra energy and keeps your metabolism going too. What about making fresh sandwiches the night before?? Or a salad?? Something that is a finger food so that if you really cant stop and eat (although that would be a lot better for your system in the long run) you can nibble as you go. Good luck and great to see you posting
Nelie - I hope you feel better soon, doesnt sound nice at all - I felt similar last week for a day or two tho. Maybe your body is lacking something its wanting which is why you had the sugar indulgence (which wasnt really a bad one either!) ... I cant remember who said it ... but everything is fine in moderation .. its when you binge that the trouble happens lol .. Dont be hard on yourself and dont put your body to any "work" until you are feeling 100% again or it will just make it harder and more tiring which will put you off wanting to do it .. good luck and get well soon.
Xena - nice to see you posting and good luck on your progress (LOVE Mexican food too lol ... my mouth was drooling after you said what you had lol)
Angie - Bet you are definitely excited and no wonder .. Im bad enough after not seeing my hunny all week .. let alone not seeing him for a couple of months!! It was hard not seeing him for that long when I went travelling ... cant imagine doing that again. Great on your weight loss ... and Im sure your weigh in will go fine .. get plenty of sleep tonight so you are all fresh faced and awake when your hunny comes home
Wyellen - WTG ... ab fab congrats for reaching the 100!! That is phenominal! And such a great result!! *bows down*
Well its the start of another week for me .. actually it started on Saturday lol .. but I have finally managed to get at least 1.5 litres of water in me ... talk about feeling like Im one of those bottles half filled with water .. you know you knock it a little and the water keeps undulating in it lol .... but it definitely helps having a pump water bottle that I just refill .. Im going to try for the full 2 litres for the rest of this week ... so much liquid! Better go and get breakfast .. Im running a little late today ... set my alarm wrong and didnt wake up until the man coming to replace our laundry floor knocked on the door (OOPS!). I am also looking into getting some Yoga DVDs for me to workout with .. does anyone else do yoga?? Im only allowed to do low impact things due to all the injuries I have had in the past .. and I used to do yoga eons ago lol .. so thought it would be nice to do something like that again .. I did think of doing pilates .. but when I see their butts sitting on their heads on the covers I do have to wonder if the people have any bones???!!! Still .. I may give that a try too ... and Tai chi ... anybody doing anything like these??
Melissa - cripes .. I get tired just reading your posts ... the amount of exercise I mean ... Im still struggling to get 20 min on the flyer! Youre great!
LOL, thank you!! I'm just trying to do as much as I can until I get lazy again!!
