Hey guys I have been thinking of a few things, My Birthday is this Sunday, the 18th, and I would really like to do whatever on this day.. and the Should I??? is there, I thought I would pick out an old favorite meal I used to have and that is what I would go for on this date.. BUT.. I am struggling with the fact that I am Not in that way of life anymore. and Perhaps I should celebrate by staying with my new life style.. I am just a little wondery right now as My Best Friend always makes my favorite cake for my Birthdays and when she asked me what she should do on my birthday , I really did not have an answer. But I have been ponderring ever since.. ahhhhhhhhhhhh.. just one of those thinkers I guess..

Now how have I missed THAT? I'll have to go join in... but not today as I twisted my knee so did my one 10 minute walk and realized I had best sit stuff out for the rest of the day as far as exercise goes.

Smile The Results Are In!

Hey Gals! So, I got my bloodwork results back today...and everything is GREAT!! My total cholesterol is 3.59 (normal/good is between 2.00 and 4.59) and my good choesterol is 1.37 (good is 1.10 and up)! My sugar level is good, too. Along with my blood cells, liver and kindney function, too! Also, I have a good amount of calcuim as well, sodium is normal, as well as magnesium and B12. YAY!! I was worried...no reason to be, but I was anyways, lol. Something that lifted my spirits was when I asked the DR what I should look to improve on when I come back in 6 months or so, and he said "By the looks of these results, you don't need to improve anything"! THAT was nice to know, lol! So I'm gonna go back in 6 months to make sure I'm STILL healthy. Well, that sure brought my stress down a bit, lol. Have a good one ladies!

Misti -- I wondered why you hadn't joined us but figured you were busy with other challenges! I know it's hard to keep up with things (why I never carried through on the walk across the US -- too many threads to juggle!)
Please do join us!

Nancy -- I get the need to vent. Glad to hear you're keeping strong.

Crock -- what to do for the birthday... what I've tried to to still do something special, but not necessarily the same kinds of food as before. Go out for a nice meal, but maybe order a "new" favorite, or something like that? It's something to think about at least! I order a lot more fish and a lost less pasta than I used to!!! Happy birthday and let us know what you do!!

Hey everyone… well it’s official, I’m sicker than heck I’m hoping it’s just a summer cold… but it’s starting to feel icky in my chest. With my asthma, I’m just hoping it doesn’t turn into asthmatic bronchitis. So I’m pretty much resting, and sucking in all the water I can take to keep myself hydrated and pray it doesn’t get worse.

It would totally suck if I got worse my graduation is on Sunday and I don’t want to be sick… *cries*

No personal replies today chickies… I’m off to rest.

Take care!

Good Morning All,

It's not such a hot day today, in fact it looks like rain. I hope it doesn't though because I have some washing out on the line and another load waiting to go out!

Heather (wyllen) - thank you for the congrats on my 3 lb loss. I am so excited thinking that next week I will be in the 200s

Nancy - thank you too for the congrats. I am sure that if you keep up the good attitude, and not give in you will soon be shifting the lbs again too What you have to keep telling yourself is that as long as you are doing the right things then no matter what those scales say, you aren't gaining fat. It might be water weight, or muscle, but it can't be fat. I am positive you will see those numbers coming down again.

Thanks for letting us know you spoke to MariaLucia, I have been wondering if she is ok. I also think of her every time I post replies because I make sure as per her request that I don't choose lime green for my posts

Patti - I am glad you were ok about resting up over the weekend. I can't remember, have you been to the doctors about your foot, or do you just think it's painful because of all the exercising?

I am glad that your hubby is making healthy food, but why do you feel so full? You know you don't have to finish everything that is put on the plate. Just stop when you feel like you want to.

Crock - I think that you have really turned a corner when it comes to how you eat. So when your birthday comes why not just enjoy a lovely slice of the cake your friend normally makes you, have a few beers with your friends, and just enjoy the fact that you can celebrate a birthday without having to eat loads! We always seem to equate happiness and celebration with eating, but it doesn't have to be that way.

Misti - sorry to hear that you have twisted your knee. I hope it will be ok soon.

Melissa - I am not sure if I have said hi to you before, I have a memory like a sieve anyway, Glad to hear your blood work came back so good and that you don't have to worry about it. It's always great when test results are good ones.

Congrats on graduating your writing course. You sounded very proud of yourself, and rightly so

SueMarie - I am so sad to hear that you are feeling so unwell, especially with your graduation so close. I hope that it is indeed just a summer cold and that it won't turn into that nasty asthmatic bronchitis

Mel - did you ever get to the doctors about your possible heel spur?

Annie - hope you are keeping well and the back isn't playing up.

Brenda - for some reason I have your name on my reminder list for the 15th of July. I know your birthday is the 22nd, so is anything happening on the 15th??

Love your new avatar photo by the way!

Ok I have a bloke coming to give me a quote on some rubbish removal, so I have to dash. Take care all and have a great day.

Hugs,

Ammi

Patti - it's cool isn't it when we start to feel full after eating much less. My apologies for thinking you were making yourself finish meals when you didn't have the room

I hate to be a panic merchant, but remember when I looked up that link for Mel about heel spurs? Well I read that the more you work out the worse it gets and if you don't rest up or seek medical intervention asap then you will more than likely end up needing surgery on the thing! So as good as you are taking pain killers and keeping on going, it's not necessarily the best thing you could be doing. You really need to go see a doctor.

Hugs,

Ammi

Morning guys! Finally sunny here (it has been raining for what seems like 2 weeks now) so I will do personals later. Right now I have to hang out the laundry and get some grub into me. I am already 2 hrs behind which isnt the greatest way to start the day. Tonight we are going "shed" hunting. We need an outbuilding for our "crap" so we found a guy who builds them cheaper than we can build our own about 45 minutes away. Going to pay him a visit tonight.

OK I am off for now. I'll be back when the laundry is done!

Wyllenn and Ammi~ Thanks for giving me your opinions on the matter of birthday tradition...... I am just thinking about things.. not making a decision as of yet.. We will see how it goes Sunday, I am pretty sure I will be consistent with my Life as it is now... but we shall see.... The only thing on kilter I have done in 4 1/2 months is drink too many beers on 2 occasions.. other than that I have been right on track....

Brenda - it's so weird to hear that you have had two weeks of rain there. Here for the first time in a LONG time we have had two weeks of glorious hot weather. It's been a real treat. Today it has rained for the first time and of course it had to be the day I had washing to dry outside. It's now hanging inside, but I did get one load dry outside before the rain started.

Patti - I am glad you are cutting back on your exercise and that you will go see a doctor, I will email you the link I put on here before so that you can read the info yourself. Saves you going back to look for it amongst all the posts.

Crock - whatever you decide to do for your birthday I hope you will be made to feel special by your friends and family and that you will have a lovely day.

Got to go now, but in the words of Arnie, I'll be back

Hugs,

Ammi

Smile Weigh-In Day for Me!!

Morning Everyone!! So, I jumped on the scale today...and those couple swimming sessions sure helped along with my regular calorie counting...I am 5 pounds down for the week!!!! That's the same as all 3 previous weeks combined, lol!! (Lost 2, 2, then 1pd previously) So that's a total loss of 10 pounds in 4 weeks - yay!! I have a horrbile cold and sore throat, but that weigh-in is just making me so happy that the cold doesn't matter, lol! Pushing my ticker all the way to the right was GREAT, haha. My next goal is to complete another 10pd ticker in the next 5 weeks.
Have a great day everyone! Stay on track!!
