Default 300+ And Ready to Try Again...#945

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!

Good news to report. I lost 2.4 at my weigh-in this morning. That's a LOT better than I thought it would be. I really did not eat perfectly OP this week but I did drink lots of water and I do think that really helps. I have decided to switch back to Core this week and see how I do. I really need to focus more on eating good healthy foods like lean meats, fruits and veggies, etc. and I find I do that more when I am following the Core plan. So, we will see how it goes.

Like alot of people this weekend, I have a BBQ to go to. I have decided I am going to make some deviled eggs with fat free mayo (to keep them Core) and bring a veggie tray.

Patti - I guess I missed it last time I posted, but a big HURRAY for you breaking in to the 200's. That's awesome!

Ammi
- I hope your back is feeling better soon and you can get back on your Gazelle and keep working off those pounds!

Nancy - How are you hanging in there with your recovery? I am glad you were able to stay home and rest this weekend. Hope you are feeling well.

Annie - That is so sweet you guys wanted to take your dogs out to show them their new home. I would do the same thing. Don't you know they will be loving all that extra land to run around and play in!!

Well, I better go get those eggs started or else I will be late!

And, to all my fellow Americans on this board,

Happy Independence Day

Today, even though I really don't want to AT ALL, I am going to clean out my bedroom. It is beginning to look like a war zone in there. Hopefully, it won't take too long as it is so hard for me to stay focused on cleaning. I start and stop and start and stop so many times. Plus, it is a nice day so I can open the window up wide, turn off the AC and get some fresh air in there. Must keep the door closed though so that the kitties don't run out. Tomorrow is my mom's bbq and then Monday Mikayla has to go to school to start her summer program. She has a school bus that picks her up and drops her off but they informed me that the school bus company may go on strike and I am praying that they don't. I don't have a car and her school is a ways away so I'll have to take public transportation. I can't even keep her out of school that day because they say that she HAS to be in school the first day for her to be able to take part in the program (state regulations). And for the actual 4th, well frankly, I don't know what I'm doing that day. Maybe something will come up before then.

Hoep everyone enjoys their weekend.

S/C/G: 295/288/285 MINI GOALS!

Height: 5'7"

Default

Hi Everyone!

I am new here and today is my first official day of making positive changes and keeping track of stats etc.

I am 295 (which I am hoping is close enough to join in here!) and am trying really hard to not feel depressed or overwhelmed.

I have decided to make small mini-goals and am going to try making better food choices and moving more. I get way too obsessed when I try to follow a "plan" and if I fall off the plan I tend to do a total 180 and binge myself silly (not good.) So I guess you could say that my plan is no plan!

I am 31 years old and have been overweight since I was 9. Im tired of being tired, Im tired of having things I cannot do. I am tired of hating summer because hot weather seems about 10 times more uncomfortable when you are overweight. Im tired of not having sex with my husband because I am too self consious! I want to start a family eventually and I KNOW I cannot do it healthily at this weight.

I recently have been making much progress in other areas of my life and now it is time to get in touch with my body and learn to love and take care of myself.

Here is to a new beginning!

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!

Off to the mall in a bit...getting little stickers for my own personal July Challenge (my sister is "gonna try" to do it with me) - Ooooh! If anyone is interesting in a month long challenge please PLEASE message me, or post and I'll message you, and I can give you all the info. It's gonna be fun! I even have a little group online for it. (Not yahoo, a different site you'd need to sign up for...maybe) Anyways, so Day 1 of that, trying to get as many "points" as I can for my challenge. So, not much news here...good weigh-in this morning...seems to be staying on track for Tues! No -0.5 this week, yay!! Anyways, I will post again later with more relevant things to say, lol.
Stay OP chickies!!

Xena - congratulations on your 2.4 lb loss It is so wonderful to see the numbers going down isn't it. Well done too on making those eggs to take to the BBQ. So tell me what exactly is a deviled egg? I like Mayo and I like eggs, so it could be something I like

My back is very weird, I was able to exercise and it didn't hurt at all, but whenever I sit down it starts to play up. How weird is that. I will be lying down as soon as I finish here and hope resting up will do it some good.

Patti - you say my ticker is looking pretty good, well I have to say yours is looking pretty darn great too. We have lost exactly the same amount of weight as each other, our starting weight was just different

Brenda - Happy Canada Day to you Hope you don't mind me asking, the US celebrates their Independence on the 4th of July, what is it that Canada is celebrating?

Hope the rose planting goes well and that you don't end up with too many thorns in your fingers

Tracey - how did the bedroom cleaning go, did you manage to get it all done? I bet it was nice to have your window open and get lots of fresh air into there. AC is ok, but nothing can beat fresh air.

Enjoy your BBQ tomorrow, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that Mikayla gets to start her summer program without the hassle of the buses going on strike.

CC - hello and Good on you for making the choice to lose weight and for coming here for some support. You couldn't have picked a better place. It sounds like you have it all planned out well, especially setting mini goals. They always seem more achievable than our ultimate goal, and every time we reach one we feel really fantastic!

You are like all of us, fed up of being fat and the restrictions it places on us, but we are all doing something about it now, so for us Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Melissa - Happy Canada Day to you. Did you get the stickers that you went out for? Your month long challenge sounds great, but not for me thank you. I don't like to be in competition with others, nor to set a date for a set amount of weight I need to lose. I am happy just plodding along as I am. I hope you get lots of people on your site though and that you all have fun with your challenge

Ok got to go post on the exercise thread before I lie down. Take care all,

Hugs,

Ammi

Ammi- Just to clarify the challenge isn't people competing against each other at all, and there's no set weight to try to lose...it's mainly things good for you to try to do each day. i.e. Drink __ oz of water, or exercise for 10 minutes, etc

Well, got my stuff to track the things I'm successful in. Also walked over a mile around the mall getting stuff, lol. Yay! Had a nice sandwich for lunch, lots of veggies, yum! Well, I'm off to organize my bedroom.
Stay OP everyone!

Melissa - my apologies for misunderstanding about your group, I guess I saw the word challenge and automatically thought of competition. Sorry, and I hope your challenge is brilliant.

Hugs,

Ammi

I have started a thread for my "challenge"...hope to see some of you ladies there!! Feel free to drop in and say if you are "in"! Here's the info:

JULY'S SHRINKIN' STARS CHALLENGE!!

Come on in and join the fun! Late entries welcome! Here's how it works:
There are 10 things each day to strive for - don't worry, you don't need to get them all! Also included are things done only a couple days each month. Here's the breakdown:

July 1st (Or on your starting day!)
Record your starting weight and measurements

Everyday
Say 1 good thing about yourself to yourself when you wake up
Drink 3+ bottles of water (500ml bottles as an example)
Count your calories/points/carbs and stay under your limit
Take 5 minutes for a silent meditation
Exercise for 10 minutes (bonus stars for every additional 10 minutes!!)
Eat NO fast food
Eat NO junk food
Drink NO sugared soda
No eating 1 hour before going to bed
Log your star points each night

Every Saturday (Feel free to do your own personal weigh-in on the day you usually do it.)
Weigh yourself and record it for this challenge

July 30th
Record your final weight and measurements

So, grab a journal, write down each of the goals, and stick a star beside each one you complete! Add up your stars each night and at the end of the month add up your days to get your monthly Star Points! Then next month let's try to top our personal accomplishments!! Together we can do this, chickies!!

Let's get moving!

(Feel free to post any questions if something needs clarifying!)
