Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again...#920

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!

Good Morning all,

Mel: Congrats on the -1. Any pound down is a good pound! I love all the yummy healthy things you planted in your garden.

Flady: Glad your headache has moved on!

Suemarie: Oh, don't think about running please. Just play softball. I know that you will be terrific! Do your best and I bet you will still be better than most!

Julee: Glad to see you posting. It is a treasure to see you when your life right now is so hectic. Big hugs.

Kayley: Welcome back home!

Misti: I swear I would have guessed your photos to be in your 30's! You look so lovely.

hi to all of the rest of my friends. I'm just babying my back unfortunately. I'm so mad because I won't be able to reach my goal of 400 minutes for May. I did come closer than I ever have so far but still. UGH! Stupid back.

Blessings all,
Annie

I am fighting myself right now . . . part of my brain is trying to talk the other part out of going to the gym tonight. This almost never happens and it is weird for me that it is tonight. I even have a good excuse (TOM, and it's really heavy) but I don't want to let that stop me unless it absolutely has to (I have nightmares about bleeding all over the treadmill, but I know this is getting into TMI territory). Ack - I am not going to let it stop me. I am going to stop at the CVS, pick up some more pads and go to the gym tonight.

Whew...came in for a break from outside...VERY hot out. It's been in the 90's for about the past 5 days. Luckily, we have central air. So, I'll give a little brief synapsis of our trip.

We left here around 1am finally...and got to Wisconsin with very minimal traffic around 5:30am, since we stopped for something to eat around Chicago. I was so awake from the caffeine that I just stayed up, and played with the two ferrets whilst everyone else slept. Got up, and I dyed my hair, Steve's hair, and Ashley's hair, and then we headed out for the day. Went to Bratfest 2006, and ate some brats, saw the Oscar Meyer Weinie-Mobile, and other stuff...was pretty fun, and got our picture taken with the world's largest grill...haha. Went out to dinner, and walked along State Street, going into all the little shops...they ate ice cream, and I just looked longingly at it...lol. That night, we rented a couple of movies, and just vegged at his house...so HOT in there. They didn't have air conditioning or anything. On Sunday, we got up, went to lunch, and went to the free zoo. It was a lot of fun, but it just got SO HOT that we couldn't bear to be there any longer. So we went back to his place, hopped in some shorts, and went and jumped in the lake. The water was FREEZING, so we didn't stay in TOO long, but it was refreshing nonetheless. Went back to his place, got cleaned up, and went to dinner, then out mini golfing. Funnest mini golf place EVER. It was interactive! lol...and you could go down the slides, and do all this other stuff. We went through the Wizard of Oz themed one. We were pretty tired by that time, so we just went back, and went to sleep. Monday, we got up, and got packed, and went out for breakfast. Then, we had to head home, where we got stuck in traffic for about 70 miles. Ugh. Finally got home around 9pm, though, and Andrew & I went to Walmart, so I could see about getting the pics from the digital camera developed. They're going to be here on Thursday, and I'll see about getting some pics on here to show you guys.

NSV: Seeing the pic of me, and noticing that yes...my body looks smaller...I can never admit this to myself. Although I still hate my face, and the double chin, the tummy has gone down quite a bit.

And I'll admit...I was a bit upset, because NO ONE said anything about my weight loss. I know I know...it's for ME...but I couldn't help but be disappointed.

I stayed on plan the whole time! I mostly ate salads...well, actually..I had one buffalo kicker thing from a restaurant we went to, but that was IT! I had SO SO SO MANY opportunities to cheat, and I DIDNT! This is a NSV for me, too. I also weighed the same as when we left...according to the scale. I weighed in after I had eaten on Friday, and on Monday...so hopefully, I'll see a LOSS. The scale in WI showed me at 285...but we'll see!

Kayley - You are on South Beach, right?? I am considering giving it a try. I have to go out and get the book though to make sure I'm doing it properly. I know the hardest part is going to be the first two weeks but if I can make it past that I'll definitely be more confident that I can handle phase 2.

Hi everyone else. It has been SO hot and humid here in NY. I only have an AC in my bedroom but I get tired of just sitting on the bed all day and plus the computer is in the living room. I want to get an AC for the living room and hope I can find a good deal. Plus, my living room is lot more roomier than my bedroom and I really want to start exercising again but no way can I do that without and AC.

I know I have sparse around here lately but I'm going to make an effort to start posting more regularly again.

Hello, everyone! I wanted to let you know that I started a June exercise thread and encourage you to join us over there! Now is the time to kick those habits into gear!!!!!

Right now we're setting goals -- how many minutes of exercise to do for the month. Then we'll be posting what we do. It's GREAT for accountability, and you can set any number of minutes you like for any kind of exercise you like!

We also keep track of the group exercise during the month and are seeing how quickly we get to 100,000 minutes of exercise for the year (the 100K challenge) -- we are over 62,000 minutes in!

I hope to see you all there!

Tracey - Yep! I'm doing South Beach...although, I'll go back on phase 1 for a few weeks here and there, if I start to slow down in the loss department! Definately reccommend the SB Dining Out Guide. I found it more helpful than the book, and you could just look up any food, and it'll tell you if you can have it. Definately worth the $10 I spent!

Wyllenn - Yay! The exercise thread! I absolutely LOVE IT!!!!

Good evening, ladies. I am happy to report that I am day 4 OP and still going strong. I really seem to have turned a corner with the struggling I have been doing. Part of it was reading some of the posts from the maintainers forum and just realizing IT CAN BE DONE. And it just made me start thinking that there are a LOT of things in life I have worked hard to accomplish and have done it, so why should weight loss be any different? It's a project and a lifelong one. Others have done it, so can I. So, I have 3 more days to go and then I weigh in. I'm actually looking forward to it. How weird is that?

My goal for tomorrow is to avoid cake at the b-day celebration we will be having for a co-worker who turns 50. So, I am stating for the record I WILL NOT EAT ANY CAKE TOMORROW! There will be other days that I will eat cake but tomorrow will not be one of them! I'll check in tomorrow to verify I did what I said I would do.

Also, just wanted to say to Kayley that I know you are disappointed that no one mentioned your weightloss. Try not to let it get you down. Sometimes people aren't sure exactly what to say so they choose to say nothing and that may very well be the case here. Weight is such a touchy subject with so many people that some folks are afraid to say anything. You know you are losing and are seeing the difference and so do we!!!!

teahoney - Glad you are still stopping by. Keep coming, we miss you when you are gone.

That's it for me tonight. Of to read a bit and then turn in. Have to get up early and get to the office before the 50 year old birthday boy. We plan to really do his office up for the occasion. (Being naughty is so much fun!!!)

Xena -- Isn't the maintainers forum great??! I've been reading them for a while and have learned a lot. I'm trying to think like a maintainer whenever possible! Congrats on the "click"!

And you're right, you really don't need the cake. if you want it and can plan for it, fine. But don't eat it just because it's there.

Ban mindless munching... my new motto! (one of many!)

Hi everyone! I am trying hard to "come back to life" after the cruise... wow I really kept up with the party a LOT LOL... now am still so exhausted. But it was worth it!! Oh and yay I DID it! I lost 2 pounds on the cruise!!! It was NOT easy so I am kind of proud of myself!!

Kayley, sounds like a great trip... and hey I see that ticker moving right down there too! How disappointing when no one notices our weight loss or at least doesn't SAY anything... they MUST have noticed!! Hang in there! Glad you could see the difference in your picture! I could really see a difference in my cruise picture, too, as compared to the before one!!!

Teahoney, I know what you mean about the heat! I bought a window AC unit for my bedroom last fall but have never gotten it installed. Need to call my friend who had volunteered to help and get him over here!!

Xena, I'll be looking for that "I didn't eat cake" post!!! Good for you!!!!

Everybody else... keep up the good work and don't become disheartened! Remember the goal and it IS worth the sacrifice!!! Keep going!!!

Kayley, sorry sweetie I missed that. Looking at your tracker you have 1 more lb. to lose for your birthday. You can do it.

But remember Kayley if for some reason you don't you have come along way girl. 61 lbs. is quite the accomplishment.
