WOW--- so many of you are seeing such GREAT loses. I'm SOOO proud of you!!! My last weigh in was last THursday.... after my 4.5 loss the week before.. yeah..........ummmm... had a .5 gain. grrrrrrrrrrr to me. But YEA to you guys!! We shall see what THIS Thursday brings. sigh. Guess it's time to give myself a bit of a talking to
Still having problems with my heel. I know I need to break down and go to the doctor but I have no idea when I'm going to be able to. Today I was at work at 8 am and left at 7 pm and I doubt that's going to change for awhile. But if I can't be on my feet all day once I need to, yikes. Dont' know what I'll do.... wish I knew someone who's had a heel spur; would love to know if that's what this might be ( I know.. I know.. THAT'S why I should go to the doctor )
COuple of quickie notes:
Valerie --- you mentioned music on your computer.. have you discovered pandora.com?? I LOVE this music option because you can totally customize it. I put in an artist I like and it plays that artist every few songs, and lots of other similar artists. It's awesome. I have tons of "stations" for any mood I'm in.
Sharon.... yeah, you're right on the "be careful not to overdo the gardening" advise... The backs of my legs are really sore! Think that's my body's way of telling me I need to work out more often so I don't get so sore doing stuff like that. sigh.
Zelma --- I'm floored by that other teacher's behavior. SHEEEESH.... sounds like adolescent behavior, not adult behavior. Seriously, I'm just amazed that she's being such a child about it all.... starting trouble, denying, lying. Craziness.
As far as the tulip goes... I don't have a lot of personal experience with tulips as Ive not grown them BUT... I do know that you can put them in the ground OR leave it in the pot. and leaving it in the pot seems like less work to me. Once it's done blooming and the flower dies, just cut it down to the dirt and cover it up dirt or grass clippings or something. You can store it right in the container over the winter (garage, shed, anywhere dark and cool/cold). In the spring, just bring it out and you SHOULD have a new tulip before too long. Just keep it watered in the spring just as if it were in the ground. If you do decide to put it in the ground, the ideal time to plant it, I think, is in the fall. Just cut it down, and plant the bulb 6-8 deep and you should see a tulip grow in the spring. Of course, there are tons of varieties and some may be different (and, of course, I'm talking about fall that we have---dont really know how to adjust for Australia
Wyllenn -- tenure??? Tha'ts HUGE! Congratulations!!!!!!!!! Way to go!!
Ammi --- try the enciladas without making them Mexican or spicy if you want. You can do any kind of stuffing and any kind of sauce, I would imagine. FOr me, the spicier the better! (I put hot sauce on almost everything it seems lol I'm afraid I've killed my taste buds so much that now I HAVE to use tobasco or redhot on everything) !
Flady -- I'm so proud of you with your walking! I'm so sorry you experienced such a rude boy while doing so (what are parents THINKING to not say anything) but I'm glad you could shake it off and not let it stop you. Every step is a great step! Way to go
Hi to everyone --- hope all is well in your corners of the world!
HPNOTQ - Salmon is one of the highest fat/calorie types of fish. It's got the most Omega goodies in it, but I bet that means the most cholesterol, too. I wonder if a white fish would be safer for you?
Hi everybody. I GOTTA go to bed or I'd love to chatter at you all! Here's to a great tomorrow! Tomorrow we'll all be won't we?!!!
Valerie-I'm not much of a fish person....I have only ever eaten it as frozen fish sticks or the fried fish I can get at Long John Silvers...I doubt another type of fish would help me at all. Oh well...I found some different things at the grocery store that should help add some variety.
Everyone have a great night...I'm a little sleepy, so I think I'm gonna go lay down and call it a night. In case I don't have time to hop on until after work....have a GREAT Tuesday and I'll for sure see yall tomorrow night
Kayley: Thanks, I think I will reach my goal too. It is so exciting for me to realize that in years I have maybe if I was lucky do 1 hour a month and now I am almost up to 400 for a month. I will be a happy camper if I make it. If I don't, I will have come awfully close.
Wyllenn: Congrats to you on Tenure!
Luann: I live in Post Falls right now. I do lots of stuff in Coeur d alene all the time. Like, Wednesday Dentist and today I was at Borders and Bed, Bath and Beyond. LOL.
Hynotq: Congrats on another 7.75 inches gone. Way to go.
Vicki: Hi, glad to see you posting again.
Flady: Hugs to you for that kid that wasn't taught manners. At least you didn't let it stop you from exercising. Good job. Give your hubby a big high five for us for keeping the walk going after a bad comment.
Blessigns all, I am going to go and start to read a book my hunny brough me from his work. They have a book exchange in the break room and he though of me and brought me a Judy Blume for adults that I haven't read. Yea!
Dogpal
Kayley – I have a scale that tells me my body fat. Not quite sure what it all means tho… but its nice to see it go down along with the weight! I am taking all credential courses for teaching… they are: educational psych, literacy, culture, English Language Learners, and an assessment seminar.
Going to loose 200 – It defiantly feels good to be below 350… I just hope it keeps going down!
HpnotG – Thank you! Yes definitely exhausted… cant wait for a break! So you do DDR too huh? It’s fun! I do it as well with my daughter. Great exercise and can spend time and have fun with the kid as well
Thinking about hopping on the treadmill but I’m so exhausted, I don’t think I’ll last!
I had a fairly early night last night so once again I have to play catch up with the posts. I can't be too long though as we are going out today to pick up new glasses for Daren. It's going to be a busy week this week with us having to go out every day. I hate weeks like that
Annie - so glad that you are sure you are going to make you goal on the exercise challenge. I started exercising again yesterday but as it's so close to the end of the month, I will wait until June to join the exercise thread.
Kayley - hmm you've lost over 60 lbs, I've lost 20, somehow I can't see me catching you up let alone passing you It does feel great to only be 2 lbs away from where I was last time when I gave up dieting last November. Onwards and downwards I say
Well done on being so active today (or yesterday lol), all that walking and the bike ride too. I bet you never thought you would see the day when you would be doing so much and loving it!
Heather (wyllen) - well done on getting tenure from your college. I am glad you celebrated and didn't go mad on the food!
SueMarie - I am glad I am not the only one to be like that with 'before' photos. It's the same as my weight, I don't mind tellng people what I weigh, just so long as I can say, but I did way much more but have lost a lot kind of takes the sting off admitting how heavy I am.
Patti - well it's now officially Tuesday so you can get all excited about AI again now. I know what you mean about getting days wrong though. Last week I kept thinking it was one day ahead of what it was. Anyway I hope you enjoy AI, you will have to let me know how Taylor does.
Brenda - we should call you the fundraising Queen I bet you could get blood out of a stone!!
Hpnotq - Oh boy, you sure are losing those inches fast, how are you doing it, are you exercising like a mad woman? I still haven't measured myself since a month ago, I am too chicken. I think I will do it when I have my first no weight loss week on the scales. It might cheer me up if I see how many inches I have lost.
Vicki - am not sure if it's me reading it wrong, or you wrote it wrong, but you said you weigh 236.4 and are thrilled because you have broken the 235 mark. Did you mean to put 234.6? Either way, you have had a loss, and it has taken you below 235 so keep up the good work
Flady - did that little boy call your hubby fat to him, or did he just ask his mum why the man is fat? I have had that happen to me a lot, kids asking why that lady is so fat. It does hurt because they aren't trying to be mean, just stating the obvious. Of course if that little boy did actually call your hubby fat, well that's just rude and he should definitely have been reprimanded by his mum.
Well done on getting out there and walking, and isn't your hubby a sweety helping you with your pants and socks this morning when you were so sore after so much walking! I went for a long walk with my mum many years ago. We were both dieting, the weather was beautiful, so we just walked and walked. Mum hadn't been walking like that in years and she was so thrilled that she could do it and felt so fit. The next day though she could barely move, her legs hurt so much. It took the shine off the day for her, but I still think she did brilliantly! Just as you did, good for you
Mel - I found this link on a medical site over here which explains what a heel spur is and how they are formed http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/heelpain.htm It will give you a better idea of if that is what you are dealing with yourself.
Woops, did you have some bad days with the diet in the last week, or was that .5 gain just your scales telling lies and being mean? Either way, I am sure you will lose it and more before your next WI.
Ok if I can think or a filling for an enchilada that is yummy but not spicy I will give it a go. I could make myself something mild and then give Daren his as spicy as he likes
Sharon - have you gone to the doctors yet???
Lilion, Val, Luan, Crock, Nancy, Christine, Dusty, Brandnewme, Catherine, Lori, Imnotfluffy, Amber, Andrea, MariaLucia, and anybody else I haven't mentioned, hope you are all ok and having a good day.
good morning everyone. ot much news to tell today . got to get started on my treadmill cuz hubby will be home today and that means cooking for him yuck! i like days when i can just pop a lean cusine in the microwave! i will definetly be watching AI tonight in stead of CMAS which have lately been sucky anyways!
Sorry for the confusion but I was talking about the fact that I generally weigh myself in the mornings and I always lose weight during the night. I was right because this morning my scale said 235.0 lbs. YAY for me. I have to get ready for work but I wanted to update all of you since I told you that bit last night. I'll be by later on today to get caught up. Keep up the good work everyone.
Just a quick post because I am supposed to be getting ready for work! But I just had to say to Ammi for making to to 20 pounds gone and to SueMarie for getting under 350! Also to Wyllen for making tenure AND celebrating in an OP way!
OK...gotta go get ready. Hopefully I will have time to post more tonight. Later, chickadees!
Hi guys!! Guess what I actually got up at 6:30 this morning and got myself to the gym before work!! Ohhh and Now I'm at work and I actually feel...great! Now if I can do this for 20 more consecutive days I'll be set! I was actually pretty pathetic, I only did 8 minutes on the elliptical, but they were a hard 8 minutes!! Then I did the rest of my 22 minutes on a treadmill. I felt a little self-conscious. My work out clothes are not the greatest, and then this skinny girl in a sports bra and these tiny little shorts got on the machine right next to me…umm in a row of about 25 machines. I am the only one there. And she got right next to me. I sorta freaked out, because I listen to my headphones, I am always afraid I am breathing really loud or something. Oh well, needless to say I left for work feeling great. I plan to add 2 minutes to the elliptical time every day until I can do it really really well. Yeah! I am not gonna add my minutes to your workout sticky thread because I wasn’t here for the beginning of the month and I don’t want to mess up your guys’ goal!
Wyllenn, Tenure?!?! WOW! Great job! You are doing great all over the place! Now I have to go find your bio in the bios pages so I can see what you teach!!
SueMarie, I hope you are able to slow down this week and get some sleep! Sleep is so important and it sounds like you are really doing a juggling act right now! Good luck on a stress free week! AND Great news on getting under 350, that’s splendid!
Ammi, Photos!! What a great idea, I have to do that before I lose anymore weight. Or I have to find someone to take them (fully clothed hehehe). I tried to set up my camera but it doesn’t have a delayed flash. So I have all these pictures of me trying to dive in front of the lens in time. Nope, it’s just not working. Now—to delete those embarrassing action shots lest someone see them.
Kayleystar, Thanks for the good luck on getting outta bed. I actually did it! Good luck on your job hunting!!
Hpnotq- Yeah my brother is seriously upset about the amount of DDR I’ve been playing. Put my own music on?!?! Where do I sign up? That sounds great! I get a little tired of the same old j-pop songs! And the new shake, the right kind of shake, was much much much better!! Thank goodness. I’ve been having them for lunch, it’s the first protein shake that actually makes me feel full. Woowoo.
Flady, What is wrong with parents!?! My mom or dad would have killed me for saying something rude to a stranger in public. Some people just don’t get it I guess. Irk! Oh well it sounds like you are doing a fantastic job anyhow.
Alright, back to some real work!! Speak soon!
~Dusty
I got kidnapped yesterday by a book I had taken on vacation. I just had to finish it - I am weird like that, sometimes when I start a book I just can’t stop reading. I read over 400 pages yesterday (it was 850 total). I was up until 2am finishing it! The book was Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. A bit too much of a romance for me, but I still enjoyed it overall.
It was a bit weird coming back to work today – I am still going through mail and email, but wanted to pop in to say hi.
Patti - I'm not one for those Lean Cuisine meals, but sometimes they just hit the spot, especially if I am hungry and want something quick. I don't like the fact they are so tiny, but I always have one or two in the house just in case.
What's CMAS, whatever it is I am glad it's not in competition with AI, it would be awful if you had to miss that. Are you going to be voting?
Is your foot still ok after resting it the other day?
Vicki - thanks for explaining about the weight thing. You still deserve a big
Xena - hope you have a good day in work. Are you going to watch AI tonight, and are you going to vote for Taylor now that you can't vote for sweet Elliott?
Thanks for the congrats on the 20 lbs, I can't wait until it's 40 because then I will have lost 10 lbs more than on any diet at all in my all my years of trying to lose weight.
Dusty - WOW well done you on getting out of bed early to go to the gym. Shame that skinny thing decided to work out next to you, but hey, it's just like a before and after shot
I am the same when it comes to the exercise thread, I will start adding what I do when the June thread has started.
Well you certainly painted a very funny picture when you were saying about how you have been trying to take your own photo and jumping in front of the camera but too late I hope you will be able to get somebody to take photos of you, I think it's important to have 'before' photos!
Nancy - thanks for the congrats on the 5 lbs lost, I was quite surprised because after losing 2 lbs the week before I expected to stay at 2 or 1 for my last weigh in. It was nice I was wrong!
Don't you just love it when you get such a good book that you don't want to put it down. I have had a few like that, and have ended up reading the whole thing in one go, even if I got very little sleep Glad you are enjoying your book so much.
Have you watched the Doctor Who episode you recorded while you were away? Hope you enjoyed it.
Crock - is weed eating your way of saying you are going to weed the garden. If it is then I bet that will work off some calories. Glad you are doing ok OP still, can't wait to hear how you do at your next WI.
Just popping in quickly to tell you I'm still here but incredibly busy with the kids out of school until the end of August!!
We are going to Grant's Farm today! It is the home of General Grant and in the St. Louis area. Now they have lots of animals for the kids to see and pet, bird shows and all kinds of fun stuff!
Mike turned TWENTY yesterday!! We spent the day at mom and dad's and went fishing and boating.
Glad to see you are all doing so well!! I'm considering WW and I have to do more than Consider it! You are all inspirations to me and I know I CAN do this!!
CMAS are country music awards. im thought i ws gonna be able to watch both shows but i went back and looked again and it is in direct competion with Idol. I will be voting for Taylor i want him to win so bad!
