Misti - I know a cruise of course is more important than the TV, but aren't you going to be missing the final of AI?? Oh my, how awful. Still I am sure while you are enjoying strolling the deck of the cruise ship the last thing on your mind will be who's winning AI Famous last words but you have less chance of being sea sick on a big ship than you would on a smaller boat like a ferry. So fingers crossed you won't feel queasy at all. I think a cruise is one of the most relaxing best holidays you can ever have, and I am sure you will have a wonderful time.
Elaine - You have a really good attitude to losing weight. You are right, a half pound loss is still a loss and that's the main thing. So if you only see one of those now and then it's just fine. I am terrible for being disappointed if the scales don't show what I expect them to, unless of course it's a bigger loss I need to remind myself of what you said, any loss is a good loss! What day is your official weigh in day?
Thank you for your kind words about my messages. I often worry that I come across as a know it all, or corny, or fake, just saying the right things in the right places. But I don't know it all, I can't help it if I am corny, and I sure am not a fake, I genuinely mean what I say in my messages or I wouldn't take the time to write them
Jill - hey stranger, nice to see you posting. I am sorry that you have gained back some of the weight you have lost. But you have had a lot of social occasions recently haven't you and that always makes dieting so much harder. That and any stress you have been under. Don't be too hard on yourself. Go enjoy your sister's wedding reception, and when you come back let Monday be your fresh start and get back on track. You will soon lose those lbs you have gained.
Patti - I am glad you think I will enjoy AI, though I have read some posts over on the AI thread and people don't seem to think Elliott did very well at all compared to Katherine and Taylor. It'll be a real shame if he doesn't make it to the final
How long do you spend on your tread mill every day? There was a girl on here a while back, she used to set her lap top up on her treadmill, or a book and she would read as she walked. I thought she was winding us up, especially about the lap top, but she sent me a photo to prove it lol. What do you do to make all that walking less boring?
Lori - your day with your friend sounds just wonderful. Sitting on her porch just looking at the pretty view of the woods. Bliss. Now why can't I be there instead of in my bedroom looking out a the rain that is lashing down!
Crock - oh well I am feeling a bit more optimistic now, if you didn't slate Elliott then he can't have been as bad as some have said. Don't get me wrong, I do like Katherine, but she is just like any other pretty female singer. Let's have somebody who is more of an individual with a unique voice win, and to me that would be Elliott or Taylor. Oh it's so dreadful that I have to wait to Friday to see who goes through to the final - not fair Of course I could look on the AI thread, but this week I don't want to know early, coz it will disappoint me so much if Katherine doesn't go.
Glad you can see the tickers now, but sorry Yahoo is playing up. Maybe you will need to do what I did and uninstall it so you can reinstall it. Mind you, things are different with this latest yahoo I have. My name shows up now as ammi s and not ammi32. Weird.
How did the doggy date go? Was it love at first sniff
Misti: What a great feeling to fit into something you doubt you can. That is the best!
Sharon: Hey! I am breastfeeding, and it seems to be working better than I've heard it does for weight loss (now that I'm actually watching the scales and eating reasonably). Score, eh?
My Aidan is 14 weeks. We have a bouncer for him (what we'd do without it I dunno) although its rare for him to want to be content in it when I get free time. LOL I find that if I get to get on the computer for a brief bit I'm lucky. I don't know if it ever gets better for time, but now I just can't find the time to keep up with stuff that needs to be done around the house and all the nursing and exercise too. Lame excuse, I know. I am rolling my own eyes with you'all. Hopefully once the weather decides to stop raining we can get out in the stroller more often.
Ammi: for the 5 lb salute! I'm feeling ya on the rain - good for the gardeners, not for much else!
Not much planned for today, jeez I'm sooo boring. My shift will start in a little while to watch Aidan and I still haven't eaten. At least thats one good thing about having a newborn - you have little time to even get to the fridge.
Lots of good tv on tonight to DVR. Looking forward to LOST and America's Next Top Model the most, although I likely won't watch them until tommorrow. But since they are season finales (I think anyway) I'd likely better watch them as they play cause if I don't I'll end up hearing about it on some news blurb somewhere or on the yahoo frontpage and it'll be ruined.
Only the weather tip, we actually got thunder and lighting here last night. It was pretty hard core - and rain - it would wash you away I think if you stayed out in it too long. For some reason the power stayed on though which was great. We don't do well without all our electrical toys and devices here.
Here's hoping that everyone is staying focused with clear minds and choosing only nourishing foods today.
Well, here I am! Thought I'd stop in and schmooze! Is that right, Julee? Love the Yiddish lessons! My favorite is "schmuck", such a descriptive sounding word. You can just picture the type of guy you'd call a schmuck!
Mel - I know just what you mean about being bad after a good WI. WHY??? I am quite sure the scale is up today, although I haven't officially done WI. I weighed this morning and it was and I usually drop a bit between 8 a.m. and noon, so I'm waiting until about 11:30 for WI.
Kaylee - I'm not out of plus sizes - just out of the plus dressforms! A plus size starts at generous 18 and a large ends there, and that's where I am now, so buying a large will make it adjustable down as I continue to lose. Darn things are expensive though! Still, SO nice to have when trying to pin something up to fit - especially hems. Nothing worse than standing around while my all-thumbs DH tries to pin up a hem for me! Very funny!
Jilly - There you are! I'm glad to see you, but sorry to hear you have gained. Still, don't despair! I'm sure you can get back into this and take it back off in no time!
Zelma - Okay, I missed your post about it, but I've figured out the biopsy was bad news. As I understand it, Australia is rather bad for skin cancers, isn't it? I hope everything goes well and I'm so very glad it was found now, rather than later! Take care.
Ammi - Hello back at you! Hope you are having a good day, regardless of the weather!
Well, other than the impending WI, today is pretty good. I walked from my .6 mile parking place this morning. It is clear and lovely out and they expect it to get to 76! About time! I was wondering if Spring decided to go back to sleep! Today is the National Employee Health and Fitness Day. http://www.physicalfitness.org/nehf.html They are having a one mile wellness walk near my office with drawings for prizes for those who complete it. I'll be doing that as soon as my 10:30 hearing is over! And, although I know I'm up a tad, I had a nice NSV today. I have this green dress and vest that I bought years ago. I remember when I bought the thing it was just almost too tight. Especially in the sleeves. I wore it once or twice and when I lost a button I just put it in my closet since it was uncomfortable. I repaired it when I got down to size to wear it again and when I put it on today it's bigger than ever! Positively baggy and the arms have at least 2" of ease. I can't begin to tell you how much that pleases me - I have HORRIBLE arms. So even though I still hate them, I can tell they are smaller and that puts me on !
Well, I should go now. to everyone I missed! You girls move to fast for me!
Heather - looks like I need to add one more to your weight loss, I see you have lost 6 lbs now! When did you weigh?
The weather you had last night sounds like the weather we are having now, minus the thunder and lightening, but that rain is definitely coming down in sheets. I don't think even the gardeners will like this rain. Oh to be living in Australia again
Velma - are you at least having dry weather? I know it's your autumn over there now, but I bet you are having less rain than most of us supposedly in Spring!
How are you feeling, is your wound on your back very sore? I am glad you have your hubby there to look after it and you
Lilion - that is so great about your NSV, it must be brilliant to see clothes get that baggy when you know they used to be a snug fit. It's only early days in my diet, but I long for the day when I have a similar NSV.
I am having a good day thank you, despite the horrible weather. I have been having good days ever since I changed my anti depressants and it feels wonderful. I always knew it was going to be so hard to diet when I felt as awful as I used to, and I have proven it now. I am so gung ho about this diet, I feel so motivated and I haven't had the urge to cheat once in 3 weeks, which is a record for me. Woohoo
Well, the walk is done! I get an HOUR of adminstrative leave for it too...and it only takes about 20 minutes including the stopping for water and free sunscreen and such~so I'm legally playing on the internet!
Better than my NSV - my WI was DOWN! That's right - 239.6! Just imagine what it would have been if I'd gotten on the darn eliptical and not eaten the metric ton of brownies!!!
I pledge to NOT backslide this time - but to keep it up! I want to be at 100 lbs gone!
Crock - I just noticed how much you've lost!!!
Ammi - I'm SO glad you are doing well on the new meds!
Misti - on that loss! Great work!!! I think the weather got switched! It's been rainy for the past ten days (with the exception of today), and it's usually quite warm and sunny in the Spring/Summer...you can have your weather BACK! You're just full of scale AND NSV's today!
Sharon - Heh...yeah, as strange as that comment was, it was TRUE. And it made me feel alright. Here's to getting to that lowest weight!!! You are SO CLOSE!!!!!
Ammi - Hope you are able to make the beach! We live right by Lake Michigan, but we don't really get to the beach much, mainly because of the self consciousness. We like to go in the evening, and walk the boardwalk and pier. By the end of the summer, I MIGHT brave the beach in a bathing suit...we'll just have to SEE how far I get! hehe. And... Your comments were very sweet...I'm easily flustered. As for the eliptical, we are going to try and renovate our basement a bit...make it a little more pleasant to be down there. We're going to move the pool table to the other side of the room, so we have more room to put the treadmill & the eliptical (if we get one) down there next to the NordicTrak (which scares me to get on! lol) We also have an AbDoer thingie down there, which makes my back feel better when I get on it. Going to take the TV and dvd player down there, hang up some posters, and voila! Exercise room. Now we'll see if we actually DO IT! lol...
Elaine - Thank you! And that's a GREAT attitude to have!! I wish I shared it! lol
Jill - It's good to see you here, even if you're off plan! You'll get back on soon enough, I just know it! Hope you have a GREAT weekend!!!!
Crock - Did you guys manage to get some sun today? You're done with classes by now, aren't you?
Lilion - Either way, you are moving down! And hey! Another NSV!!! Hope you win something fab from the drawing! You are doing SO well! Only 11 pounds to get to that elusive -100!!! WOOO!!!!!!!
Finally! A sunny day! It's gorgeous out right now. It's only about 3:30pm, but I've already put in a full day of calorie burnin! hehe...Got up this morning, and Mom & I took a bike ride into town, and back. We were going to mow the yard, but we needed gas, so we walked back into town, and got some gas. Mowed the yard for about 35 mins (push-mowing), and then we did a bunch of planting. Got all of our veggies in the ground. 2 kinds of lettuce, zucchini, acorn squash, another kind of squash, broccoli, and watermelon. We're going to get the tomato plants this weekend...and the strawberries are starting to vine! Our pear trees should be getting ripe in about a month. We checked the pool, and the water is CLEAR! YAY! This means, we just have to have a few days of really sunny weather, because we've got the solar cover on it...and then we can get in, and vacuum it, and it'll be set for the season! We're hoping to be in it over Memorial Day weekend. The guy that's building the deck for our pool called us the other day, and unfortunately, he won't be able to start work on it until the second week in July. A little later than we had hoped, but it's going to be done this year, which is great. Mom got a new motorcycle the other day, and my stepdad is going to pick up his new one today, while the weather is still good. It's starting to get a little cloudy, and I think we're going to get some thunderstorms tonight (what a SURPRISE...ha!). Tomorrow, it's up bright and early looking for jobs again. Then, we're going to be done on that front for the week...hopefully. I got an e-mail back from a place that I sent a resume to via e-mail...for Data Entry, and they said that they are reviewing all the applicants, and I should be hearing from them if they need an interview. Also got something in the mail from the hospital around here....they were hiring for a cook's assistant...it's like $12 an hour, so I'll take it! They said they are reviewing all the apps as well, and I should hear from the either via phone or mail within the next 5 days. I'd really really like the data entry position, as that would be office experience, but right now, I'll pretty much take what I can get...EXCEPT fast food! Been there, done that, NEVER AGAIN. I think I've rambled on enough, and I've got to get to a couple of PM's.
Kayley~ Yep finished up last week on classes,, I passed everything.. Thankfull for that.. Now it is just adjusting NOT to get bored and upset that I am not working,, I will regroup this week, then start my busy summers..I have a lot I need to do on the Hunting club we own,, we have a Rumble in the Hillls ride Memorial weekend plus I am going to Charlotte NC on Sunday,, ride saturday,, off to Charlotte Sunday to Watch the Coca cola 600, Nascar Race,, then we are staying over night and back Monday'. Some sun peaked through today, but nothing to be happy about. Thanks for asking.
Patti - do you go off into fantasy land when you exercise. I know when I do boring stuff like ironing, I make up stories, like I'm ironing for a celeb and become their best friend lol stupid stories like that. Well it makes more it less boring
Lilion - boy oh boy you are so close to losing that 100 lbs What are you going to do to treat yourself for losing that much?
Well done on doing that walk, and you have the time to spare for legally playing on the Net
Kayley - oooh don't get me wrong, when I go to the beach I don't go near the water lol. Well I do walk at the waters edge if it's really hot, but normally we just walk on the promenade. It will be a LONG time before I am brave enough to actually be seen in a swimming costume!
You have definitely had a busy day today, you sound so close to your mum, it's lovely. Is she trying to diet too, or does she like all the cycling etc just as a way to keep fit? I love the sound of the exercise room, I hope it gets done, it will make exercising that much more fun.
LOL about your blushes about my compliments, just remember every time you run yourself down I shall be here to remind you not to do it and why
That's great that you have a possible two job interviews coming up. I will keep my fingers crossed that you get the data entry job. For one you will like it more, but also you don't really want to be around all that yummy food if you got the assistant chef's job That said, my mum used to work in a chinese restaurant and she got so fed up even looking at the food that she wasn't even tempted to eat it. So good luck in that interview too
Crock - I bet you are looking forward to going to see that Nascar race. I hope the weather will be dry and that you will have a great time.
Crock - My dad's a big Nascar fan, and I'm sure he's going to be down there this weekend, too...he always goes. Hope you have a GREAT time!!!!
Ammi - Walking the beach is quite lovely, too. I'm a swimmer, so I'm just glad we have the pool, since I'm such a chicken to go in the lake...or rather, in a bathing suit! I'll jump in there fully clothed, though, which I've done on MANY occasions! My mom has always been up and down with her weight. She's a runner...about 200 pounds, but she's been smaller. She's doing South Beach with me, too, now...and she loves the exercise. It's really nice to have her as my workout buddy...we are very close. She's always been one of my best friends.
Oh, you guys! I just had THE BEST non-scale victory!
As many of you know, I work for a cabinet shop, in the office. This morning my boss/ex-gf says to me "How would you like to get another workout today?" When I said yes, she told me she needed me to help her unload her truck AT THE JOB SITE...which has a set of stairs. (Her helper is on vacation for two weeks). So I changed into the T-shirt I keep at work for when she needs me to help her move stuff in the shop, and put on the sneakers I keep in my car, and I followed her truck.
I got to the job site and she and I started unloading the truck. Then, of course, the super on the job needed to talk to her and, since i'm not one to stand around (it also would look unprofessional for me to just stand around, which I'm very mindful of), I kept unloading the truck. First all the wood pieces (mostly shelves and countertops and such) then the many cases and bags of tools. Up and down the stairs, up and down the stairs, up and down the stairs.
Oh, I had SO MUCH FUN! Got a great workout - cardio and legs. AND, I am not in pain. Knees and ankle are A-OK, thank you very much! And I felt so fit and capable!
All those workouts are sure paying off! YIPEEEE
Since I told L that I had fun helping her out she said "Oh good, then next time I need your help I won't hesitate to ask! See, now you're fit enough to work out on the field!"
I feel so gosh darn proud of myself! Thought I'd share. :-)

Ammi no lol i pretty much just listen to the songs but i do think of what it will be like to lose all this weight and that pretty much keeps me going on!
Okay, I've missed another several threads, but I just wanted to pop in on my day off, since I don't get many of those
I've read everything, but I'm not going to get a chance to do many personals so please know that I'm not ignoring anyone on purpose!
Zelma, how're you doing? I'm glad they caught the cancer in what seems to be the early stages. I'm also glad to know that it's not the 'bad' cancer! Please let me know if there's anything you need. Take care of yourself, and know that you're in my prayers!
Ammi & Annie, all I can say is WOOOHOOOO on all the weight you've lost so far, and of course on the fact that you both seem so much happier! I love it! Congratulations, I know you two can do it!
Jilly, I've had some nasty gains lately too. It's hard getting back on track after feeling so low. I just keep reminding myself that at this time next year, I have two options: I can either be at this weight still (or, god forbid, above) and not feel any better or be any healthier, or I can try to keep going and at least feel better and be healthier, if not lighter. You can do it too - I know you can.
Julee, are you getting anxious about all the wedding stuff? I can't wait to see you in your dress, looking fantastic! Sorry to hear about your issues with your bride's maids, but hopefuly they're resolved by now.
Kayley, sounds like you're doing very well too. Congrats! I love hearing how close you are to your mom as well - that's wonderful! I'm sure you'll reach 230-220 by Christmas, but even if you didn't reach it, you'd be healthier and lighter than last Christmas!
Lilion, how's the arm now? How're you feeling in general? I know surgery can take a lot out of you! Congrats on the loss!
Nancy, how are things going with you? Any news about the procedure? You'll definitely be in my thoughts.
MariaLucia, even just reading your posts, I become exhausted Congrats on such a spectacular NSV. How are things going otherwise?
Crock, how're you? My hubby loves Nascar too, but we're nowhere near there and he has to work. He's not pleased! Hope you're having a better day now!
Val, being on the road has to be rough on you. I hope things change for you soon, and I'm sorry you've been having issues with money and your hubby. My thoughts are with you, and if you need someone to talk to, please feel free to PM me!
Ahem.. Catherine?, VioletSwerve, and everyone else who is amongst the missing.. where are you? How're you guys doing? We miss you!
Welcome to the new ladies! You'll love it here.
And, of course, congrats to everyone who's losing, and everyone who is sticking with it!
