Ammi~ I had expressed the problem to the teacher on a few occasions, I had made and *** of myself and had confrontations with two girls in the class this year as well, but they are young and dont care, they would be good for a bit but they just cant seem to get over there" diareah of the mouth" they are going to school so they dont have to work, as me and 4 others are going to school to get back in the work force,, YOu have one in every crowd, and This teacher is not aggressive or has the back bone to stand up for herself and lets the students depict the class.. AHHHHHHHH., I will soldier on , however, dont know bout my temper./.
I'd like to invite EVERYONE to join us for the 300+ exercise thread. We're trying to make exercise a habit and give ourselves some accountability!
In this thread, we're setting the number of MINUTES we want to exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or housework!
We're also tracking how many minutes we have exercised as a group, which many of us find to be a lot of fun! Please check out the thread, which will be stickied at the top of the forum once May rolls around.
Sharon - wow size 18 jeans, skin tight or not, that is fantastic Hope you enjoy all your lovely walks while you were away, it won't be long until those jeans fit as they should!
Crock - oh wow that really is the pits isn't it. Every class has it's wasters, but it's a shame that the teacher hasn't got the back bone to reprimand them and get them to sort it out. Good luck in holding your temper, I bet you're like the HULK, don't make you angry coz you're not very nice when you are angry
Wyllen - not sure what exercise I am up to so I won't make it a challenge yet, but is it still ok that when I do exercise I add it to the group total. Don't worry if it's not, maybe I will be ready for joining the next months challenge.
I only had less than an hour back in bed, recharged the batteries, and now I have to go get something to eat. Bye for now,
good morning everyone. being a little down on myself for gaining a pound today so i will be adding more water to my day and tomorrow will up my treadmill by another 5 minutes... looks like snacks will be off limit for awhile to i get a grip!
I had the most wonderful time. It was worth every penny!
I REALLY liked my new hairdo. I didn't get a different cut, just a trim, but I wanted a 'warmer' colour for winter and I really love the colour. I also like the soft curls that the hairdresser gave me. It was 'different'. I'm posting this pic hubby took of me outside i the sun, so hopefully you can see the colour. I'm squinting, as I'm not good in the sun, so please forgive the face pulling.
I felt SO good getting all dressed up in the evening to go out to dinner and then into the casino. I am actually really disappointed that the casino has REALLY relaxed their dress standards. People were in there in jeans and sneakers. They used to not be allowed. We wandered around in the afternoon and there were some VERY casual outfits, but I thought that the evening crowd might be better dressed. Well, I was wrong! Some people were better dressed, but I think I would have been one of the best dressed people there. I didn't feel over-dressed though... I just felt GOOD! I was even big-headed enough to feel as though people were looking at me because I looked so good, not because I stood out as the 'fat lady'. How is that for vain????
Here's the pic hubby took in the hotel room.
The room was beautiful, with sliding Japanese-looking doors from the bedroom to the bathroom, so we could talk to each other while we were bathing if we wanted to. The room was quite spacious too. We had lovely views of the river, city and the resort's lake.
We went to the same restaurant for dinner and breakfast (breakfast was included in the price of the room) and it was a smorgasbord. That actually seemed to be the best for us and even though I ate more than I would normally have for those meals, I know I made some pretty good choices. For dinner I had two plates of food, one cold and one hot, and both had mostly vegetables on them. I know I had too much protein, but I figured I could live with that.
We got up fairly early and went for a walk along the river for an hour before breakfast. It was a beautiful walk, but my hands were frozen! I have no idea what temperature it was, but I could NOT get my hands to warm up. The rest of me was fine.
For breakfast I had fruit and yogurt to start, then quite a bit of hot stuff. Mostly scrambled eggs, baked beans and an omelette roll. I also had one and a half pieces of wholemeal toast. I know that, once again, this was WAY too much protein, but I have been saying lately that I thought I needed more protein, so now I've had a week's worth in two meals!lol
Overall, I'm pretty happy with how my eating went. At least I still exercised. And I didn't have a morning snack because we had breakfast so late. I also had a lighter lunch. Tomorrow the scales may growl at me, but I know I can get it off again if I've put some on.
Oh... and we didn't gamble much at all. Hubby just had a few goes on some fruit/wheel type of game. I was going to sit and put coins in the machines for a while, but I had wandered around the hotel shops in the afternoon and I saw this absolutely adorable teddy with a couple of little teddies attached and I decided that I would use my 'gambling' money on that instead. I may take a photo to show you all. He is just SO cute!
We mostly just walked all around the casino watching other people throw their money away. Wow! Some of them have a LOT to throw away! We cringed as we walked past the $100 and MORE minimum tables. That is what they were paying PER bet, and we didn't even want to spend that much in TOTAL in the casino. Pathetic aren't we? We still enjoyed ourselves, and I just enjoyed 'strutting my stuff'.
So, all in all, we had a wonderful stay. Everything was luxurious and I felt like a queen for the night. I had to boast to someone, of course, about why we were there celebrating, and I struck up a conversation with a couple near us at dinner. They were SO impressed with how I'd gone and wanted to know all about it. The lady asked what size I was and said she thought a size 10 (6 to 8 US)! Well, THAT made my evening complete! I am still a size 14 bottom, so it is great to hear that I may look a smaller size.
I will post individual replies tomorrow hopefully, but I just wanted to let you all know how the stay went. I'm still feeling really good about it. We've had a pretty hectic day though, so I'm a little tired.
OH DEAR! Sorry my head was so big in the head shot! That will give some of you quite the shock. You may even have nightmares! I'm not game enough to ask hubby to change the size though, as he has messed with SO many photos for me lately. I hope you will all forgive me. Hey! I have been telling you all that I've been getting a bit head lately. This just proves it!
Take care all,
Zelma
PS... you may notice that I've changed my avatar... again. Just wanted to use one of the new ones.
Patti - I am sure you will lose that pound so quickly you will never know it was even there. I am glad you are being careful but try not to be too hard on yourself, a lb is just a good trip to the toilet
Zelma - Can I say WOW! You looked so lovely in those photos, and I love the colour or your hair, the curls really suited you too. You have every right to be big headed, and every right to think people in the casino were for once looking at you because you look great, not just a fat woman!!! I am glad you had such a lovely time and still managed to make good food choices. You are so much better than me, holiday, day out, birthdays, they all mean eat what I want and be a pig. I guess that's why I'm still 329 lbs and you are so slim now
As for the casino not having the dress code it used to have, I know all about that. When we went to Vegas we took a lot of dressy clothes thinking everybody would be glamourous. Were they? No, not one, everybody was in shorts and shirts, or sun dresses or whatever. I would have felt so out of place if I had dressed up, though I did get to wear a nice outfit to see Penn and Teller's Vegas show. That was great. Anyway thanks for sharing your photos and the details of your time away.
Ammi you are right a pound will be gone before i know it especially since i added 5 more minutes to one of my workouts AND am drinking water today! not dang scale is gonna get me down!
Zelma sounds like you had a great time and i still cant get over how wondeful you look! goes to show how hard work and determination will pay off in the end!
Zelma.. i realized we are alot of like in alot of ways.. i started out hating my treadmill but now i find i enjoy it very much... it is such a nice private way to get exercise... i put on my music and just walk away the pounds.
Patti - good for you that you aren't letting the scales get you down. It's great that you have a treadmill, mind you if I had the money and space I would go for an eliptical, they just seem less boring than walking, walking, walking lol. I am glad you love your treadmill though, what music do you listen to when you are walking away the pounds?
Afternoon all!
Just flying in on my broomstick and saying hello! Between Relay stuff and working overtime I am lucky to find enough time to eat and sleep. Although I am SO enjoying all my fundraising stuff. Its been hectic but I am loving it! We have over $3000.00 raised with still a month to go
So I thought I'd do some posting while I eat lunch before I try to take 20 minutes to clean the house. Man, I need a maid!
I am on a chicken breast and greens kick with a few fruit to close the deal. This week so far I am down 11 lbs. I knew it was water weight!!! I retain it like MAD! So after being in the 330's for what seemed like 3 months, I am not anymore!!!
I probably won't be back around till tomorrow night as I work tonight till midnight and back for 630am tomorrow.
Sorry I didn't get to personals. Zelma, your pics look awesome girl!
Brenda
Brenda - that is awesome 11 lbs in one week, I am lucky if I lose that in 3 months!! well done, you are definitely back with a vengence just like you said!!
Sounds like the fundraising is going brilliantly, do you have a target you are aiming for, or just as much as possible?
Yay, glad you are an 80s girl too, I have so many different compilations cds of 80s songs, not to mention the actual records I bought at the time. I have a load of records but no record player 70s rock was cool, but like I said, give me disco any day. I wish I had a machine to work out on, I am in the mood to get down to some disco beats LOL
