Good Morning Ladies!

Well, just a quick check-in today. I did get a little bit accomplished at work yesterday, not as much as I should...but I tried. I intended to get on the infernal machine after work...but life got in the way. We grabbed a quick dinner and then had an SCA meeting. When it was over I had to go shopping as I'm having a Pampered Chef party tonight...which is why the house cleaning has been so important. When I got home from that I did some last minute house cleaning and by the time it was over it was 9:30 and I was just too tired to elip!

I had 30 pts yesterday. I've been using my flex this week, 2 or 3 at a time. Hope that doesn't screw things up. When I got on the scale at work Monday morning it said 242 - pity they wouldn't let me just call that my "official" WI! We'll see what it is tomorrow!

Ruth: Go Ruth Go! Can't wait to see all the 's!

Garnet: Water! Drink lots and lots of water! I've actually dropped 3 pounds from one day to the next by about 110 oz of water!

Xenagal: How nice that you mall walk with your DS! Mine's only 10 - I was a late bloomer - so walking with him isn't that much fun!

Charlotte: Sounds like you have the same weather as we do here! 80 one day and 40 the next! I'm sooo ready for it to get warm and stay warm...even if it's raining!

Did I tell you ladies I rode a bike this weekend? I'm sure it was a priceless sight! While we were cleaning garage I pulled out DH's bike and made him air up the tires. I took it down to the street and hopped on! You really never forget how to keep your balance apparently! But turning and stopping...those skills need work! A neighbor man gave me an odd look as I wizzed down the hill yelling "I can't turn around!" to my DH who was still up the street at my house! Once I stopped, walked the bike in a circle, and headed back to my house, I yelled to the man, "Well, it HAS been 20 years since I've been on a bike after all!" DH and DS assure me that the trail is flat, so I guess I'll be bike shopping soon.

Time for me to go! Have a good one ladies!

Lilion, bike shopping sounds quaint! I picture you with a basket on the front (or rear) of your bike stopping for a loaf of fresh baked bread here and a few fresh veggies there. I would get run over by traffic if I tried that around here but it sounds wonderful and a excellent way to get in exercise! I wish I could join you.

I'll be wll mall walking again this morning. It is nice to have a walking partner and the weather inside the mall is always beautiful but you do have to dodge the kiosh accousters. I just smile at them and keep going.

Ruth I am technologically impaired but I know you will have many, many, many of those cute little flashing flowers at the end of the week!

I will try to take the advice that was given to Garnet as well. 3 pounds in one day is incentive galore! I would be jumping for joy! So today is a watery day for me.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day with many blessings.

You know, it does sound sweet and quaint! I wish I could do it! But I didn't mean riding a bike to go shopping, I meant shopping for a bike - because I don't own one yet!

You weren't here yet when I was talking about my son wanting me to buy a bike so we could all ride the trail together this summer. My first impulse was to say "NO". But I got to thinking...How long will this 10 yr old boy want to go bike riding with his mom and dad? I've missed out on doing so many active family things with him by being fat and lazy...I just can't turn him down again. So I tried my husband's bike to see if I could still ride one. I need to get one of my own - DH's bike just isn't tall enough! I'm the same height as my hubby...but I have longer legs!

As for the technology-impairment, I can help with that! When you click on "Post Reply" the screen pops up with the smilies on the side and a place that says More - Click on More and you'll get a pop-up with a bunch of smilies! When you want to put on in a post, just click on it and it will appear! The flashing flower is one of them!

Must run...back to work!

Good afternoon everyone! It's snowing here right now--and to think yesterday at this time it was nearly 70 degrees!

Lilion--I love that you call your elliptical the "infernal machine"! I've tried doing those--got to 4 minutes at a curves-type place the other day, but seemed to feel it for days afterward. Do any of you belong to a Curves? I considered joining, but I guess if I continue doing my 30 minutes at home every day, I don't see the benefit in joining. Any thoughts? Right now I think I'll continue on this bike of mine until it warms up enough to get in a walk every day.

I did 22 minutes on the bike this morning and 8 minutes of hand weights and stretching, and I'm thrilled that I've got my 30 minutes in already! I had my WI today and lost 4 pounds since last week, so considering the nearly 1.5 pounds I gained last week, I'm at a net loss for the two weeks!! I am happy about that--actually more like thrilled when I saw the numbers!

Going to make myself a big salad for lunch and then to work for a few hours again.

Thanks everyone for making me feel so welcome here.

LOL! I hope you find a good bike ,Lilion! What a doofus I am. It would be great exercise though and with that little bike basket you would have to shop daily! Thanks for the advice on the cute little animated thingy's also.

MTN, I have always wanted to join Curves but I have never felt I had the extra money. I walked again this morning and did 1.93 miles at the mall. Twice around the lower level and once around the upper. When I went back into the office to post my miles I noticed that they have stretch and tone classes on M-W-F one week and T-T the next. I may try that. It is free so that wouldn't stretch my budget at all.

Look at me! I'm animated! I was posting on quick reply so I did not see any of these little cuties.

Hi guys... I am having all kind of computer problems. Totally shut down for awhile. My fan was going out. My SIL finally came over and fixed it for me. My monitor is still acting up. Wavey lines all over it half the time.

I am so swamped with "TO DO" lists I can't find time to get here and post.
I am going to see my daughter in just 3 weeks and some of that list HAS TO BE DONE before I can go.

Plus.. my sister is in the hospital again. Had her lungs flushed/washed today. biopsy tomorrow. She has been there a week already and doesn't know when she will get to come home. It was suppose to be a three day trip. She is looking at a minimum of 11 and a possiblity of even more. She needs all the prayers you can send. She has had one hard life.

okay... I have got to go. You won't believe this... well some of you will. LOL
I STILL have not finished my taxes.

Smile Good morning!

No flower for me for yesterday! I didn't have more calories than I should have, but I sure didn't do program all day. BOOO! for me! We were out and about all day and DH wanted Mcds. I had a small cheeseburger and small fries, or rather a few of his fries. bad, bad Ruth!

How are the rest of my buddies doing?

xenigal, nobody was more technologically impaired than I when I started here. Thin and some of the others helped me learn to do various things. I still don't know how to put a picture on here, but one day I will give it a try. I put pictures on ebay for several years, so how hard can it be? DUH!

2cute, Your sister has my prayers. You are about to leave us again huh? I hope all goes well.

MTM, SNOW! Wow, I thought it was spring. We had 80 degrees a couple of days. This morning it is back to 39, so that hurts. I love spring time. If it would stay springtime all year I would be a happy camper. We have way to many bugs in the summer! They call them no seeums. You might not see those little buggers but you sure feel their bite!

Lilion, I would have paid money to see you on that bike. I can't imagine riding a bike! This big tush won't be sitting on one of those itty bitty seats. Ouchie! Talk about a wedgie....but you go girl!

Thin, come out, come out, all work and no play, you know the saying.

Barb, thanks for the flower, didn't earn it yesterday though How is it going with the job? I hope things have calmed down. Did I tell you that I worked for a Dr. in Fla.? It was crazzzzzy at times!

garnetfairy, glad to see you made it back. Good for you that you stayed on program. I am at home and can't seem to behave myself! I know I need a muzzle, or perhaps have my jaws wired shut? Can you believe that some people have actually gone that far? I know I would find a way to sip that steak and baked potato!

Terri, How are you and your dh today? That was a bad accident and could happen to anybody, not your fault! They should fix that spot in the pavement so there is no crack or whatever. I hope you didn't break anything.

Well girls, that is about enough blarney from me this morning. Dont forget to wear your green on St pats day. Have a blessed day everyone. Ruth

Question

I'll do a better post later, but Ruth, WHY are you not OP for yesterday? I just realized, I don't know what "plan" you are using. Seems to me if you can fit a cheeseburger and a couple fries into your daily calorie allowance and not go over, you are OP...Of course, that's WW thinking, that you can eat anything you want, as long as it fits.

Are you SURE you didn't earn that flower?

Hi everyone!

I'm going to have to look up the difference between core and counting points--I've been logging everything into Calorie King and keeping track that way. It seems to really be working because I've been trying to stay on top of my carb intake--when I did the points on WW, I stuffed in the carbs and it just didn't work for me. I had a crappy night--night-time eating is my biggest problem to solve. I have been faithful logging everything on to CK, though, and just yesterday I started a journal of what time I eat. Maybe I'll figure myself out yet!

2cute--I hope you resolve your computer problems. I can't imagine what I'd do without my computer!

Xenigal--Is the mall offering the free programs? That's really nice!! I may have to check out my mall, too.

Ruth--Don't beat yourself up over that little blip yesterday. I love that stuff too, and I stopped last Thursday on my way home from my son's house and had one, too. Geez it tasted so good, but I don't want to do that again for a while! I'm going to have to start taking food with me on Thursday's.

Lilion--Any bike shopping yet? My brother bought himself a really good bike recently--he's got RA and is no longer allowed to jog, but apparently he likes to move faster than walking. He loves it!

Got my bike and stretching in already. Now I think I'll go out and get the new Willie Nelson CD and head off to work for a few hours.

Have a good day everyone!

Charlotte

Okay...now it's officially...Good Morning Ladies!

Today was WI and I'm down to 244.4. Not as good as I hoped - Monday said 242 - but I'll take it! Down is down! And after all, I had a Pampered Chef party last night and ate way too much! I've been using my flex points the past few days and I never do too well at WI when I do that right before.

I considered waiting just a bit longer before WI to see if I lose anymore water weight...I can drop a lb or 2 just sitting at my desk...but I really wanted to partake of snack day. I'm calling it a WW free day! (so I sure wouldn't be earning any flowers!) I missed the quiche and that's bad enough! I used to do this years ago when on WW - on snack day I just didn't eat lunch and had a healty dinner. It never had any ill effects and I've decided that I'm doing it today.

Shocking observation: Skinny women eat cheesecake! They do! I've seen it! They also eat McDonalds and funnelcakes! They just do it rarely and even gasp leave some on their plates! So today I'm gonna eat like a skinny woman. I've already got healthy food planned for tomorrow and I have nearly a mile to walk to get to my car to go home...the child has taekwondo tonight and I'm gonna hit the infernal machine...all in all, I don't think a couple of brownies - just today- is going to kill me!

Ruth: I've considered rejoining WW just to learn about Core. I've seen the "list" but there's got to be more to it than just eating what's on the list. I don't actually "belong" to WW, I just count up points, so I don't have access to the plan. I do know that you still get the 35 flex points to use with the core plan...I repeat...are you sure you don't get that flower??? The bike seat was...unique... ! I told DH I'm gonna have to find one that's wider - especially in the front!

Charlotte: I'm a high-carb girl and luckily that works for me...I am making small, teeny-tiny attempts to eat "good" carbs. (Switched to whole wheat bread, buy brown rice sometimes, get oat cereals instead of Capt'n Crunch) but, as I sit here stuffing refined flour and sugar in my face, I consider myself incredibly fortunate that carbs don't seem to bother my body - I still lose so long as I monitor my intake. I think the bike is gonna wait for the tax refund - as are so many other things!

Well, I may be taking a diet day off...but not a work one...so I must run! Have a t-riffic day ladies!

Good morning, ladies!

I just got home from the mall and did another 1.92 miles. They had a Colorful Choices program going (I joined the first day) and you try to get in at least 5 fruits and vegetables a day. At the end of 20 days (the time they say it takes to make it a habit) you turn in your page to show how many days you ate 5 or more and how many you didn't. Anyway this morning they put out a spread around 11:00 AM that included tiny little veggie pizza squares, veggetarian chili, fruit salad, ambrosia, and orange frozen geletin, mixed veggie platter and dip as well as 2 different punches. It was to show you how to add as many colors from fruits and veggies as possible to your daily fare. I tasted the little veggie pizza squares and some of the frozen orange geletin. It was delicious. I did get some alarming news though as I had my blood pressure checked and it has gone up 20 points on both the top and the bottom number since Saturday. Guess I need to figure out how to de-stress my life.

MTM, yes it is free of charge. They do offer some classes that have a minimal charge but the stretch and tone classes and the mall walker program as well as many other is absolutely free. Do check out your own mall. Tanner Medical is sponsoring it here in Georgia.

Lilion, I loved your observation about skinny girls eating and also your decision to eat like a skinny girl today. I admire you for being able to do it. There is no way I could leave cheesecake on my plate now....That sucker would be history! Well, not history really. It would reside on my backside.

2cute, I am so sorry to hear about your sister. I will pray for her.

Ruth, I think you may deserve that flower too. It takes great restraint to eat just a few fries and a small burger. If you at very healthfully the rest of the day I bet you did not one bit of damage to your daily intake. Also thank you for making me feel not so alone in my lack of computer skills.

A wonderful day for all of you,

Karen

Talking Good morning!

Good morning ladies, or at least I think it is a good morning. Our beautiful spring weather turned around and went the other way. It is just plain cold this morning. That is ok though, I won't be going anywhere! I will have my head in the oven, no not to commit suicide! I turned the self ceaning on so I am commited to doing the job now. Do any of those things really self clean? I think not! I didn't see a little elf come with mine to finish that job.

Lilion, I don't belong to WW any more I just have the points book from back when. I only have the list of foods to go by (core). Not that I have done that very well yet! I like the idea of it, but I love my carbs waaaay too much. Portion control is the key to it and any other plan you are following. I know that only too well, but can't seem to master it.

xenigal, One of the reasons I only ate a few fries is because DH told me to get my own if I were going to eat them. It wasn't self control! He loves his fries too. Picture a snarling pup protecting his food. Maybe I will get that flower today.

Charlotte, I don't know why in the world we should like those Mcds. They can't possibly be good for us, and actually they don't even taste like real hamburger, but I love them never the less. It seems like I just have to have one once in awhile.

2cute, is that computer straightened out yet? Come and talk to us if it is. How is your sister?

Thin, I don't know where you are, but it is time to say hello again! Miss you. You can't just bury yourself in work!

Michelle and all other awol posters, come out now. Valerie?

OK ladies, Time to go and see how that oven is coming along. Have an op day Y'all. Ruth
