Hey Kayley and Chris... we're starting to hear about cougars being sighted around here, too -- Southern Indiana. Odd, huh?
I'm originally from Michigan, too --- in fact, my sister has property near Grayling... they see lots of elk, but haven't heard them talk cougars. A bear once. SPent a lot of time when I was young playing in the woods (near Interlochen--funny how we never felt scared even knowing all of the animals we might encounter)...
Lilion... I'll be interested to hear how you like the eliptical.... still looking at treadmills myself.
Hope you all are well!
I know that they were in upper Michigan because of the deer population, but since we are taking over their habitat, there's no where for them to go...maybe it's a similar situation. Around here, we're just used to farm animals! lol
Well today was a day...that's about all I have to say about it *lol* Kaitlyn has been misbehaving the past few days and is about to give me a stroke!!! I'm being sarcastic but...sighs...She does this when she hasn't seen her mother in a while and tomorrow it will be 2 weeks, so I should have expected it, but I didn't.
I went shopping for food today (with the misbehaving Kaitlyn, soooo I didn't get everything on my list). I got lots of low fat cottage cheese, sugar/fat free pudding and jello, green tea, chicken (I need to go back and get some more of it though), veggies and more veggies. They didn't have any fruit on sale, and I spent $70 on just the five bags I did get.... I guess I'll try to get some more chicken, fruit and the rest of what I didn't get another night, which the good thing is my brothers a manager at HEB so I have to go to the grocery store twice a day, when I drop him off for work and pick him up for his lunch break. That makes forgetting something when you grocery shop not such a big deal. I need to sometime get to wally world too and get my vitamins, I've been out for almost 3 weeks. Geez seems like I pay my bills and buy food and the paycheck is gone. lol
------ Luan--Ohh that does sound good. I'll have to try that. Lilion--nods I've looked for recipes online before I just haven't had a chance to recently. Guess I need to...I checked out the recipeis for the 300+ section of 3FC last night and there seem to be several really good ones there. Ammi--WELCOME BACK!!! We missed you around here. Glad to hear you got the bed all set up and are getting used to it. Kayley--Sounds like you had a wonderful Valentine's Day.
If you haven't seen Suzanne's announcement about the trackers, you might want to look at the top of the main page and read it. Looks like we need to do new ones.
P.S. I sure hope no one thinks I think they're dumb or anything. I've been on the board for the past hour and I just now looked up and saw the announcement. I'm only posting this as information in case you didn't see it either. I'm not trying to be.......(fill in the blank )
I have redone my tracker, does the new code automatically insert or what do we have to do? Thin thinker I'm definately thick/stupid when it comes to this sort of thing!
I just had to look when Easter is so I don't under or over-estimate what I can lose for my new tracker, I thought a mini goal might spur me on as I'm flagging a bit, but I'm off to exercise in a minute so I WILL see some good losses in the next few weeks.
I watched a programme about obesity surgery, there was a man who weighed 320lbs who had the surgery and GAINED 9lbs!!!! he was sneaking downstairs in the middle of the night to eat chocolate!! he came out with the 'I'm hungry/I NEED IT' (etc.) excuse some of us, me included, use to justify our overeating or bad food choices, I DON'T WANT TO BE LIKE THAT ANYMORE!!!!!! so I will THINK before I CHOOSE to eat 'bad' foods and choose NOT to eat them, thinking of this man who is deluding himself I WILL NOT BE LIKE HIM ANYMORE!!!
End of rant, sorry but I need to put this down so it reminds me why I'm here. I hope you are all on plan and keeping busy. The most exciting wildlife we have here are foxes, thank goodness!!!! Amber, sorry to hear about your neice, it is such a shame her mum isn't more like you & your family, at least she has you & her dad, though that doesn't help at the moment.
xxsharon
It's so lovely to be able to check in with you all after so many days without doing so. It's a grey, wet, dismal day here, but I mustn't grumble. Apparently January was the driest January in years here, so if we make up for it by having a wet February then I guess I will just have to like it or lump it
A few of us here have been talking about mental images of themselves. For the most part I don't realise just how big I am. But I am reminded when I go for a hair cut and I sit in front of a full length mirror. Oh that is so cruel. I also watch a lot of documentaries about morbidly obese people, or things like The Biggest Loser, and when I look at some of them and think wow they are huge, I get a shock because I realise I weigh more than some of them!! I am glad I am realising more and more that I am really big because it helps me stick to my diet. The day that I can sit comfortably in my hair salon's chairs, with the smock doing up all the way down, and like what I see in that full length mirror, that is the day when I know I am looking good
Vicki - I have a pair of jeans sitting in my drawer that I have never worn. I bought two pairs ages ago of what I thought were size 30 jeans. Got them home and discovered one pair was on the wrong hanger and was only a size 18. I decided to hang on to them in the hope of one day fitting into them. I am sure one day I will have the same thrill that you had when you found your jeans and were able to put them on. good for you for that wonderful NSV. I tell you I think they mean far more than any numbers on the scales!!
Julee - thank you for the welcome back and for letting me know I haven't missed the women's ice skating. Phew!! I have 4 hours of mens ice skating viewing to watch tonight, this is about the only time I love sports channels
That's cool that Bewitched was filmed in your friends neigbourhood, I bet it would have been great nosing out the window and watching all the goings on. We watched the film last night and I really enjoyed it. It would be great if they did make a new up to date series of the show, especially if Will and Nicole played the parts still. My hubby was named after Darrin in the original show. But his mum and dad thought that the spelling was Daren, thinking just losing the one R made it more special
Christine - christening the new bed would have been a great reason to not be online. Alas it was bone tiredness and a faulty modem. Still, plenty of time for the fun stuff still to come
2losinit - you will probably want to shoot me now, but although I have heard of Michelle Kwan, I can't say I have ever seen her skate. I do have a friend in NY though who doesn't stop going on about how fabulous she is, and she was really upset when Michelle pulled out of the olympics. I hope that at some time during these olympics they will show some old clips of her so that I can see her skate. I love the olympics but it seems like this year is the first time in many that I have been able to sit down and really get into watching them.
Luan - that is brilliant news that your grandmother is paying for you to go to school. I hope you will really enjoy going there.
Oh I am so jealous you are going to Vegas, good for you for planning on taking some food with you. Those all you can eat buffets would be way too tempting for me. In fact when I was there I was still not very well and couldn't really eat much. So I don't care if I am dieting or not, when I am next lucky enough to be in Vegas I am going to have at least one day when I do that buffet justice I hope you will have a great time there, put a coin or two in the slots for me
Amber - thanks for the welcome back, it's good to be online again. Groceries do cost a lot don't they. I still say that if our governments and doctors really want to help bring down the number of obese people in the country then they should make shops drop the prices on fresh food and meats. I don't know about over there, but here you can pay anything from 10 to 35 pence for a packet of ordinary crisps, but if you want to get a healthy alternative like snack a jack rice cake crisps you pay 45 pence and upwards. Why does it always work out more expensive to eat healthily!!
Wow, it's taken me an hour to type all this, time flies when you are having fun lol. Well I better make a move and get some emails written. I hope everybody is having a good day, and better weather than me. Bye for now,
Sharon: Not stupid at all. I had to go redo mine so I could tell you how to do yours. It looks like your Easter Goal one was done on the new server. You can tell which ones have been changed over because they have the "best diet support online" after the 3FCs. Once you've created the new tracker you need to highlight it and "copy" it and then "paste" it into your signature. If you go to User CP and choose Edit Signature, scroll down a bit and you'll see the codes for your signature. If you look closely you'll be able to figure out which one goes to the tracker you're trying to replace. Just "paste" the new code there and delete the old one. Hope this helps. If not, PLEASE give me another holler and I'll work with you on it (or if need be, I can do it for you. )
I have to teach machine embroidery club & a computer class (better check to see which one ), so I won't be around today...unless I'm being bad and procrasinating doing other stuff I should be getting done Why I put everything off until the last minute, I don't know...I keep telling myself that I'll do better next month & before I know it, the 3rd Thrursday of the month is here. I'm driving myself crazy doing this
I was saying in my earlier post about how sometimes I see myself in the mirror or whatever and realise just how fat I am. Here is a link to a photo that Daren took yesterday. It's yet another occasion when I look at myself and think WOW how did I get so fat.
Well yesterday was a disaster, u know those SF jello snacks you can buy, there are 6 pre pkd cups? I have a drawer for my diet food in the fridge, and some how the regular Jello cups got put into my drawer, I think I had eaten three, in a weeks period,, just guessing but 3 is the total..........oh I flipped out,, and of course not one sole will fess that they placed them in the healthy drawer................... BUT on a good note, I have no cravings , I dont think this has off set me at all.................. just the thought of being so conscious and good,, to learn that the sugar jello was there................ughh, I was very pi**ed yesterday over that,
DWLZ is Dotti's Weight Loss Zone. It's yet another brilliant weight loss site with a good message board. I used to be a moderator on the International forum, but it hardly got used, and was closed down. I have to say that I love this site much more than Dotti's, but it's a good second best.
