Default 300+ And Ready to Try Again...#820

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!

Kayley - Well my daughter thinks I am the worst thing since I don't know what. Her dad agreed with me that she should stay home, but I am the enemy to Beth. She doesn't see it as me keeping her home to get well, she sees it as me trying to stop her having a life Oh well, I am glad at least you think I am doing the right thing, thank you!

I am glad that you have made a decision about sticking to the South Beach Diet. This is an amazing place when you need some feedback about something.

Heather - your dog is so beautiful, I loved the photos, thank you for sharing. Ziggy was a beauty as well, and I am sorry it didn't work out for him to live with you. I am glad to hear he has been rehoused and is so happy where he is now. Your kitty is adorable, although we intend to get a dog one day, I am much more a cat person.

Nancy - I think I would be the same as you, if I saw a place with a gorgeous kitchen like yours, if I could afford it, I would snatch it up. My sister was 48 before she got her dream kitchen, so there is hope for me yet lol.

I am glad you decided to go ahead with going on the trip in May. It's a good thing too, like you said, that your BFs parents like to walk a lot. I can see you walking off any treats you might give yourself.

Ah, modern technology it's all well and good, but when things happen like with your BFs car you realise that sometimes it's not all it's cracked up to be. I am still keeping the old proverbial fingers crossed that the insurance will hurry up and decide to pay out. You are spot on that they tend to drag their feet in the hope that you just say, oh forget it. I am glad you are sticking to your guns and are not going to let them off the hook.

I have to say something and I really need to say it in caps, I am not shouting, I just want to make sure it's noticed - LADIES YOU DON'T NEED TO FEEL OBLIGATED TO WRITE INDIVIDUAL REPLIES TO EVERYBODY ON HERE. PLEASE DON'T BE PUT OFF FROM POSTING ABOUT YOUR DAY BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU HAVE TO COMMENT ON OTHER PEOPLE'S POSTS. THIS THREAD IS REALLY MOVING FAST SO IT'S UNDERSTANDABLE IF YOU JUST WANT TO POP ON AND SAY HI AND SAY ABOUT YOUR WEIGH IN ETC. SO PLEASE DO POST, DON'T RUN AWAY

I said that because one of the lovely ladies who has posted here before isn't coming here anymore. She finds it too time consuming, and doesn't like only being able to reply to a select few people. I am sad that she isn't going to post anymore, and I hope we don't lose anybody else. Take care all,

Hugs,

Ammi

So that is my lunch...be careful out there, dont let the same thing that happened to me happen to you....

I am on a new antibiotic so hopefully this one will do the trick. This is my 3rd course of antibiotics but I am finally trying a new one. My mom is on one and my brother starts one today too. Poor dad is wearing the apron at the moment. I hope it makes him appreciate what mom usually does a bit more!

Sunshine - You look GREAT, I cant wait until I am where you are!!

Wyllenn - Thanks for the info. I found the Feb exercise thread!

Catherine - I am glad you managed to find Canada clothes at bargain prices. I know himself is really proud to need a new hole in his belt...way to go to both of you!

Yay Valerie - pump it up woman!

Kaley - I did not know you were on the beach. How are you doing with it? What stage are you doing? I am doing mostly stage 1 but have added strawberries and redi whip, sf nf jello, and crystal light. Oh and the candy bar fiasco mentioned above. by the way I thought you looked pretty in your photos too. I am sure you will be just lovely when you complete your goals...so goth, I think you look cool.

About the stability ball. I got one at Sam's Club that is rated for like 1600 pounds so look around there are some out there that are very sturdy!

Dogpal - Oh, honey, I hope you get the job you want. It will be right up your alley, helping an organization that helps people!! That sounds super to me!

Jjmoreta - Congratulations on the weight loss, WTG!! Keep up the good work!!

Honiangel - Thanks for your input on the carbs. I figured it would count against me...but it's too late now...Congrats on the new sweater fitting...keep going in the right direction and you'll get there!

Valerie - I am really concerned about the lack of winter this year. We will be overrun with bugs without the cold to kill off some of the larvae. Besides, it really brings global warming theories into perspective. Im used to hot winters here in south Texas but reading all y'alls' posts tells me it is unseasonally warm everywhere which is scary.

Nancy - If I were you I would go on the vacation. Especially with the car repairs! In the mean time after the car expense is taken care of you can begin a vacation savings account and put away what you can until you have saved enough for a real just the two of you vacation. In the mean time, I would take advantage of the vacation offers from the in-laws if y'all get along okay. But that's me.

Ammi - thanks for the support...the locking the door thing is not in my future as space is so limited. Of course when I lose all this weight and the dresses fall off of me, they will come down off the back of the door and be donated. And the closet will be cleaned out too. I plan on only buying clothes I truly, personally like a lot when I reach my goal. No more just buying what will fit or what is on clearance or whatever mom brings home to me. I am going to pick out every article of clothing I own!!

Sorry to hear that Beth is ill, hoping she learns something during class besides dreaming about the boyfriend...ha ha ha

Jill - I am sure you are retaining water for your TOM also how have you been doing with your salt intake???That will make you hold water too as we all know!

Zedaus - Glad to hear you are settling in with your new class. I hope your "button" will adjust and not run away! I think most of what I post is drivel; but, it makes me feel involved.

Garnetfairy - I know what you mean about looking forward to being able to buy clothes that you actually like and want to wear rather than just picking what fits. I feel the same. I also have a bone to pick with shops that sell clothes for the larger lady only. The one shop I go to sells from size 14 to 32, and yet in their brochure they only ever show the smallest size models. Why not show us a lady who IS a size 32? It really does annoy me.

Well now you have another reason to look forward to losing weight. You can donate all those clothes that don't fit anymore, you can have more storage space, and THEN you can lock your door

Woops, sorry those naughty candy bars found their way to your mouth lol. Good on you though for figuring out the calories and making that your lunch. I did that the other day when I had two very big shortbread cookies. I didn't have chance to work them off, so they ended up being my lunch.

funny you mention Beth learning something in class. At the last parent/teacher meeting they said that she was spending far too much time looking at him and not concentrating on her work!! He used to sit behind her but they moved him right next to her now so she isn't constantly turning around

By the way I love to read your posts, and don't consider it drivel!!

MsCrockett - oh yes, a right bunch of chatter boxes we are, it's great isn't it

Ok well I am going to go again now, but I am sure to post a time or two more before I go to bed. I am going to miss posting til late tomorrow. I wonder how many posts I will fall behind on answering? Bye for now,

Hugs,

Ammi

MsCrockett - No you aren't sad. It's just brilliant to be amongst a group of people who know what it's like to be so overweight, how hard it is to lose the weight, and who cheer each other on along our long journey to goal. I look forward to reading about people's days, and saying my news too. I love this site.

I cannot belive I missed almost 2 full threads....insane.

I spent the morning helping my friend Abbey move out of her old apartment. It was truly amazing how easy it was to shlep her stuff down the stairs and then walk back up the stairs. I felt a little guilty because when our friend Wendy showed up to help I grabbed her to go to the new place with me so we could empty all the stuff in my car. While we were there, we decided she needed fresh flowers, an air freshener to get rid of the paint smell and a poster that said "Welcome Home." This all took just a wee bit longer than we had expected and we think she was pretty irked at us when she finally got in touch with us...especially since the guys finished loading up the whole truck and she wanted to head over..and we had the ONLY set of new keys.

Oops.

Weighing in tonight...worked out twice this week to the Crunch Fitness Fat Burning Dance Party and was good on food and excellent on water. Fit into a size 16 blazer yesterday...wheee! Size large sweatpants were baggy this morning...wheeee!

Talk to you tonight.

OH..and whoever asked about being scale-obsessed...all I can advise you is to kick it. The key to having faith in your scale is to be consistent in it's use...meaning...once a week and the same time of day, same day of the week, wearing more or less the same thing and keeping the variables as similar as possible. I do not own a scale nor do I want one in my home. I WI at WW on Wednesday nights AFTER I eat dinner wearing more or less the same thing. If I am wearing heavier shoes or a sweater I will remove them...and I never ever wear jeans. I also make sure I pee before I WI as well. It's just my routine. On the few weeks that I have either done WI before dinner or at a different day or time..I note that and sometimes it accounts for some weird fluctuations. The math involved with getting an accurate reading when you weight multiple times a week is mind boggling...so I say keep it simple....and keep yourself SANE! Why on earth would you want to hop on the scale to see the results of a binge? Why would anyone want to deliberately seek out an opportunity to punish or berate themselves?

Just my 2 cents...

Talking

Greetings Chickies!

A quickie post today. I've been incredibly busy at work...had a meeting that took most of the day. I did manage to WI this morning and was down another 1.8! This meets my Feb 18th goal 17 days early!

Unfortunately, I made some poor lunch choices and am now to 28 pts! And I only GET 28 pts! Guess I'm invading those flex points today.

OH - LOVERS OF DOGGIES! I have TWO wonderful, irritating, Boston Terrier Puppies! They are 7 months now! I'll put a photo in the photo thread! No mistaking mine for werewolves!

In closing...here's a cartoon I found funny.

Later Ladies!

Just a quick message before I get ready for work. I am just SO happy that things seem to have kicked back into place this last week. Over the holidays, as some of you know, my weight loss kinda really slowed down and I was not too thrilled about that.

Well, you may have noticed I have changed my avatar and tracker...

I LOST ANOTHER 5lbs!!!!!

Actually it seems to be a little more, but I'm just keeping it to the rounded 5lb marks. Less than 10lbs to go to get into the 'healthy' weight range and about 15lbs to target! It is so close I can taste it! And it has a MUCH better taste than ANY chocolate could ever have!

So, that is my celebration for the day. I hope you all have great days and hopefully I'll have more energy after work for a longer 'chat'.

Take care,

Zelma

zedaus - That is Fantastic I am so happy for you!!!

Lillion - I love the cartoon and your pups are cute!

I have a newsflash ----2 more pounds gone----286 now down from 305 my 2006 starting weight! Hurray!! So I went to the gym and just weighed, I am sick and not up to the workout....but I had to have a first of February weight, I just had to! Now I am glad I did!! I am creeping closer to my Valentines' goal!! Maybe I will make it after all, that would be a big hurrah!

I am going to try to do a WATP tonight after dinner digests if I feel up to it so I may log in some Feb. exercise time.

Ms Crockett - what is insane is being home all day long staring at the pc and constantly refreshing the screen to see if anyone has posted anything yet...at least I check more than one thread!

2fc has changed my life completely now I am glued to the pc like a barnacle.

Ammi - thanks for the vote of confidence; but, I know some of it is drivel. I just like to participate!

I'm off to the gym now, but thought I would catch up before going down.

I just had one comment for GarnetFairy about the candy bars. I count calories too, and it sucks when you go over, but you might think about eating anyway even when you have had something like candy. The reason would be is that because it is pure sugar and empty calories it will not sustain you the way a healthy lunch will. What can then happen is that you get to dinner and you are STARVING and want to eat everything in site. Perhaps it is better to just move on with your day so that you don't sabotage yourself later on. Just a thought - of course if skipping lunch worked for you, then that's great.

Well it is time to get myself to they gym and hit the treadmill.

Julee - yep you only have to blink these days and the posts sure do add up lol. Sounds like you are really enjoying the results of the weight you have lost. It must have been so thrilling for you to help your friend move her stuff and not find it killing you!! Good luck with the WI, and that is fab news about the size 16 blazer!!

Lilion - I loved those cartoons, too funny. Woops, sorry about the not so good food choices. Still at least you have some flex points you can use to get you through the rest of the day.

Zelma - way to go on the 5 lbs lost that is really awesome!! Only 15 little lbs left to go to get to goal, that is so exciting!! I love what you said about just about being able to taste it and that it's even better than any chocolate you have ever had!!

Nancy - I hope you enjoy your time in the gym.

Garnetfairy - ANOTHER 2 lbs lost that is brilliant. You are definitely on the right track to meeting your Valentine goal You are doing so great. AND I repeat lol, you do not talk drivel. I love reading your posts.

I am going to head off to bed now, so I hope to catch up with you all tomorrow. Everybody have a great day/night,

Hugs,

Ammi
