Dear Friends,

I just want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your heartfelt condolences during this difficult time of losing our friend. I am so thankful to have known him for the past 27 years. I am also thankful for each of you as we help each other through ups, downs, heartaches, triumphs, and everything in between. I'm truly thankful for this forum and the love shown here.

May each one of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families and friends. God Bless each of you~~~

Happy Thanksgiving Chickies,

Valerie and Wyllenn: I am so proud of you guys for walking. I am totally serious. If you do a walking challenge next month, I want to be a part of it. I need the accountability and I am struggling so badly to get on the treadmill. You guys are awesome. I love the Biggest Looser too. It is inspiring.

Neurotica: Congrats on loosing 75 pounds! Have fun with your family.

Jillybean: Congrats on -2!

Christine: Back.

Everyone,
Blessings and Peace,
Dogpal

Christine -- Welcome back! I read some of your story in the 100-lb club earlier (I think it was there), and it sounds like you have a lot going on! What's your favorite recipe these days?

Dogpal -- Well, maybe we should do it, set up an ongoing walker's challenge or something. I've never done anything like that before, but it would be great to have others on board! What are you thinking of for december goals?

You know, I've never seen the biggest loser! I was in Asia when it debuted last fall, and I almost never watch anything live on TV (except baseball) -- so unless I know to Tivo it, I don't watch it! I'm starting to think I should keep an eye out for it.

That's FANTASTIC news! I don't know you, but I started LAWL in September and have 25 pounds gone! It's so wonderful to be losing and feeling better isn't it?

I know you must feel like a different person! Can't wait until I've lost that much!!

Just a quickie...too many posts for me to try to respond to...ack! I am in Florida with my family and am having the most incredible visit. I have been catching up with old friends I have not seen in years and have even reunited with my former best friend. I have just been enjoying my time here..my folks are being awesome about my food and are so supportive which rocks. I worked in a WW meeting into my day today since I wanted to stay on track and was amazed to be down another 4 lbs...even with the airplane travel. Thank goodness I had WI before Thanksgiving right? But I am now down 85 lbs...I am shocked and thrilled.

NSV...I bought a new bra today. It has thin straps and only 2 hooks in the back. Wow.

Happy Thanksgiving to all...

Hi Girlies!

I only have a couple of minutes to say my hello's. I am still working on my basement but finally see some progress. Another night and I should have it completed. I wanted to pop on and catch up and say my bit before bedtime.

Hope everyone has a wonderful turkey day! I am honestly happy that I don't have those temptations so close to Christmas. Its bad enough I have a cookie swap on Saturday night So words of strength, eat your and not too much

though to those that celebrate

Sharon ~ WHOOOHOOO!!! You GO girl!!!

Jilly ~ Another 2 lbs is wonderful!!! I keep thinking, 2 at a time may not seem like much when you have a lot to lose, but 2 a week is 100 per year! And THAT is exciting!!!! and encouraging!!!

Welcome back Christine!!!!!

ok, times up. Enjoy your day! Talk to you all on Friday!!!

Tashabella, sorry I missed your last post - I think I was typing at the same time. Your right, I love Biggest Loser too. I've only seen it twice, but I discovered I could catch up on the website. Unbelievable the changes in those people!!! Inspiring!!!

Welcome back Christine!!!!!!! Glad to have you!! You certainly have a great number of challanges, and I admire your determination to do something about your weight! I've heard Pilates is like that-addictive. My 20yo nephew was telling me the other night that he's been told numerous times that he should try it and he'd love it and be addicted.... but it seems that he's only been told that by girls. Imagine this, he's 6'4 and has trouble getting over 170 pounds.

Wyllenn - You're on for next month. Sounds like fun. I wonder what goal I should start with?

Good job, Jill!!! We'll look forward to hearing what happens at TOPS next week. I hope you can resist the extra goodies tomorrow. (Notice I just said EXTRA goodies )

Mazarin - We'll look forward to hearing from YOU on Friday! I hope it's a good one!

Andrea - Happy Thanksgiving to YOU to! & I agree with you and others who've said how great it is to have this terrific forum and be able to chat with this great group!!

HI SUNSHINE!! Welcome back! I started in May and have lost 36 pounds or so, so you're way ahead of me. You give me a great example to follow! AWESOME that you've done so well!! I've made it down from a 26 to 24, but hopefully I'm not TOO far from the 22's.

Julee - Hope you're having an incredible time down South! It has to be fabulous to go visit with those 85 pounds gone!!! Congrats a million times!

Brenda - glad to hear that basement is coming along. Have a Happy, Happy!!!

DOGPAL - Cool! You're in for the December walking club? Should we start a thread?

Bill will be home in a few more hours. Nice to have someone warming my feet besides the dog And I believe I have some Jello to make before he gets here.... SF of course!

EVERYONE here - Happy day!!!

Sounds like there's some interest in a walking thread -- how about we make it a general exercise thread. Pick your exercise -- mine will be treadmill walking -- and the number of minutes you want to do it in December, and I'll start a thread right after Thanksgiving!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate...

Hey Ammi, hope you had a great anniversary and are feeling better!

No weight loss in two weeks! It's December next week, and I have some Christmas parties coming up so ticker removed and it will come back in December... I hate weighing myself at Christmas, I'll just aim to keep up the exercise and good eating and maintain what I am at now, until I retry "the proper diet" again in the New Year!

BTW, I am just loving the Turkey smiles!

Alison -- I think it makes sense to regroup over the holidays, maintain and come back with all guns blazing. This is a long hard journey!

I am very happy with how I handled Thanksgiving today! I had my normal breakfast and a small lunch. We went to friends for The Big Meal. I didn't eat any of the appetizers (they didn't look appealing anyway), and drank only water. For the meal itself, I had one plate with the things I wanted (no butter and just a little gravy). I did go back for seconds on stuffing alone (I LOVE stuffing), and had a piece of cake for dessert. I'm going to maybe have a small snack tonight. If I calculated right, I will come in only about 100-200 calories over my normal daily limit, but should still be okay with my weekly average, which is what I focus on. I wouldn't change a thing I did (not even the stuffing). What's more, I did not feel deprived! AND, although I ate much less than normal, felt full for hours! Certainly better than I had feared, though I was lucky that there weren't tempting appetizers or desserts!

Alison - Love your new avitar - I felt guilty since you got hurt so badly on the ice, but when I saw your new avitar, I just had to laugh. I'm sorry you aren't showing a weight loss for the last couple weeks, but you're SO right - we're heading into "Just maintain season".

Wyllenn - I'll keep an eye out for the walking/exercise thread. Glad you did good at the trukey feast!!! I LOVE stuffing, too!

We have big holiday meals in MIL's basement because there's more room down there. I was carrying leftovers back upstairs for her after we were finished and thought about how I couldn't do that last year. Unfortunately, I did indulge in a bite of stuffing for each trip up and down. That was really my one overage. I had only a couple small bits of pie all day, and I drank GALLONS of water I think! Before we even went over there I did 20 minutes on the treadmill & had a little chicken protein and some broccoli - I suppose that's not everyone's idea of breakfast, but it worked for me to keep from doing anything I'd regret for the next week.

Valerie, Dogpal, and anyone else who wants to join: I have started a December exercise thread, aptly named "300+ December exercise goals" to help support anyone with whatever form of exercise you choose to do -- swimming? housework?

I have trouble sometimes keeping my goals, but like my new approach, setting a number of minutes/ month to work out (rather than times/wekk or performance goals, both of which I have tried in the past). My exercise of focus is walking on the treadmill, but it could be anything! You can set your own rules -- no competition here, except with ourselves!

Please feel free to join!
