Thank you so very much for sharing your triumphs with us. You truly are an inspiration to me! What a beautiful way you look at life and yoru weight. I wish to adopt some of your beliefs and be as successful as you have been. I will try to remind myself that in 3 years I will be 35, I can be a morbidly obese 35 year old if I make it without having heart problems, or a 35 year old that I will be proud of and my children will be as well, more fit and healthy. I don't want to be "skinny" by any means. I just would love to be the average size 12 or 14. One day at a time. I haev learned that it is ok to haev little slip ups as liong as I don't beat myself up and get my head out of my @ss and back on track.

Again Catherine, thank you for sharing with us. I wish you all the best in life! I am so happy for you that you are gettinga second chance at life and love!! Have fun meeting the folks!! {{HUGE HUGS}}

Hi everyone, its 8.36 am here, waiting for the taxi to take my son to nursery (he goes to a special 'enhanced' nursery four miles away) I'm very tired and scared, my class in confidence starts this afternoon, I'm more scared than when I went to Uni (why?) which I really looked forward to.

Ammi I don't know about charges for phone calls to 1 to 1 help but the initial call is free I'm sure that they can offer you some advice on what to do, I'm sure that all of their courses are free, and some are free if you are disabled, on a low income (etc). Hope this helps.

Hippy v l you made me have tears in my eyes reading about your wonderful progress, it sounds like it should be made into a film! you have really inspired me to make those changes, you hear people on the tv, but from a real person who has done it it is far more moving and motivating!

I think, pj, that I have done really well, did 25 minutes of my more challenging exercise video, been eating the right foods, weigh in on thurs. We had to wait about 8-10 months for our son to see a specialist, it is a difficult time not knowing, hope things get better for you.

best wishes,
sharon

I can’t think if I told you as my head is elsewhere at the moment…. But it seems I am a type 2 diabetic! Great, not what I wanted to hear….. but I’ll live. I have my first appointment with the nurse at my doctors today…. So we shall see what happens!

I need to find my motivation again, if anyone finds it will you mail it back to me!

We did'nt do much today, name game- throwing a ball to some one & saying their name -memory aid (?) hopes & fears about class, 1 person did'nt turn up, I nearly did'nt either, spent most of morning on loo (nerves)

Have you changed your picture (avatar?) Got to get dinner on it's nearly 4pm & very hungry, only had time for 2 nanas at lunch.

sharon (ps the oil might be easier to buy online or may be known under a diferent name in the US)

*peeks around corner*

Hi Everyone

I've been MIA for about a week... things have gotten a bit out of hand here on my small part of the world. Between my parents fighting, school, work and needing a vacation... I had to take a little time for myself. Last week I stayed in hiding. I spent most of my day and nights at the library. I did a little study group for my state exam that I had on the 10th this past weekend. Let me run down my saturday schedule... then we can all take a vote to see if I'm crazy or not.

6:00 am - got up to walk a mile with WATP
6:30 am - got ready for my state exam #3
7:00 am - I leave for state exam
7:30 am - I start exam
10:30 am - I finish exam and call james to pick me up. From this point on we leave straight for Raging Waters for Brit's bday party. 5 screaming kids in car. Took two cars to Raging Water.
11:30 am - We arrive at Raging Waters
5:30 pm - We head for home.
6:30 pm - we get home and drop off all the kids.
7:00 pm - I get read for my friends wedding (vow renewal)
8:30 pm - I arrive on time for ceremony
2:30 am - I arrive home... pass out in bed.

I really should not have gotten up at 6 am to exercise... because if you had seen all the hills i had to climb to get from one water ride to another... not to mention the stairs to get to the top of the water ride... EESH! My calves are still hurting.

My mother has been calling my sister asking her why I don't answer my phone or return her calls anymore... sigh... It's like I can't have a life without having to call mommy. I know she's going through problems with dad... but honestly... she brought this on herself.

I've lost 2lbs in the last two weeks... it's not much, but considering what I've been going through, I think that's a miracle.

I will find out my results for my 3rd and final exam October 11th I believe.

How is everyone??

MIA Sue

Yes I did change my avitar. I was getting bored with the dreamer one. LOL Hope I didn't confuse too many people! I am having trouble updating my weight tracker, so while I was fooling around with that I did my avitar.
OK I will try to look on th e internet for that oil stuff. He is and has made progress in the past 2 weeks that is definately noticeable. His one therapist and myself sat down today and discussed what I can do to hopefully help him. I am praying that it works. Only time will tell.......

Hi Sue! Sorry for the problems with your folks. Hopefully your mom will realize that you don't want to hear it or be a part of it. WOW you are one busy little bee!! Reading about your Saturday made me exhausted!!! Here is to your acing your test that you took!!

How is everyone else? It has been quiet here today. Hope that means all is well. I did well today on track. Tomorrow my hubby comes home and he will be home until he goes back to work next Wednesday. MY time will be limited on the computer. He likes to use it at night when he is home. Hopefully I will be able to check in every few days though!
Well I am going to go get myself a fat free frozen yogurt fling saucer! YUMMY! Hope everyone is well! Catch ya later!!

Where is everyone? Hope that those with real big probs are ok and not hiding in bed too depressed to join in.

About the confidence building class, I had to work with a slim attractive, very well-turned out young woman who has a son who's 3yrs old. She felt that she was never good enough, that she was'nt attractive or pretty (she is) and worried about not being clever/sucessful. So there you go, speaking to the other two women in the class ( no men came) we all felt pretty self conscious and uncomfortable, yet thought that the others (me included) seemed to be confident(ish), it seems that most people's perceptions of themselves are different to those of other's perceptions of them. I mentioned about my weight and feeling people looked at me in disgust, they were shocked, (maybe too nice to agree?) and said they worried how /what people thought of them.

Got to go and do my exercises, missed them yesterday but did 30 mins of fast walking with pushchair.

regards (& extra hugs for those in a bad place)

Hello All,

Sorry I didn't get chance to post yesterday. I came online all prepared to catch up with everybody, but a friend messaged me on Yahoo and all **** had broken loose in her house, so I spent hours talking to her trying to help her sort stuff out. By the time she signed off I was more than ready for sleep.

I actually was having a pretty bad day yesterday, I spent most of it in bed. I didn't over eat though, and I did get up in the afternoon to do my hour of cleaning, so it wasn't a wasted day altogether. I vacuumed through the house, and boy, does that job kill me. I will know when I am getting fitter and lighter just because the vacuuming will become less of a chore. In the mean time I know it's great exercise for me.

Alison - I hope the visit to the nurse goes well and that you come away not feeling depressed about the diabetes. As for your motivation to get back on track...... there's 5 little balls of motivation, AND look at this little guy..... that will be you when you are back on track and are having a weigh in. Remember how good that feels, here he is again You can do it, you can get back on track and you can enjoy the feeling of being back in control and seeing those lbs come off!!

Sharon - it's amazing isn't it to see somebody that we think looks good, and yet they have gone through times when they have had no confidence in themselves. It just goes to show it's not just overweight people who have that problem. I am glad your class went well, how often will you need to go?

PJ - what does your hubby do, you mentioned he will be home soon, so I am guessing he works away sometimes? I know you must love having him home, but hey, I'm going to miss you when you can't use the computer so much

SueMarie - well done on your weight loss. It's great to see a loss especially when you aren't expecting one. Sorry to hear that your mum is giving you grief, or at least is giving your sister grief because you won't take her calls. It's not a nice position to be in, and I do hope things calm down soon. Also I wish you all the best for your results in October. Waiting sucks doesn't it. If you are anything like me you do the test and you want the marks like yesterday lol

Well that's it for me for now, I will check in later and see if anybody has posted,

Hugs,

Ammi

Hi, the class is every Tuesday for 10 weeks (during term time) it lasts for two hours and when completed there is guidance for what you want to do next, I want to resume helping in adult literacy classes (which I did up until pregnant with my youngest) and in the near-ish future to teach my own classes in literacy, which I am qulified to do, just not confident in.

Ammi, sorry to hear that you had a bad day, I thought about you & I'm glad that you are ok.

Pj, glad that you have some professional help/support with your son, it can make the world of diference, we have spech therapists, special (home & school) teachers, a nursery nurse, an education psychologist and a paediatrician . They are helping , though sometimes I feel as though they think I'm thick, the way they explain evvveeerryy detail sssllloowwlllyyy.

best wishes,
sharon

Hello Sharon - that is brilliant that you want to help out in an adult literacy class with the hope of later starting your own literacy class. It's such a commendable thing to do. I had a friend who did some sort of course which involved helping adults with literacy problems, and she really enjoyed it. She went on from there to become an assistant social worker. I hope you find the confidence building course does it's job. My mum did a similar course not long after she and my dad split up. It was a woman's only course, and a lot of it was about 'girl power' lol. But the one thing she learned that I remember and say to my kids, is that when you do something stupid, YOU aren't stupid, what you did was stupid. Even thinking like that makes a big difference to how you can feel about yourself. Thanks for thinking of me yesterday, I really did miss coming here and reading all the messages.

Isn't it wonderful when you start to notice a change in eating habits? The other day it was being full before I finished a bowl of soup with bread and margarine. Today I was sitting here with a few slices of lean ham, and 3 individual packs of WW crackers (1 point each pack). I was enjoying eating, and all of a sudden I thought, wow I really am eating too much. It felt like I was actually being naughty, when in fact I was only eating a 5 point meal. Amazing. This really is becoming a life style change for me and I am only nearing the end of my first month. Awesome.

Have a great day everybody, and happy Weigh Ins to those that are having that done today.

Hugs,

Ammi

Ammi, glad you are enjoying ww, do you have special/low cal/ww marg? I either go without or 'spend' my extras on a bit of butter.
Suemarie, sorry not to notice your post, I think you are crazy or can't say no, but at least you will have burned some calories off, and worked those muscles! How old are you, I bet you're under 30!

bye for now,
sharon
